Chapter 17

Sebastian no longer sat next to Cassandra the next day in class. After Cassandra left class in a huff, Mr.Waterford begrudgingly decided it would be better for the two to be separated.

Cassandra smirked when she saw who Sebastian was sitting next to. Mr.Waterford took Sebastian's idea of sitting him next to the smelly kid that sat in the back. It was his way of solving the problem and giving him a good laugh as well.

Sebastian wished he had some of Cassandra's perfume that she carried all the time so he could spray his English partner. The lingering aroma of coconut was no longer next to him, and he missed it with every fiber in his bone.

After class, it took no time for Cassandra to pack her things and go to the choir room, her safe space. No longer was her safe place in her living room with a blanket and music. Her home was overrun with people. People she didn't know the names of until a few days ago. The place that was always known as hers was now gone.

A message came to her phone.

Hey. Its Walter, this is my number. You can save this number. Aurora and I are coming to pick you up from school today. I'm going to be in my police car, Walter texted.

Okay, Cassandra responded.

She arrived at the choir room, Phillip was there wearing a button-down and khakis, that his mother insisted on him wearing. He preferred to wear more comfortable clothing, like hoodies and jeans, t-shirts if it was hotter out. But that particular morning, his mother ordered him to wear something nicer.

"You look nice today," Cassandra said as she took a look at his clothes.

"Thank you. You do too. I like your flowers."

Cassandra bent the bottom of her dress, "Thanks, but this dress is old. I hardly think it deserves any compliments," she assured him.

"No, it looks perfect. Well, you always look good in everything you wear," Phillip sucked in his breath when the words came out. "So, do you need a ride today? My mom wanted me to ask you," he lied.

"Oh, no. My um... my stepdad?" She questioned. "He's picking me up from school."

"Why did it sound like you weren't sure. Is he really picking you up?"

"Yeah... he is. It's just, I sorta just met him a few days ago, and he and his daughter are moving in," Cassandra sighed. "It's a lot." Phillip smiled when he heard Cassandra speak of her home life. It was the first time in the last few days she wasn't either angry or sad. He rested his head on his hand as he stared at her. "And my step-sister is really... I don't know what she is."

"What do you mean?"

Cassandra took a seat in a nearby chair. "Well, for starters, she's completely against the whole thing. Last night, during dinner, she was grilling my mom."

"And you?"

"Me?"

"How do you feel?"

"About the marriage?" Phillip nodded his head, "oh, I don't really care. Mom is happy so that's all that matters to me." Cassandra truly didn't care, if her mom was happy.

She was happy.

"Plus, another thing is everything is so new, and they're moving so quickly. I haven't really grasp everything yet."

"Quick? What's quick?"

"Two days," she admitted.

Sebastian laid in bed with Malia that afternoon. She ran her finger along his collar bone. "So, Sebastian. I really need a prom date."

"Then get one," he yawned. He picked up his phone and began to scroll through his timeline. He stopped when he saw a picture of Cassandra pop up. His finger graced the white heart that would turn pink with a simple click of a button. He bit his lip, as he looked at her smile that was obviously forced to anyone who knew her. But, even with a forced smile, Cassandra still looked absolutely beautiful to him.

Malia groaned, she hit Sebastian's chest making him click the white heart turning it pink. "Fuck," he shouted. He lifted up from the bed and clicked the heart again turning it white. "Shit," he muttered.

"You're a dick." No one asked Malia to prom and she needed a date. Malia asked her usual string of men that she used as bedmates but they all told her no. She knew why. She wasn't pretty enough for them, she was no Adriana, Poetry, or even Casandra. She was Malia, a girl who was good at giving fellatio to whoever asked.

Sebastian stared at his phone, "yeah. I've been getting that a lot lately. Hey, if you accidentally like a picture and then unlike it. Could there be a chance that a person coulda still potentially see it?"

"I don't know. Why?"

"Well, I just liked Cassandra's picture." Sebastian clicked her profile, and none of her pictures were visible. His eyebrow raised, he closed his app and then reopened it. The account she took time to update every day, due to her large number of followers was now non-visible for Sebastian to see. "She blocked me," he uttered.

A noise erupted from Malia's mouth followed by her laughing. Sebastian ran a hand through his hair and stared at the white screen that used to be covered with pictures of her and him, everything was gone.

