Daryl smirked as he hid some eggs around the house. Daryl placed a basket on the table and sat waiting for Shane to get home from work. Shane stepped in the door, a coffee in his left hand and two donuts in the other. "Was work good?" Daryl asked with a smile as Shane handed him a donut.

It was yellow with pastel rainbow sprinkles and shaped like an easter egg.

"Yes it was fine." Shane smiled sitting beside him when he noticed the basket. "What's that?"

"I have a game for you." He smiled, turning his head to the side. "I've hidden six eggs around the house. Once you find all six you can open them, they have a secret message."

Shane raised an eyebrow but smirked and made his way around the house. He spotted one beside Daryl's bow they hung on the wall once they became a couple, he picked it up and set it in his basket. He couldn't help but giggle at the idea, he hadn't done an easter egg hunt since he was just a boy. He saw another egg sticking out behind a blanket they had draped over the couch. He set it in the basket, Daryl smiled watching him carefully.

"What's the occasion?" Shane asked.

"It's Easter." Daryl replied back grinning.

Shane plucked the third egg out of the potted plant. "Little shit.." He grunted as he looked over the green egg that he picked up from the plant. Daryl snickered seeing the look on his face.

"Three more you're doing great." Daryl winked as he leaned back showing off his arms.

Shane grunted in desire as he continued to search around the house for the eggs. He opened the fridge and searched through the items. He opened their egg carton and laughed, finding a plastic egg inside it. "Did you really?"

"Yes I did." Daryl grinned as he watched him look around for more. "Two more."

Shane grinned and looked around some more. He looked at the photos of their wedding photos and found one sitting between them. He smiled and placed it in his basket, he continued to search while Daryl finished his donut.

"One more, you want a hint?" Daryl asked, his blue eyes sparkling.

Shane chuckled. "Sure."

"You've passed it about six times." Daryl remarked. "Also look higher."

Shane furrowed his brow and continued to look around, he looked over their shelves and continued to be confused. "Where the hell is it?"

"Look up." Daryl replied. Shane looked up thinking there was an egg on top of the TV or the higher shelf but he still couldn't see it. "No babe look up." Daryl said again.

Shane looked up and saw an egg hanging over the side of a fan blade. "Really seriously?"

Daryl laughed.

"Just thought it was funny." He reached up and grabbed it. "You got them all now, come open them."

Shane sat down and popped them all open. He expected candy or something but instead he found six small slips of paper. He flipped them all over and narrowed his eyes in confusion as he began to adjust them to make a sentence.

His heart began to beat quickly when he came to realize what it said. He looked up at Daryl and picked him up, spinning him in his arms quickly. "Really! You're being serious!"

"Yes." Daryl laughed as Shane set him on his seat. "Yes Shane we are." Daryl smiled laughing happily as he spun him around and kissed him again. He looked back to the papers on the ground.

We are going to be parents.

"I can't believe it. Oh my god you're really pregnant?"

"Yes I am. We did it Shane. We did it." He hugged him tightly. He kissed his cheek, grinning ear to ear. "Happy Easter."

Shane held Daryl tight before kissing him lovingly. "Oh I'm so excited Daryl." They'd been trying to a child for a long time now, Daryl was deemed a carrier at sixteen and that hung over his head. He had so much fear that he wouldn't find anyone or that his father would use it against him but when he met Shane he knew it was his destiny to be with him.
