Y/N POV

I'm in the middle of some paperwork when my alarm goes off.

Alerting me that it is time for me to meet my future husband.

I've been dreading this day.

I've tried to not look him up.

I bet he is one of those spoiled rich kids that think they are GOD's gift to earth.

As  I begin to get my stuff my best friend walks in.

"It's time, huh?" He says sympathetically.

"Yup Time to face my Doom," I say dramatically with a smile on my face, trying to make light of the situation.

"I'm sorry Honey Bun," He says, Using the nickname we gave each other as kids.

Johnny has been my best friend since day one.

He is Korean and was adopter by an American family when he was a baby.

I guess because we looked alike and were the only Asian kids we stuck together and we have been inseparable since.

He is literally the brother I've always wanted.

He and his family took me in and treated me like one of their own.

I call his parents' mom and dad as they are pretty much the only parental figures I've ever known.

I hug him and say "It's okay Sugarplum"

I know he feels guilty and hopeless as I feel.

When he found out about the arranged marriage he tried to help me to find any kind of loophole to prevent this marriage from happening.

He even offered to help me run away and change my name.

Shoot, his entire family tried to help but there was nothing that we could do.

I will be bound to this stranger till death do us apart.

That alone was scary AF.

Pulling back I try to give him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry if anything we can always run away"

He chuckles and nods in agreement.

" I have an emergency bag packed already," he says proudly.

" Same dude, same, " I say as we both laugh.

Even under all that humor, our words hole truth.

"Okay I'm out, Wish me luck," I say.

"Good Luck, Don't kill him and bring me Lunch," He says.

"Thank you, I'll try, and sure," I say as I walk out.

Namjoon's POV

I'm sitting  In a small restaurant waiting for my future wife.

I'm a bit surprised by this place, it's intimate and comfortable not too flashy, like the places I am used to.

Not a place I would usually pick but I like it.

She chose it... my future wife.

When my parents told me about this arranged marriage fiasco I was pissed, to say the least.

But I also trust my parents' judgment.

We have a close relationship and they never would do anything that would hurt me or force me to do something I don't want.

Well this being the exception.

But I trust them.

This will also be good for the company so that's a plus.

I just hope she is not one of those fake soiled brats or a slut.

I'm lost in my thoughts when the chime on the restaurant's door announces someone has entered.

I look up and the most beautiful woman I have ever seen enters.

He looks elegant but her style is simple and minimal.

She looks around until her eyes land on me.

She quickly makes her way towards me stopping at my table, giving me once over.

Ha! is she checking me out? Just like every woman out there.

"Are you Kim Namjoon?" She asks in the sweetest voice I have ever heard.

I smirk. She must be her...my future Wife, Y/N.

"Yes, You must be Lee Y/N," I say.

Bowing she says. " Nice to meet you, Mr. Kim"

I get up and bow as well. "Please have a seat, And You can call me Namjoon as we will be married soon"

Wait where did that come from 'call me Namjoon'....ugh.

Get it together man, she is just a pretty face.

I notice that she is checking me out.

Thirsty much?

"Done checking me out?" I ask, a smirk forming on my lips.

"I'm not checking you out....hmm more like examining you? sizing you?" She offers.

And now I'm confused but a bit curious.

" And what have you concluded?" I ask.

" You don't look like a serial killer." She says matter a fact.

I- What? Serial Killer? What the hell... I am gobsmacked.

I look at her trying to figure out if she was joking but she looks like she is serious about this.

Coughing I say " Well I can assure you that I have not killed anyone"

The waitress comes with our menus and walks away.

As Y/N opens her Menu and says "A murderer would never admit to being a murderer"

And I just sit there looking at her not sure what to say as she goes through the menu like we were not just talking about murderers.

A few minutes later the waitress comes and takes our order.

"Can I please have the Salmon and can I have a grilled chicken salad to go Please?" She says.

I want to ask about the extra salad but I don't want to come off as nosy.

