A/N:

Before we start I just wanna say I'm dying laughing at the comments of the previous chapter because everyone was yelling at Mae to go away & then a few minutes the same people who yelled at Mae are like "oh mae isn't bad", "stan mae"๐Ÿ˜ญ-

#justiceformae

Anyways imma stop roasting you guys LMFAOOOOO let's get on with the story!

Lexi's POV:

"Finally meeting me after weeks," I commented, as Louis rubbed the back of his neck.

"About that..." Louis began.

"I was kidding, Louis, it's fine." I replied.

"Yeah, but still. I feel bad. I should have-"

I shook my head. "It doesn't matter what you should have done. You can't change the past, and you're here now. That's what matters."

We walked in comfortable silence to the bus station and got on the bus to the skatepark.

"Rusty? Or you still good?" Louis asked, grinning.

"Always good. Don't underestimate me." I sarcastically responded as he let out a laugh.

"Who's skateboard is this, by the way?" I asked him, pointing to the skateboard he had given me.

Louis had brought two skateboards today, and I was half hoping he'd bought it for me because that would be super sweet. On the other hand, I hoped he didn't buy it for me because I'd feel bad for him paying for me.

"Oh, uh, it's Mae's." Louis replied.

"Mae?" I asked as he nodded.

I thought for a few seconds and remembered that Mae and I had gone to middle school together, although we weren't very close.

"The day I didn't eat with you at breakfast she came up to me so then we started talking and became friends." Louis shrugged.

Talking? Maybe Louis liked Mae.ย

"As you know, I don't really have tons of friends and everybody who wants to be my 'friend' just wants to be popular so I haven't really made lots of friends. So I thought being friends with Mae could have helped out my lack of friends problem." Louis slightly smiled, waiting for my reaction.

"Yeah, good for you!" I said as he smiled more.

"I'm happy for you, that you made a new friend." I told him, while I started slowly skating in the skatepark.

"Hey, since we haven't talked in a while, wanna play 21 questions?" Louis asked as I nodded in response.

"I'll go first. Uh, who was your first friend ever that you can remember?" Louis asked.

"Um...... I think it was Tiffany." I said, with a slight frown on my face.

"Oh, I'm sorry... You can go." Louis mumbled.

"It's fine. Um, do you like Mae?" I asked.

Yes, I was jealous that Mae was so close to him. But what about it? Could you really blame me?

Louis coughed. "W-What? Mae? Ha! No way. She's only a friend to me. Now, what about you? You like anyone?"

"Hey," I frowned, crossing my arms and stopping on my skateboard. "that's not fair! You don't get to just ask me that!"

"Why not? I mean, you asked me, so might as well give you the same question in return. Besides, you wouldn't be so scared of telling me....unless you have a little liking towards me. Some might say a crush, or.." Louis said, asย  I cut him off.

"Fine! Fine! I'll only answer just to prove to you that I in fact do not have a liking towards you, Partridge." I exclaimed.

"Well, who do you like then?" Louis pushed on.

"Nobody." I lied.

I couldn't just tell him I sorta kinda maybe had feelings towards him. I couldn't tell him how he makes my stomach do a flip every time he glances at me. I couldn't tell him any of that. I couldn't risk our friendship.ย

I had admitted my feelings towards boys in the past, and 100% of the time, I had gotten friend-zoned.

I knew Louis was no ordinary boy I had ever encountered, but that was why I couldn't tell him. I couldn't risk losing him.

"Liar!" Louis's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"What?"

"I said, you're a liar." Louis repeated.

"And if I was, how would you know?" I asked him, raising an eyebrow.

"Because you have to like somebody! There is no way you like 'no one'." Louis stuck a tongue out.

"Hmm, wait. I actually do like somebody." I smiled.

This time, Louis raised an eyebrow. "Who? Who? Who? Who who who?"

"There's always...you know, Dylan O'Brien,ย Timothรฉe Chalamet..." I smirked.

Louis groaned. "That is totally not what I mean and you know it!"

"Do I? Who said I knew?" I cocked my head to the side.

"Whatever. You're totally 100% truthfully really super duper sure that you don't like anyone?"

"Yeah, I'm sure." I rolled my eyes.

I closed my eyes and put a hand to my head. "There are times I know when I'm telling the truth. This is one of those times..." I muttered as I felt a warm hand lift my chin up.

I opened my eyes to see Louis standing over me.

I was a couple of inches shorter than him, so I had to still look up when looking at him.

"What are you-"

"Are you sure you don't feel anything? Even when I do this?" Louis whispered.

He slowly leaned towards me, then paused right in front of my face.

"May I?"

I blushed, then nodded.

Closing my eyes, I felt his soft lips placed on mine.

I felt emotions I couldn't describe in words. It felt like I was in euphoria. And then, just as it had started, he pulled his lips from mine.

The whole thing felt like it had passed by in a second.

Opening my eyes, I looked at him to make sure he enjoyed the kiss as well.

He smiled. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"I dunno. I was scared-" I pulled my sweater up to my face and hid my face, avoiding eye contact with him.

Louis pushed my sweater back down.

"Don't hide your face and look at me." Louis gently lifted my face up.

I looked up at him.

"You're so beautiful." He whispered, making my face heat up once again.

After a few minutes, I spoke up. "Do you wanna head back now? I mean, because it's starting to get cold and all..." I mumbled.

Louis nodded, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me closer to him.

We got to the bus station, and we sat at the very back of the bus together.

Eventually, the bus stopped, and I hopped down from the bus with Louis right behind me.

I held my hand out for him, and I saw him glance at me, then put his warm hand in mine, grinning.

We walked to our rooms, and stopped once we were in front of our doors.

"Well tonight was....interesting I could say." I said.

"Indeed it was." Louis replied.

After a few seconds of thinking with something to say, I said this:

"Uh, goodnight!"

I opened my door and was about to head inside when-

Louis grabbed my wrist.

Slowly, I turned around to look at him.

"Yeah?"

"Where do you think you're going?" Louis asked, raising an eyebrow, trying not to laugh.

"I'm uh- I'm not really good with these types of things." I answered sheepishly.ย

"And that's okay." Louis assured me.

"But before you go can I...maybe get a hug... or like a fistbump works too." Louis said while his face flushed.

"Of course you can get a hug you idiot!" I play-slapped his arm and then hugged him, breathing in his scent.

After a few minutes, I pulled away from the hug, looking into his eyes with a smile on my face.

ย "Well, goodnight."

"Goodnight to you too." He whispered, as I shut the door and internally screamed.

Louis Partridge liked me. He actually liked me back! I couldn't believe it. He liked me, out of all the girls at this school.

I had managed to get a brown fluffy haired, tall, attractive, straight A student, piano and skater boy to like me back.

It was official. I, Lexi Roberts had just won at life.