Cassandra sat in the back of Walter's police car. She had never been in one before so she posted a picture of herself in it. Not even a second later, Sebastian liked it. She recognized him based on his profile picture which featured the two of them kissing came up. The picture had a habit of showing up on her phone due to the fact the two would send one another funny videos they found throughout the night.

She sucked in her breath, Cassandra clicked the block button a few seconds after the notification came from Sebastian. It left a bad taste in her mouth with the thought that he was still watching her after everything he did to her. She didn't want him to ever see her again.

"Dad, are you making dinner tonight?" Aurora asked.

"Yeah, but I don't know what yet. Cassandra?" He looked back at her. She was staring at her phone clicking away. She was steadily erasing every photo of her and Sebastian that she had on her Instagram from him.

Sebastian grabbed Malia's phone from the nightstand and went to Cassandra's Instagram. The pictures of him and Cassandra began to disappear one by one. It was as if their memories were being deleted before his very eyes. "She's deleting all of our pictures now."

"Well, that's typically what happens when you break up."

Sebastian picked up his phone and went to his account. "Well, two can play that game." His own account was riddled with pictures of Cassandra, Sebastian began to delete each picture one by one. He didn't mind it, all of their pictures were still on his phone.

Cassandra switched to Sebastian's profile, she saw their pictures being deleted one by one. She clenched her phone and shook in her chair. "Fucker," she murmured under her breath.

Malia watched Sebastian delete the ninety-seven pictures of the two. Sebastian went to her profile and his finger graced the block button. "Wait, don't do that," Malia stopped him. "You want her to see what you're up to."

Malia took his phone and took a picture of the two. In the picture, she made it apparent the bed was in view and a picture of him and Malia in bed together meant sex and everyone knew it. "Post this, and you're sure to get a rile out of her."

Sebastian sucked in his breath as he looked at a half-naked picture of him and Malia. He went to his Instagram and clicked the newly taken picture, he sucked in his breath. "No."

"You sure? It'll make her really mad."

"No, I'm sure." Sebastian didn't want to make Cassandra any angrier than she was now.

"Well alrighty then, "Malia grabbed Sebastian's penis and began to stroke it. Sebastian sucked in his breath, "so about prom. You would be the best," she picked up her pace. "You would be the best guy in the entire world if you went with me." Sebastian leaned back and watched her. She eased her mouth to it, "so what do you say?"

He sucked in his breath, "sure." Malia smirked and her mouth fell onto it.

Cassandra stared at the food in front of her. She wasn't the slightest bit hungry. Gabrielle and Amy made it apparent that she told Cassandra.

Michelle dug into her food, she took some glances at her daughter, she knew it was Sebastian related. All of her daughter's moods were related to Sebastian in some way.

"When I was on patrol today. I scouted out a few houses."

Michelle leaned towards Walter, "really? Any good ones?"

"Well, one in particular. I think we should see tomorrow after work... as a family."

"A family?" Aurora said.

"Yes a family, all of us. It's pretty nice, three bedrooms, two baths, big backyard. Two-car garage, great location, even has a pool," he adds.

"A pool?" Cassandra spoke up.

Walter nodded his head, "yes a pool." He looked to Aurora, "and a big backyard. Maybe big enough for a dog." Aurora held back her smile. She always wanted a dog, since she was a little girl but her grandmother's home didn't have the luxury of a big enough backyard. "It's a really nice place, and it's in our budget too, well a few grand under." Walter took a bite of his dinner and the girls held in a smile.

After dinner, Cassandra watched Aurora blow up the air mattress. "I don't mind sleeping together, you know feet to head. Head to feet, plus this is a queen. We both would have plenty of room."

Aurora turned off the air pump. "You sure you won't mind."

"No, it's fine. I know sleeping on the floor sucks." Aurora got into the bed, Cassandra passed her two out of the four pillows that were settled on her bed. "Comfortable?"

"Yeah." Aurora turned towards the door, with Cassandra's feet behind her. "So, how did your dad die?"

Cassandra sucked in her breath, "work accident. How did your mom pass?"

"Childbirth, her and my twin brother died together."

"You're a twin?"

Aurora nodded her head, "yeah. My parents were going to name him Aiden."

"I'm sorry that happened."

"It's alright. I never met them."

