Jaskier never knew if he could give Geralt a second chance after what he did to him, leaving him like that was nearly unforgivable. Leaving him on that damn mountain had nearly ruined him, he was tortured, lost Yennefer, and ended up in jail.

Oh how life was cruel to him, but then there he was back again. Jaskier fell into his arms, tears threatened to fall. Geralt held him tightly, the day he left Jaskier was the day he realized how wrong he was. How big of a mistake he had made. Jaskier was shaking in his arms, Geralt cleared his throat.

"I'm so sorry."

"Sorry.. you're sorry?" Jaskier felt rage build up in him. "You left me Geralt!"

"I was wrong." He replied, Jaskier pushed off his body.

Well he never thought he would hear those words in his life. He never thought Geralt would admit to being wrong, for a moment he wondered if he was dreaming.

"Geralt..."

"I was so wrong." Geralt said softly, he cupped his cheeks in his large hands. "Jaskier I.. I should have never left you. I know you probably don't want to hear it.. May even despise me now and if you do I understand but I love you Jaskier. I left you because I feared what would happen to you, and maybe I was selfish... hell I know I was."

Jaskier looked up at him, his blue eyes widened in absolute awe and anger and need. "You love me?"

"I love you." Geralt repeated. "I want you to meet my daughter, Ciri, I want you to come back with me to Kaer Morhen. I want to treat you right this time, prove to you what I did was a mistake, and that I know how wrong I was."

"You do?"

Jasker was unsure how much he could trust him, he honestly feared his heart would be broken again. He was honestly floored that Geralt had any feelings for him at all, he thought he left him out of hatred. Not love.

"I do, I want to make it up to you 1000 times over. Jaskier I hate myself for what I did. I hate myself for hurting you.. I kick myself every day for it."

"You're not lying to me?"

"No, I could never lie to you. I will never leave you behind again, unless you choose to stay behind. I will never do anything like that to you, never."

Jaskier held him tightly, he just needed to feel his arms wrapped around him for longer than a moment. "I want to believe you."

"I understand if you don't believe me.. I- I understand if you'd rather stay out of all of this. If you'd rather not see me anymore. Jaskier I really do understand.. I can go I just."

"You will never leave me again." Jaskier snapped. Geralt's frown turned up even if it was only for a moment.

"You're right, I will never leave you again."

"I have no use to you as a bard however."

"Bard or not, I want you beside me but why do you say that?"

"Well I can sing but I can't play the lute anymore... Or do much if it needs my fingertips."

Geralt's brow furrowed. "Jaskier?"

"I was tortured by someone looking for information about you and Ciri." Geralt's jaw tightened and he quickly grabbed Jaskier's hands. Turning them over he spotted the burn marks. A low growl escaped Geralt's lips, it was almost animal-like in a way, Jaskier however found comfort in it. "He was a sorcerer."

"Jaskier I- I was hoping leaving you behind would avoid this and I was wrong. I wanted you out of danger, I wanted you safe and out of harm's way. I'm so sorry.. I- I never thought anyone would hurt you like this if I left you.. I was clearly wrong though. I will kill the bastard that did this to you. I hope someone can help heal this... Yennefer or someone."

"Yennefer is safe?" Jaskier asked with hope in his eyes.

"She is, she's teaching Ciri how to control her chaos."

"Ciri has chaos?"

"She does, she's bright and brilliant. She's a good fighter too, she can do the Witcher course now." Geralt's eyes were filled with pride and all Jaskier could do was hide the smile growing on his face while he watched the man he loved described his daughter. Jaskier wanted to meet the girl that brought so much Joy to Geralt.

"We won't leave each other again, do you understand me?"

Geralt nodded, bringing Jaskier's face up to his own. Their lips met as the two kissed, Geralt drank in every inch of him. He was so desperate for forgiveness but he knew it would come in time. All he truly wanted to do was make sure Jaskier knew how sorry he truly was. How horrible he felt that he had left him behind, he had an anger in his belly about the man that had tortured Jaskier and was determined to bring him justice in some sort of way. He hoped someone could heal his fingers, he knew that Jaskier was likely at a loss without the ability to strum on his lute. Geralt and Jaskier parted only long enough to breath before Geralt brought his lips back against his once more. Jaskier wrapped his arms around Geralt's neck.

He had no third chance, if he left him behind again or broke his heart, he refused to go through that pain again if it in fact did happen but he prayed to whatever gods there may be that he wouldn't be left again. That this second chance really actually would be worth his time.

Geralt broke the kiss, giving him one final peck on the forehead before he grabbed Jaskier's hand and led him out towards Roach. He picked Jaskier up and placed him on Roach first before climbing behind him. He grabbed the reins and kissed Jaskier's neck softly.

"You didn't let me ride before.."

"I didn't want to get attached, or let Roach get attached. I was stupid."

"Yes you were."

Geralt chuckled. "You're right Jaskier now let's go home."