"Since we are stuck together forever shouldn't we try to get to know each other a bit before the wedding? I ask.

I am extremely curious about her I want to know more.

"Yeah, we really are stuck together," She says flatly, seeming unamused by our arengement.

And the way she said it made me ask "What do you mean?"

"That there is no way to avoid this marriage I tried to find some sort of loophole but we are really stuck," She says.

I am shocked by her revelation.

Not only is she completely different from any other woman I have encountered but she is honest and intriguing.

And there is also the fact that she doesn't want to marry me?

Not to sound conceited but women are always trying to get in my pants just to get to my money.

It's annoying, to be honest, and it has made it hard to trust anyone.

"Since it will be us from now on I think we should set some rules," She says all business-like, I gotta admit that I like that.

I nod in agreement. "Sounds good"

Our food arrives and we take a few bites before she goes on.

"I'm a little old fashion I guess but I respect what marriage means and although neither of us wants this I have enough respect for you as my future husband to be faithful to you. I hope you could have the same curtsy. Ugh... what I'm trying to say is that I think we should be faithful not just out of respect but also because  it would be terrible if any dirty laundry were to be exposed." She says.

She looked uncomfortable asking this but I have to agree with her.

Infidelity is a big no-no for me.

"I take monogamy seriously and I respect you enough as my future wife to not make you and our family's look bad even if our relationship is not like that," I say.

She nod.

"My parents said I would have to quit my job and stay at home," She says.

This is my first time hearing this.

And job? She works.

"Job?"I ask.

"Yeah, I work for a living. And I will not quit just because I'm getting married. I didn't spend  5 years in college just to stay at home twiddling with my thumbs all day" She says.

And I have to say I am impressed she went to college and wants to keep working.

I respect that, most of the woman that approaches me they want to trap me and spend all my hard-earned money.

"If that's what you want then I support you," I say and for the first time, she looks surprised.

"After the wedding, we will be moving in together, We have to pick a house," I say.

"You can pick it I'm too busy with work, but I have a few requests," She says.

"And what would those be?" I say

"The house needs to have extra bedrooms. I want my own room. "She says.

Understandable.

"And our place needs to have a big yard" She adds.

A big yard? It's nothing out of the ordinary to request that but I have to ask. "A big yard?" I ask.

"Yeah in the future I would like to adopt at least 2 dogs" She informs me.

Hmm...I'm not mad about that. I love dogs.

"Sound good," I tell her, agreeing to her minor requests.

"Oh! This is non-negotiable but when we move in together I'm bringing my cat with me" She tells me.

She must really love animals.

"Good thing for you I am not allergic, and I like cats," I tell her.

She nods and we continue to make small talk.

I learned that she grew up in America, she has been living in Korea for 2 and a half years and she loves and hates her job whatever that means.

And her best friend is also her business partner.

Looking at her watch she says "I need to get back, I guess I'll see you at our wedding. I'll be the one in white"

Getting her things she bows and walks away.

Moments later I get up too and walk to the register to pay.

"How much is it?" I ask the cashier.

"Umm.. the lady that was with you already paid for everything." The cashier informs me.

And again I am at a loss for words.

I can't remember the last time anyone other than my parents and friends let alone someone from the opposite sex bought me lunch.

People think that because I have money I should always pay, It gets old really fast.

She is different, that's for sure.

Thanking the cashier I walk out with a smile on my face and make my way back to work.

Entering my office I am greeted by my best friends.

"So how did it go? Is she pretty?" They bombard me with questions.

Taking off my jacket I sit and tell them everything about our lunch date.

They were all hauling with laughter once I am done.

"I guess she is right," Tae says.

"About what?" I ask him.

"That you don't give off serial killer vibes," Tae says laughing.

This causes everyone to join him, me as well.

"So what did you think?" Hoseok asks.

"She is very different from the woman I have or we have encountered," I tell them honestly.

"Is she pretty?" Jin Hyung asks.

"She is very beautiful" I admit.

And they all begin to tease me.