"But, it must be a little sad."

"I guess, but you can't exactly be sad about missing something you never had." The room went silent after Aurora said that. Cassandra picked up her phone and scrolled through her Instagram. "So, I was wondering. What happened between you and your boyfriend?"

Cassandra stopped, "we had different views on things."

"Different views? Come on, you can tell me what really happened. Look at us, I think we're close enough for you to tell me what really happened. Ever since Michelle told me about your break up over dinner. Every time I've seen you you've either looked pissed or depressed. Well, of course, other than when dad talked about the pool. So, spill what really happened?"

Cassandra dropped her phone on her chest, "okay but you can't tell my mom." Aurora got up in a sitting position and Cassandra did the same. Cassandra looked down and sighed, "are you a virgin?"

Aurora nodded, "yeah. But, I've been felt up once or twice but that's it."

"Well...I am too and Sebastian didn't exactly want to make that last for much longer."

"Okay," Aurora trailed on.

"So," Cassandra sniffled. "He broke up with me."

Aurora placed her hand on Cassandra's shoulder. "What a dick."

"I know," Cassandra's eyes began to water.

"Did you tell him that?"

"Yeah," she laughed followed by wiping her tears. "And I called him an ass too. Plus, I didn't even tell you the best part about our breakup." Aurora shuffled in the bed. "A day after he broke up he went to go sleep with someone else."

"What!"

"Right! He just threw away his virginity to some random girl and he didn't even try to hide it from me. He just got into her car, and let everyone watch him drive off."

Aurora looked at her step-sister and tapped her chin. "Maybe we should get even."

"Even? Aurora, I'm not going to sleep with some guy."

"No, no, I'm not saying sleep with some random guy. I'm saying, let's just show him what he's missing, stir the boys at your school a bit."

"What do you mean?"

"First things first, is he blocked?" Cassandra nodded her head, "well unblock him." Cassandra went to his page that only had five posts now, her finger graced the unblock button. "Go on," Cassandra clicked it, allowing Sebastian to see her again.

"What now?" Aurora took the phone from Cassandra's hands.

"Okay, I'm going need you to take your shirt off and get under the blankets."

"Huh?"

"Take your shirt off and get under the covers. I'm going to take a really sexy picture so he'll see what he's missing."

"I-I'm not too sure about this."

"Cassandra... he fucked someone, not a day after you guys broke up. This is your way of getting back at him."

Cassandra swallowed the spit that was forming in her mouth and took off her shirt. "God, I would kill for your boobs."

Cassandra chuckled and got in the bed. "Good," Aurora moved the covers to show off a bit of Cassandra's cleavage. Cassandra extended her arm, "now look into the camera. Look at sexy as humanely possible." Cassandra did as she was told. Aurora took a total of five pictures. She smiled as she stared at them. "Okay, this is hot."

"Let me see," Cassandra urged as she put her shirt back on.

Cassandra looked at the sensuous picture of her. She would have never taken a picture of herself like this in a million years. Aurora went to Cassandra's Instagram page and hit the plus sign at the very button. "Wait," Cassandra called out when Aurora got to the caption button. "I-I don't think this is a good idea. It won't be just Sebastian seeing this and what are people going to think?"

"They're going to think damn, Cassandra is hot and Sebastian is an idiot for letting her go. And that's going to make Sebastian lose his goddamn mind."

She bit her lip, "you sure?"

"I'm positive, and this caption is going to be the cherry on top."

~

Sebastian was exhausted by the three rounds of sex with Malia, a very hostile dinner, and two hours worth of homework. He laid in his bed and scrolled through the endless social media photos.

Sebastian scrolled though his phone until his finger graced a photo of Cassandra. He squinted his eyes and closed then opened them again. It looked like Cassandra but he couldn't believe it.

She never took photos like that before.

Her cleavage was on full display and there was a seductive look on her face. He never saw her look like this before, it stirred something in his pants.

He read the caption

On to better things

A series of questions what through his mind.

What made her take this picture?

What are these better things?

And the biggest of all, who the hell took this picture of her?

Sebastian, then looked to the number of likes which made him drop his phone.

In ten minutes, Cassandra got four hundred likes.

And all four hundred of them were potential guys that could whisk Cassandra away and that brought Sebastian nothing but anger.
