Lexi's POV:

My phone alarm woke me up, as I stretched and stared at the pile of clothes lying around on the floor.

What happened here? I asked myself.

Then, I remembered the events of last night, as it replayed in my head.

I groaned in embarrassment of how Louis probably thinks of me now.

Why do you care what Louis thinks about you?

Because he's cute!

No he isn't!

Yes he is, get over it.

He probably thinks you're a clingy weird girl now, after last night.

Whatever!

I tried to shake the thought of Louis out of my head but I couldn't do it.

I cleaned up the mess, and got ready to go outside.

Talk with Louis.

Go to the cafeteria.

Talk to him!

Eat!

I decided to talk to Louis, and afterwards go eat.

I stepped out my door, at the same time Louis opened his.

"Oh, hi." Louis awkwardly greeted.

"Hey." I internally groaned at how awkward this situation was, but kept a forced smile on my face.

"Listen, about last night.." I started, before I got rudely interrupted by Ella who was walking down the hall towards us.

"Hey Louis!" Ella smiled, putting her hand on Louis's shoulder.

"Hey." He replied, glancing from Ella to me.

"Listen, we were gonna eat with you yesterday but you didn't answer me for whatever reason so we're going to eat breakfast with all our friends for breakfast now." Ella said, smiling.

"Right now?" Louis asked, glancing at me.

"Uh, yeah, right now. Come on," Ella hesitated. "Was I interrupting something here?" She asked.

"No!" I answered.

"Yes." Louis responded, before raising his eyebrow at me.

Ella laughed in confusion "So can we go, or what?"

"You guys can go." I said, heading towards Tiffany's room.

"Okay then!" Ella walked away towards the cafeteria with Louis and her other popular friends.

While I was watching them walk down the hallway, my phone buzzed, so I unlocked my phone to see what it was.

It was Louis. Meet me in front of my room after school, the text read.

I decided to just leave him on seen, as I reached Tiffany's room.

I knocked on her door, as she yelled. "Come in!"

I opened the door and Tiffany was eating breakfast in her room.

"Why are you eating by yourself, Tiff?" I asked.

"Because I knew you were doing something yesterday and I knew that you wouldn't tell Hannah and Jake for whatever reason. Now, spill."

It was true, I told Tiffany more secrets than I did to Hannah and Jake, and I couldn't lie to her because Tiffany could always tell when I was lying.

"Okay, well.." I explained everything that had happened yesterday with Louis, leading up to what happened this morning.

However, by the time Lexi finished her story, Tiffany's expression was far from being happy for Lexi.

"What? Why are you frowning?" I asked Tiffany.

"I just...I just feel like, no offence, but I feel like you're being a bad friend to me and Hannah and Jake." Tiffany commented.

"How?" I was starting to panic. She didn't mean to be a bad friend to Tiffany, Hannah and Jake she just wanted to hang out with Louis a little bit too.

"Y-You're only hanging around Louis and I feel like I'm the second choice, you know?" Tiffany started sniffling, as Lexi tried to calm her down.

"Hey, don't cry, I wasn't trying to be a bad friend. I'm sorry. I'll try to be a better friend. But, um...how can I be a better friend? What do I have to do?" I asked.

"I don't know, maybe hang out with me more? I feel like you're just choosing Louis over me and it just sucks." Tiffany played with her fingers.

"Oh, okay, I'll hang out with you more then." I smiled, looking at Tiffany.

"Okay, but you have to stick with me for the rest of today at least, okay?" Tiffany looked at me.

I hesitated. "But I have to talk to Louis after school, though so-"

"So you're still going to choose him over me, even though we've been friends for years?! I thought you understood me and was going to just be a better friend to me!" Tiffany shouted. "I guess I'll never be good enough for you anyways." Tiffany started crying.

"No! No! What I meant was...You know what? Never mind. I'll totally hang out with you for all of today. I need to work on being a better friend to you." I sat on Tiffany's bed.

"Great!" Tiffany wiped her tears and hugged me.

"Great!" I repeated. Although I was being a good friend to Tiffany, I felt a weird feeling in my guts. I ignored it, however, and just told myself that I was just being toxic if I was choosing Louis over Tiffany every time.

After lunch, I headed to my classes, and sat down, writing down notes, while Tiffany sat beside me, whispering. Louis kept glancing at me, and I assumed he was trying to remind me about the meeting after school thing.

I ignored Louis and kept writing down my notes. Eventually, school ended, while Tiffany and I were starting to head down to Tiffany's room.

"Lexi, wait!" Louis pulled my sleeve.

I turned around. "What?" I snapped.

Louis was stunned for a minute, surprised by the tone of my voice.

"Uh, you good?" He slowly asked.

Tiffany was frowning at me, heading towards her room without me. I had to end this conversation quick so I could walk with Tiffany to her room together.

"Fine. I'm fine." I responded, then walked towards Tiffany's room.

Once I got to Tiffany's room, I sat down on Tiffany's bed, while Tiffany was talking.

Whatever Tiffany was saying went through one ear and went out the other. The only thing  I could think about was how rude I had been to Louis, and how I didn't even bother explaining to Louis that I couldn't talk to him today.

"Hello, Earth to Lexi?" Tiffany waved her hand in front of my face.

"Oh." I muttered, blinking.

"Yeah, what? Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." I apologized.

Tiffany let out a sigh. "I was asking, which outfit would go better on me for Tuesday? This one, or this one?"

"Tuesday? You mean tomorrow?," I thought for a minute. "The first one, but remember to not wear it while we're in classes, otherwise you're gonna get into detention again."

Tiffany nodded. "Good idea."

I internally sighed, as I went back to thinking to what Louis's response would be when I didn't show up in front of Louis's door in a few minutes.

He'll hate me.

He probably already does because of how I snapped at him earlier.

Should I text him I can't come?

No, he'll be even more annoyed I didn't just tell him that earlier.

I'm such a bad friend-

My phone suddenly was buzzing.

I turned my phone over so I could see who was calling me.

Tiffany peeked over to look as well, and it was Louis, calling me.

I glanced at Tiffany, asking her what to do.

Tiffany shrugged. "Just ignore it."

So I did ignore it. A few seconds later, the buzzing stopped, and Tiffany and I went back to talking.

My phone buzzed once, then again, again, and again.

"Who is that?" Tiffany grumbled.

"I-I don't know." I looked at my notifications, and they were all text messages from Louis.

"It's Louis texting me." I told Tiffany.

"Leave him on seen, and maybe he'll get the hint." Tiffany rolled her eyes.

The thing was, I didn't want him to get the hint. I didn't want to give him a hint in the first place.

I screamed in my head for how rude I was, but kept reading Louis's messages and left him on seen.

I personally hate being left on seen, so I felt so bad for doing this.

You're just spending more time with Tiffany, you're being a good friend to Tiffany. I told myself.

But are you being a good friend to Louis? My guts asked myself.

I shook that thought out of my head.

I was being a good friend to Tiffany.

I had done so much more than only be a good friend to Louis, so it shouldn't matter, right?

My phone buzzed again, with another text from Louis.

Hello?  The message said.

Stop leaving me on seen and answer me. He texted again. He was typing, the three dots were bouncing as he typed.

Srsly, did I do smth wrong? Answer me please. Lets talk!!! The message said.

Tiffany gave me a glance, so I kept leaving him on seen until he eventually stopped texting.

I'm sorry. I internally said to Louis.

"He's just so obsessed with you and wants you to only be his friend. That's not healthy, Lex." Tiffany explained to me.

I responded, with no emotion in my voice. "Yeah, you're right, Tiff."
