Lexi's POV:

The two classes I had went by like a breeze. The bell rang for lunch, as I opened my locker to put my binders inside.

I had been very anxious for the past hour or so on how I would confront Tiffany and Hannah. It was stressing me out that I didn't know whether or not Louis was right or not.

Being anxious and all, I really didn't remember any of  what the teachers were saying for the classes, since I wasn't really paying attention.

"Hey," Jake tapped my shoulder, as I jumped back with surprise, "sorry." Jake apologized.

"It's fine, I just didn't see you coming, that's all." I replied, shrugging.

"So did you do anything?," Jake asked, as I frowned, confused. "about the Tiffany-Hannah situation, I mean."

"Oh, that...!" I trailed off, as Jake cocked his head in curiousity.

"I'm going to confront them after school." I sighed, glancing at Jake for advice.

"Okay, that's great. But what about Louis? Have you apologized to him yet? Or talked to him?" Jake asked as he walked with me towards the cafeteria.

"I'll apologize and talk to him after confronting Hannah and Tiffany....if he's right about them spreading the rumours and all." I said, as Jake and I bought our lunch.

"Well, you do think he's right, don't you?" Jake murmured, as I nodded my head.

"I do, I just don't want to believe that he's right. I wanna believe he's mistaken at least, you know?" I said, as Jake nodded in agreement.

We headed towards my locker, and ate our lunches on the floor.

After talking and eating a bit more, it was as if time flew by, because the bell rang for class so quickly.

Thankfully, Jake and I had the same class next, so we walked together to the next class.

I knew that Louis would be here too, and it would be awkward, but I had to deal with it....Or at least until I confronted Tiffany and Hannah, anyways.

I wrote down some notes, fiddled with my pencil, answered questions on the worksheets I was given, and eventually school ended. I grabbed my backpack and put my binder in it, and went onto my phone.

I texted Tiffany to come with Hannah to meet me at the back of the school.

She texted back saying sure, as I headed outside, waiting for them.

A few minutes later, Tiffany and Hannah opened the doors to come outside and saw me.

"Hey, what's up?" Tiffany waved, smiling at me, as Hannah just looked towards the ground.

"Uh, hey, I just....you know about the rumours going on about me?" I hesitantly asked them.

Tiffany slowly nodded. "Yeah, I've heard them a few times, why? Are you going through a tough time because of them?"

"I...Look, I heard from somebody that you guys made the rumours, so I just wanted to ask, did you guys make the rumours about me?" I glanced at Hannah, who wouldn't look me in the eyes, and Tiffany, who looked shocked.

"What? Who told you that? Louis?" Tiffany rolled her eyes.

"Answer the question, Tiffany. And how did you know it was Louis? I never told you who told me that, so how do you know?" I narrowed my eyes at her.

"I-" Tiffany paused, as I made out Hannah whispering, "Tell her, or I will."

Tiffany glared at Hannah for a second, then innocently looked at me.

"Lexi, you're overreacting. Think logically. Do you really think that we, your best friends for years, would do that to you?" Tiffany crossed her arms.

"No," I agreed, "logically, I don't think you guys did it. But it is always possible, which is why I'm asking you. Now give me a straight answer."

"We did it." Hannah blurted out, avoiding eye contact. Tiffany nudged Hannah really hard, then glared at me.

"Yeah, we did do it. But you know what? It was all a joke and obviously you're too sensitive to get it. It was for fun! You can be such a baby sometimes." Tiffany flipped her hair behind her shoulder.

"What the hell? I thought Louis was lying when he said that. You think that was a joke?! What'a wrong with you guys? I thought I had good, trustworthy friends, but I guess I was wrong about that." I shouted, and started walking past them, towards the school doors.

"And I guess I should assume if I made horrible rumours about you with half the people in your grade calling you names, you would laugh along as well?" I paused for their reactions, which was merely just standing there, speechless.

"That's what I thought. Have a great life being toxic." I slammed the school doors shut, as I stormed off towards my room.

Tears were forming as I opened my backpack to reach for my room keys.

My stupid keys were at the bottom of my backpack and now I had to reach further to pull my keys out.

I ripped my keys from the bottom and zipped up my backpack to open my door.

Tears blurred my vision, as I had a hard time seeing where the key opening was.

I heard a few footsteps coming my way, so I wiped my eyes as I shoved my keys into the opening and opened my door.

Slam.

"Ow......" I heard a person groaning. As I slowly stepped back, I saw that I had hit Louis with my door.

Out of all the people it could have been, like, Tiffany, or Hannah, it had to be him. The person I was already supposed to be apologizing at.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry." I apologized frantically.

"It's fine, the pain is bearable." He muttered, looking at me. "Hey, are you okay?" Louis asked me, as I nodded.

"Yeah, um, I'm fine." I said, as I started heading into my room. I paused, then stepped back out of room.

"Actually, I'm not. It turns out you were right this whole time, about Tiffany and Hannah creating those rumours. And I'm sorry for avoiding you and being so rude to you." I said, waiting for a response.

"Oh, that's horrible! And yeah, no worries, it makes perfect sense to trust your friends you've known longer over me. I'm sorry about everything though." Louis spoke, as he awkwardly stood there with a red forehead from my door.

"It's not your fault, I should have believed you." I apologized to Louis, as I kicked my foot at the floor.

"So, uh, friends?" I asked looking up at him, as he smiled.

"Friends."
