Nancy watched Robin as she examined the items in her room. She had never noticed how pretty she was, her simple curves and how her nose scrunched when she wasn't sure what she was looking at. The clumsy way she walked or the way her smile seemed to light up whatever space she was in.

The way she smiled, that made Nancy's heart swoon. She didn't understand fully the way she felt about Robin.

She didn't know how it could be this way with a girl. She had stronger feelings for her then she ever did with Steve or Jonathan and they had been happy. She couldn't deny that, she had been genuinely happy with them both.

Robin just made her feel the same way. She never wanted to hurt anyone, but she wanted to explore her feelings for Robin.

Jonathan had taken the break up surprisingly well, it was as if he saw it coming. He and Steve were oddly hanging out together which Nancy later found out was them planning some activities for the kids.

Now Nancy didn't know how to speak to Robin, flirting with the boys had been easy but she didn't know how to go about it in a way that she could be let down easy if Robin wasn't into girls.

Steve and Robin were chatting together when Nancy made her way towards them. Their conversation seemed to change subjects before she sat down. "Hey Nance."

"Hey," she smiled looking them both over. She couldn't help but smile at Robin. "So Robin... I was thinking maybe we could go shopping together."

"You want to go shopping? Sure, we don't have similar styles but it could be fun to see where you shop for clothes and where I shop for clothes." Robin smirked. "I could even try on one of those fancy skirts you wear."

Nancy blushed thinking hard about the idea of Robin wearing a skirt, she always was in jeans or kakis. Nancy wanted to see her dress up, even if it was a silly dress up game at the mall. "Let's go then."

Robin smirked and gave Steve a fist bump before the two headed to the car and to the mall. "So what made you want to go to the mall with me?"

"I just thought you and I could get to know one another better." Nancy replied with a smile on her face. Robin grinned.

"I like that idea, since we both mostly know one another through Steve."

"Yeah, he's great but I wanted to figure out how to talk to you without him you know. I'm glad you two are good friends though. Its great to see."

Steve was their one connection, but she wanted to fix that. She wanted to find out what kind of things Robin wanted and liked. She wanted to know what kind of things they could talk about without Steve. Steve was great, but that wasn't who Nancy was interested in.

"Yeah, uhm but I'm happy to go clothes shopping and browsing with you."

Nancy grinned as they pulled up to Star Court Mall, the two headed inside. They walked the shops and when they got to where Nancy bought clothes she helped Robin pick out some cute outfits. Robin went into a dressing room and worked on putting the skirt on. Robin poked her head out of the side of the dressing room. "Would you be willing to help me with this?"

Nancy nodded and slipped into the room with her. She sucked in her breath seeing the way the top and skirt fit her. "You look great."

"Really?" Robin asked curiously. She didn't know if she genuinely looked good or not.

Nancy tied the bow in the back and smiled. "You look beautiful."

Nancy fought herself to not lean in and give her a kiss. She wanted to ever so badly, but she didn't want to scare her. Honestly the last thing she wanted was to make Robin hate her. To have Robin never look at her again. That was going to kill her inside.

Robin looked herself over in the mirror. "You like it?"

"I do, but if it isn't your style don't worry."

Robin grinned and thanked her but did decide to take the dress home with her. They continued to try on clothes back and forth between their favorite clothing stores. The two headed to the movie theater in the mall and bought a popcorn and a candy to share as well as individual drinks. The two reached for popcorn at the same time which left both girls blushing. It seemed to happen more and more. Nancy got cold and leaned into Robin who happily let her stay close.

After the movie they made their way to Scoops A-hoy. The two got an ice-cream to share. "You like chocolate bubble gum too?"

"It's the best flavor." Robin agreed as they both continued to talk and share how school was going or what they've been doing when the other isn't around. "So, uhm I think I need to tell you something before you and I keep spending times together alone like this."

Nancy raised her eyebrow. "What is it?"

"I.. Nancy I'm not into guys, you know like I wouldn't ever want to date Steve... so... like I like girls. Like you... I don't want you to think you have to be around me or keep spending time if you aren't comfortable with that b-."

"Oh thank god."

"What?"

"I was so worried, like I thought I was trying for nothing. I didn't want you to hate me. I.. I don't know how to explain it but I like girls the same way I like guys... you know I-."

"Really you mean.."

"I do.. I want to keep hanging out with you. IF we work I want us to be a thing. Would you want that? I want that..." Nancy squeaked.

"I would, I would love to..."

"I didn't expect you to have that reaction."

"I was so worried all day..."

Robin snickered. "So you asked me out to go on a date, not like just to hang out."

"Both, I wanted to learn more about you, who you are and what makes you Robin. I want to spend time with you, and we don't have to date yet... we can work on it."

Robin nodded and squeezed Nancy's hand. "I'm holding you to that Wheeler."

Nancy smiled big, her cheeks rosy. "I'm so glad you are who you are Robin."

Robin was blushing, and trying to hide her reaction poorly. The two girls laughed squeezing one another's hands. They were going to make things work, or try to.
