Chapter 25

Cassandra looked in the mirror.

She was different.

She felt different.

She had sex.

Aurora stood in the doorway of their bathroom which the two girls shared. She looked at Cassandra, who was so mesmerized with her face to pay any attention to the girl in the door wat.  "Phillip looked happy when he left," she started. Cassandra twisted the ends of her hair.

Cassandra's face was still red from the hot shower. "He was? That's good. I'm glad Phillip is happy."

Aurora's eyes went to Cassandra's finger. "He gave you the ring? That's good. It took us forever to pick it out. You like it?" Cassandra looked down at her finger.

"Yeah, it's beautiful."

Aurora looked down at her feet and back to Cassandra, "so, I'm not trying to pry, but I heard you guys. Well, Phillip, to be more exact."

"Oh," she blushed. "You did? So I guess you know what we did, huh?"

"Yeah, our rooms are right next to one another's, and the walls are pretty thin, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Don't worry. I put in my headphones when I realized what was going on. Um...so, how was it?"

"It- it," a breeze blew through the bathroom sending a chill down Cassandra's body. "I'll tell you everything. But first, can I get dressed first?"

Aurora stumbled back, "sure, sure. I'll wait."

It didn't take long for Cassandra to get dressed, especially with the fact Aurora was outside of her door walking back and forth. Cassandra heard the creaks of her step-sisters feet on the wooden floors outside of her bedroom. She threw on one of her dad's old shirts and opened the door to unveil her stepsister.

Aurora took a seat on the bed, "so...how did it happen? How did it start?"

"Well... we were sitting where you are." Aurora slowly got up from the bed and sat on the chair. "Um, he first gave me the ring." Aurora began to gush prompting Cassandra to stop.

"Sorry, I'm a sucker for some cute romance."

"Yeah...me too. Then he told me he loves me."

"What!? He said he loves you? Did you say it back?" Cassandra nodded her head, not giving Aurora any eye contact. She began to strip her sheets from her bed. "You guys are so cute. Okay, and then?"

"Well, we began kissing and he touched my boob. He apologized and stopped kissing me and then..."

"Then?"

"I told him I didn't mind him touching me, that it sorta felt good that he was touching me. So, he touched me again, and he kept touching me until me our clothes were off and then one thing led to another, and we were having sex."

"Wow...so how was it? Did it hurt?"

"Um... a little bit. It doesn't hurt like people describe it in the movies, and it didn't feel amazing like in those romance books. It's just...I don't know. I don't know how to describe sex. Like it didn't feel exactly good but I blame it on our inexperience."

"Oh...well that's anti-climatic."

"Yeah, we were kissing for three minutes. Took our clothes off, and then he just put it in and a minute later he was done."

"Wow... so it was that quick?"

"Yeah, if I had to describe losing my virginity. It was like getting a needle. Scary before it happened, a bit of pain and then you're done before you know it."

"Wow...you would not make a great spokesperson for sex." Cassandra chuckled, "did you guys use a condom?"

"Of course, I'm not an idiot. I still had the condom from health class last year. So we just used that. Surprisingly, he had no problem putting it on."

"Really?" Aurora let out a sigh, "so...the biggest question."

"I'm not telling you if he was big or not."

"What! Why? We're sisters! You're supposed to tell me."

"No, you're Phillip's friend and it'll be weird if you knew how big his dick is."

"Then... how about this question. How do you feel? Any regrets?"

Cassandra continued to gather up her sheets. She pondered the question. Sex was something she knew would happen, something that she expected to happen with Sebastian.

Cassandra looked over to Aurora. "No. I'm happy, I'm glad I lost my virginity to Phillip. We love each other and he's a great boyfriend, every girls dream," she told herself.

"Well I'm happy for you two. You two are going to be famous pop stars, with me as you guy's producer of course. I can already read the Buzzfeed article, you two fell in love in high school and you guy's album brought you two to the Grammys."

Cassandra snorted, "that'll be the day."

"No, I'm serious. I think Phillip might be your true love. Like you guys have all this stuff in common."

"Not really, we both just like to sing and yes that's a big part of who I am. But that's not the only thing I'm into. Phillip and I don't have anything in common; he usually just goes with what I like."

