Princess smiled as she looked out on her balcony watering her plants, she sighed today was a day off and she had no plans and all of her friends were either working or busy.

She laid up on the couch putting on a record when there was a knock at the door, she stood up adjusting her pajamas because hell it's a day off she should not have to wear real clothes on a day off.

She opened the door and smiled wide. "Mercer I wasn't expecting you, or was I? I forget sometimes you know but I think I would have remembered you saying you were coming over."

He smirked at her rambling. "No, I have a gift for you."

She cocked her head raising an eyebrow. "Come in. Come in."

Mercer chucked and stepped into her apartment. It was what he expected, posters all over, a few crowns on the desk beside her TV, a record player. Her kitchen was cluttered and full of supplies to make something but none of it made sense to him. A few books laid around the room clearly she had started reading some but hadn't finished any of them.

He sat down on her couch, the large box in his hands then was placed on the coffee table. "Now careful when you open that."

"I'm always careful." She teased, but it was clear by the look on his face he was being serious.

She lowered herself to her knees with a smile on her face as she lifted the top off the box.

As she opened it a small face poked out with little whiskers twitching.

"Meow."

Princess looked up at Mercer speechless. "You got me a cat?!" She asked launching herself at him, he jumped back in surprise as she kissed him without even thinking and returned to the small kitten. She picked the dark colored fuzz ball up carefully. "Oh thank you Mercer, Gracias."

He smiled at her his fingers brushing his lips for a moment as she cuddled the kitten. "Going to name you... pickle."

"Pickle?" He raised an eyebrow but laughed.

That was a very princess thing to say. "Do you approve?" She asked spinning it around carefully her music still going in the background. "Oh aren't you darling."

"I approve just wasn't expecting pickle to be the first choice but I should have known."

She smiled at him. "Thank you really Mercer. This is a wonderful gift I've been wanting a little cat."

He smiled at her and stood up stalking towards her, she looked up and smiled setting the kitten down on the floor so it could explore its new home. He cupped her cheek in his and kissed her. "I hope it was okay, maybe should have asked first if you were ready for a pet." He chucked as he pulled away.

"It was more than okay," she smiled eying the small thing as it explored its new surrounding.

"We should go down to the pet store together. Get Pickle some stuff." He suggested.

"I expect kitten support," she smiled, "since your Pickle's dad and all."

Mercer felt butterflies. "Then I get visits."

"I wouldn't have it any other way."
