Louis's POV:

I woke up the next morning, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

Eventually, I dragged myself out of bed, changed into my school uniform and sighed as I took my phone out.

No notifications from Lexi. Whatsoever.

It's fine though. Like Lexi said, friends.

I thought for a moment.

Friends. Oh how bloody hard it was to not hate that word.

Friends.

Friends were great, friends were fantastic.

But being just "friends" with Lexi? Not so fantastic.

I put my phone away, and got my backpack as I stuffed my phone into my pocket when I heard sniffles from next door.

She can't be crying, can she? I wondered.

As I listened a bit more, the sniffling stopped so I assumed it was probably just me imagining things or maybe Lexi just had a cold.

I opened my door and headed to the cafeteria to get some food to start off my day.

I sat down at an empty bench,  as I started digging into my breakfast.

"Louis!" I heard a voice shout. I looked up to find Tiffany walking speedily towards me.

Tiffany sat down beside me, waiting.

"What the hell do you want, Tiffany?" I asked impatiently, raising an eyebrow.

"Ugh, well don't be so rude," Tiffany lowered her voice. "I was just asking for you to keep quiet about Hannah and I's little joke."

"We both know it wasn't a joke. Or are you gonna lie again?" I replied and crossed my arms.

"Just- Look, I'll make you a deal. I'll leave Lexi alone if you and Lexi don't tell anybody else about what Hannah and I did. So unless you want your little girlfriend to get more hate I suggest you keep that secret quiet." Tiffany smirked.

"Delete the account." I said, as Tiffany looked confused.

I sighed and explained. "Delete the tea page for this school where you posted about Lexi and all that."

"Fine." Tiffany went onto her phone and deleted the account.

"Better?" She asked, showing me the account deleted.

I nodded, as I saw Lexi enter the cafeteria.

I jerked my head to get Lexi to come sit with me, but she shook her head standing near the doors.

Once again, I jerked my head towards the bench, and this time, Lexi slowly made her way over to me.

Tiffany looked Lexi up and down, then scoffed under her breath.

"Should I...leave?" Lexi asked with a red nose, as I shook my head.

"Tiffany was just leaving." I replied. Tiffany rolled her eyes at me as she walked towards Ella's table.

"Sit down." I told Lexi, as she sat down beside me.

I noticed her puffy eyes. "Are you doing okay?" I frowned in concern as she nodded.

"I'm fine. I'll be fine." Lexi huffed.

The bell rang, as I glanced up at the clock. "You haven't had anything to eat yet today, have you?"

Lexi shook her head, as I pushed my not yet eaten croissant to her.

"Louis, it's fine-" Lexi started, as I interrupted her.

"Well, I already ate another croissant, that's the leftover one I haven't touched, and if you won't eat it then it's going to go to the waste, so you decide what you wanna do with it." I got up from the bench and threw my backpack over my shoulder as I walked to Math.

I headed down the hallway, as I heard Lexi catch up to me.

"Hey, uh, thanks." Lexi murmured as I nodded in response.

She quickly devoured the croissant as we entered the class.

Mr. Johnson, our math teacher, greeted us as we sat down in our spots.

"As you all know, there's a quiz today. So....clear your desks and get out a pencil and eraser." Mr. Johnson said.

Mr. Johnson handed us our quizzes, as I sped throughout all the questions.

It was all pretty easy to me. On the other hand, Lexi seemed to be struggling.

I couldn't help her, however, since we would both probably get zeros if I was caught telling Lexi the answers.

Five minutes before class ended, Mr. Johnson asked everybody to hand their quizzes in, finished or not.

I handed my quiz in, as so did everybody else.

The bell rang for next class, as Lexi walked with me down the hallway.

"So how'd you do?" I asked her, as she sighed in frustration.

"I totally forgot everything, the Hannah-Tiffany situation is so not helping me at all!" Lexi exclaimed.

"Well, it was just the quiz. I'm sure you'll do better on the unit test." I reassured her, as she sighed again.

For the rest of the day, nothing really happened between Lexi and I, except the occasional "what did you put for number 5?" type of small talk.

The bell rang, and the horrendous, hell-like school was finally over.

I was joking with Lexi, heading to our rooms when Mr. Johnson stopped us.

"Sorry to stop you guys, but can I see you both in my class right now?" Mr. Johnson asked, but it was more of a rhetorical question, so we had to go whether or not we wanted to.

We followed Mr. Johnson, as he headed over to his desk.

"So Lexi, I marked your quiz you did today, and...let's just say it wasn't your best, which is why I asked for you. And as for Louis, I know you get good grades right now, so I need to ask you to tutor or help out Lexi." Mr. Johnson paused, then continued.

"Lexi, you need to do good on that test we have next week, otherwise it's going to heavily affect your grades." Mr. Johnson added.

Lexi nodded, telling Mr. Johnson she would study harder.

"I'll help Lexi the best I can." I said, as Mr. Johnson nodded back at us.

"You can leave now, enjoy the rest of your day." Mr. Johnson replied.

As we left the classroom, I started heading back to my room, while Lexi followed me.

"So.....where do you wanna study?" I asked Lexi as she groaned.

"Already? Why can't we wait till like, tomorrow?" Lexi gave me puppy eyes, but I pulled her along.

"Just answer my question, Lex." I said, as she mumbled, "your room."

"Alrighty!" I said, trying to sound as enthusiastic as I possibly could be.

I opened my room and cleaned up my desk so Lexi could have space to write stuff down.

When I turned to find Lexi, she was standing near the doorway, awkwardly not knowing what to do.

"Where do I put this?" She asked, pointing to her backpack.

"Uh, on my bed. I don't really care." I replied, waving it off.

She put her bag on my bed, then sat down on my chair.

"Hey you, stole my spot." I joked, smirking.

Lexi smirked back, as I got serious. "Let's get started."

Edit:

I MEANT TO SAY TIFFANY SMIRKED AND THAT TIFFANY SAID "keep quiet or else i'm gonna spread rumours" NOT HANNAH-

SO AGAIN, JUST TO CLEAR THINGS UP, TIFFANY WAS THE ONE THERE, TALKING WITH LOUIS. HANNAH WASN'T THERE. TIFFANY SAID IT, NOT HANNAH. SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION!