"Whoa, what are you talking about? You two just slept together and said, I love you. You make it sound like you two won't stay together."

Cassandra readjusted her hold on her laundry. "I'm going to wash these. Want me to wash yours too?"

"No thanks, your mom washed mine the other day."

"Okay," Cassandra said leaving her room. She went downstairs, making sure not to make too loud of a fuss through the house. Her face was still as she descended down the stairs. She didn't notice her mother sitting on the counter with a cup of wine in her hand until she was face to face with her.

"Oh, hey mom, you're home early. Do you and Walter have a date tonight?"

"No, I got off early today. I thought we would go out to dinner tonight. Just you and me."

"Oh, sure. Let me just get dressed then..."

"And then," she said, cutting her daughter off. "I saw Phillip and tried to invite him too. But then I noticed a few things, like the fact that his shirt was on backwards and his pants were barely buckled. Plus, he wouldn't look me in the eyes, and he always looks me in the eyes. Now, I'm not going to assume anything but I have to ask. Did you two?" She started.

Sweat crept up her back, the sheets in her hand began to feel heavy. She readjusted her hold, "yes."

Michelle let out a sigh. She placed her wine glass on the counter, "did you two use protection?"

"Yes."

"Did you pee after?"

"Yes and I showered."

"Good...good. I wish you told me before you were planning to have sex. We could have gotten you birth control earlier, something extra other than just condoms."

"I'm sorry, it sorta just happened."

"Yes, and babies just happen too," Michelle sighed. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound upset. I'm going to make an appointment for you with my gynecologist. She's a nice woman. She has a lot of patients your age, so you feel too uncomfortable with everything."

"Okay," Cassandra agreed. Cassandra put her sheets in the washing machine. "Thanks, mom for not getting upset with me."

"I can't say I'm not upset but you guys are teenagers and this was bound to happen." She picked up her wine glass. "I wish you would have waited a bit longer but Phillip's a nice guy. Plus, his moms would set him straight if he did anything to you."

"Yeah, they would. They almost had a fit when I went over to dinner and he didn't pull the chair for me. Mom, you should have seen it," Cassandra laughed.

"I can only imagine. Those two ladies did a fine job raising him and I'm glad you're with him Cassandra."

Cassandra turned away from her mother. "Yeah, me too," she said low enough it almost came out as a whisper.

Sebastian sat at the dinner table, he picked at the peas on his plate. The small green vegetable that his mother insisted on making made his stomach ache. "Sebastian eat your peas. You're sixteen now, you're no longer a child."

Sebastian played with the vegetable, his plate was completely empty except for the small pieces of vegetables on his plate. Sophia looked at her brother, "mom. Where's dad?"

"At work," she answered stabbing her steak with extra strength. "He's going to be there for a while tonight."

Sebastian knew this tone of voice and aggression all too well. His parents were fighting and she kicked him out for the night. "Aw man, I wanted to tell you guys about Sebastian's new girlfriend." Sebastian dropped his fork, making a loud clanking noise that rung through the dining room.

"Huh?"

"Yeah, one of the girls older sisters was ranting about it. Something about a girl named Vicky dating Sebastian Livingston and how she didn't deserve him. Then they asked me about her but I couldn't say anything because of course my big brother didn't tell me about her."

"Sebastian," his mother murmured. "Are you dating someone?"

His stomach fell, he vowed after Cassandra he wouldn't bring another girl home unless he was marrying them. "Yes," he said. "But, please mom I don't want her to come to dinner."

"Why?"

"Well, because it's still all new, and you guys won't ever admit it but you guys gave me so much crap for breaking up with Cassandra." The two girls looked to one another, "so please, Mom do not make me bring her over."

"I understand, Sebastian. You don't have to bring her dinner. But, if you change your mind, please give me a day's notice."

He picked at his peas, that wasn't an option. Vicky would never meet his family.

"Thanks, mom, I'm glad you understand."

With no hope of Sebastian eating his peas, his mother sent him upstairs. His phone began to blink uncontrollably, from the large number of Snapchat notifications he was getting.

He sucked in his breath when he saw the image of Cassandra's finger with a ring.
