Louis's POV:

After a few hours of studying, I looked at the clock. It said 9:45 pm.

I had helped Lexi out with Math, and as it turns out, she told me that she had messed up on the quiz we had because she still can't comprehend that Tiffany and Hannah did the horrible things to her.

I felt bad for Lexi, she didn't deserve any of that at all.

Maybe she needs a break from all this... I thought.

"Hey Lexi, we've studied enough for today, do you wanna go somewhere?" I asked her.

Lexi paused, "How about skating?"

I shrugged, grabbing my skateboard. "I guess we can go skating."

Lexi grabbed her sweater, and we headed outside and waited at the bus stop.

She shuffled her feet, as I put in earphones and played my playlist.

A few minutes later, the bus arrived, so we got on and sat at the very back of the bus.

Lexi tapped my shoulder.

"Hmm?" I glanced at her, and she had her hand out, asking for my left earphone.

"There, "I said,  handing her one side of my earphone, as I leaned back into my chair and closed my eyes.

"What other songs do you have?" She asked a few minutes later while tilting her head, as I unlocked my phone and showed her my playlist.

I let Lexi choose a song.

She chose to play Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High by Arctic Monkeys.

Ah yes, a girl with immaculate music taste, I thought, then immediately shook that thought out of my head.

The bus lurched to a stop, and Lexi and I got off the bus.

Lexi took off my earphone, as I set down my skateboard on the ground and put my earphone back into my pocket.

Once I was done, I got on my skateboard and showed Lexi a few more tricks I learned.

Afterward, I gave Lexi the skateboard, and she did a few beginner tricks.

It was impressive because after all, the first time she had been on a skateboard was just a few days ago.

Lexi then got her phone out and showed me this TikTok of these two people that had their skateboard on their feet, and then they jumped up onto it.

"Looks difficult," I commented as Lexi waved it off.

We tried doing it. Multiple times. After 10 tries we still didn't get the hang of it.

"One more time?" Lexi pleaded as I nodded, as we flipped the board over and tried to jump onto it once again.

We fell, yet again.

However, this time was different. This time, she fell to the ground, but fortunately, I had caught her before she fell, so she had a not-so-rough fall.

Unfortunately for me, I had used my right hand to stop myself from falling onto her, so I could feel the impact of my skin onto the hard concrete.

She was still on the ground. And I was almost on top of her. I had one hand on the ground, and my hand holding hers.

She was on the ground. And I was-

Oh god.

Lexi awkwardly smiled as I stood up, dusting off my hands, wincing as I accidentally touched the part of my hand that got a cut from the fall.

She stretched an arm out to me, so I grabbed it and pulled her up.

"You quite literally fell for me." I joked, trying to make the situation less awkward.

Lexi smiled at my joke, then rolled her eyes in a joking manner, "Whatever, thanks for catching me, Partridge."

Lexi's POV:

What was that? After Louis and I both fell, my stomach started having weird sensations. It can't be butterflies, no! He's just my friend...

Maybe it's because I landed wrong or something.

I stared at him as he got his skateboard back.

His jawline, his hair, his-

Louis smirked. "Are you done checking me out?"

"You wish." I scoffed, as I shook my head.

"I'll keep on dreaming." He sarcastically replied, but my face started heating up, so I just hid my face and stole his skateboard and skateboarded away from him to the other side of the skatepark.

"Hey!" Louis ran after me.

Thankfully, there was nobody at the skatepark, so there was nobody that could see us fooling around.

Eventually, Louis caught up to me.

I was still a beginner skater still, so I couldn't skateboard that fast quite yet.

"We should head back now," I muttered, as Louis pouted.

"I don't want to either, but we have to start heading back if we don't want to be tired as hell in class tomorrow morning." I sighed.

"You are right," Louis replied, picking his skateboard up." but that doesn't mean we can't spend 5 more minutes here." He giggled.

I rolled my eyes, but I was grinning. "If I'm 5 minutes more tired tomorrow, I'm going to blame it on you!"

"Go ahead, but I'm going to make these five minutes as fun as I possibly can make it!" Louis shouted.

"How?" I yelled back, as Louis ran over towards me.

"Like this." He mumbled as he put the skateboard on the ground and told me to go on the skateboard.

I got on the skateboard, balancing myself, as Louis slowly pushed me faster and faster.

"Whoa! Louis! Slow down!" I screamed at him as he grinned, holding my hand, pushing me quite fast.

I gripped onto his hand hard; just in case I crashed or fell into something.

"Ow!" Louis shouted in pain, running at the skateboard's speed as I glanced at him for a second.

When I looked forward again, I was going in a weird direction towards the grass, off the concrete.

"Ahhhhh!" I rolled onto the grass.

I slowly opened my eyes to see all my limbs in place.

"I-I'm alive! I'm- Louis!" I paused, realizing Louis was on the ground rolling in laughter at me.

"This isn't funny! I could have died!" I said, frowning.

"Of course you're alive! How could you have died? You have a helmet on." Louis held in his laughter.

"A helmet doesn't mean I'll live 100%." I retorted.

"I know that much!" Louis paused, "so was that fun?"

"Fun?! I could have died! You almost scared me to death! But yes, it was fun. Frightening as hell, but fun." I rolled my eyes.

Louis wiped a tear from his eyes. "Yup! Almost killed you by going jogging speed on a skateboard on a sidewalk. In the middle of a park."

"Ugh, you're so annoying." I lightly punched his stomach, as Louis sarcastically overreacted.

"We both know you love me too much to find me annoying," Louis smirked, picking up his skateboard, as I shook my head.

"Is your hand okay, though?" I asked him, in worry.

"What?" He asked.

"Oh, my hand...yeah, it's fine." He waved it off chuckling.

"Let me see it," I said.

He sighed and showed me his hand which looked like it was scraped badly.

"Where'd you get that from?" I asked.

He avoided eye contact with me, "Just from the fall earlier."

"Oh-," I paused then pulled out a bandaid I had in my sweater pocket. "there."

"Do you just store bandaids in there?" He joked grinning, ripping the bandaid cover with his teeth as he put the bandaid on his hand.

We walked back to the bus stop and got on the bus to head home.

When we got back to school, we walked to our rooms, and when we were in front of our doors, I put the key in my door and yawned.

Louis ruffled my hair.

"Hey! What was that for?" I asked.

"You looked cute." He grinned, going into his room and closing the door.

"Goodnight," Louis called out, as I stood there, wondering why he said that.

That probably just means nothing. He meant it as a friend-way, right?

I opened my door and eventually got to sleep, still thinking about what happened with him and I today.
