It's a holiday. Why not?

"Why of all times...why...?"

I look at Arthur as I just learned my family was invited to the Business Gala. A gala involving all high ranks in the business coming to celebrate their fortunes and what they've accomplished.

My family - of course - happened to be invited right when Arthur and I show back up. Closer and yet we might get farther considering we both have to bring a plus one.

This is the worst.

Considering him and I are...dating this is the worst timing.

"Arthur who are you going to bring?" My dad asks, and he shrugs as he glanced at me.

"Do I need date?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"It's just mandatory."

"That lame."

My mom gasps, making me snort as he shakes his head.

"I not want to bring anyone. I not like anyone except one person."

"Invite them then." My dad says, Arthur shrugging.

"You might not approve, beside, I not want to go-."

"You're going." I say to him, and he narrows his eyes at me." I'll be bored there without you. All the kids at that place are spoiled and conceited."

Arthur raises his eyebrows, and I roll my eyes.

"And you not?"

"I didn't say that."

"Then what are you say?"

"Hey...the way you said that was adorable - say it again!"

"Then what are you say...? Not make fun of me!" He growled, and I smiled as we kept...somewhat flirting it seemed. By the time we finished we looked at my parents to see them baffled.

"So...who are you inviting William?" My dad asked, looking lost to our whole conversation.

"Not su - I have an idea."

I stand, grabbing Arthur as I pull him to my room. Closing the door and locking it as I smile, rubbing my hands together in a scheme-like fashion.

"What your idea?"

"There is a pretty lesbian couple at our school. If we take one of each we can let them be while we're there and hang. Instead of bringing actual straight girls and getting their hopes up...this is perfect!" I exclaim, Arthur grinning; but suddenly cocking his head.

"But how we trick parents? Do they know they like one another?"

"That's the thing. They'll never suspect a thing when you learn who they are."

Arthur frowns, and I smirk as I nod at my brilliant plan. They'll never suspect once they learn who they are. It shocked me when I learned to, but considering I'm doing the exact same thing...

Genius.

"Bella, Talia; will you two come to the Business Gala with Arthur and me?" I ask, Talia smirking as she went to Arthur immediately. Wrapping her arm around his, and Bella rolling her eyes.

"What's with you asking?"

"Because you two are secretly dating," I admit, making her blush and Talia snicker," Arthur and I aren't innocent either. We both happen to be dating too. I was with him when I was with you."

"I was with her when I was with you... So we both were playing each other..."

"Clearly." I say, not affected as I turn away. Going beside Arthur as I fold my arms." You two can be our 'dates'. Once we're there you two can go off and do your girl things and Arthur and I will do our cool things. I'm asking this as a favor."

She snorts, and I glare at her.

"You owe me. You don't think I didn't know about you two? I'm smarter than the two of you combined, so you owe me for cheating on me first." I snap, and she smirks.

"Fine. But I want proof. Proof that you two are actually da-." Arthur and I easily kiss in front of her and Talia. The both of us pulling away as he playfully smacks my cheek over and over.

When we look she was blushing.

"Fine, we'll do it."

"You were going to do it even if you didn't agree or not. I'm just being nice, you haven't seen my mean side."

"Yes I have. With how you treated-."

"Shut the fuck up." I sneer, making her roll her eyes." The gala is this Saturday. So come to our place at 6:00 sharp and be prepared. Look dazzling and beautiful, because him and I deserve beautiful fake dates."

Talia laughs, Bella looking off.

"Well look sexy and handsome, because her and I deserve hot fake dates." Talia purred, Arthur smiling as he nods.

"For sure."

We all walk away, and I playfully shove him as he looks down at me.

"How's that for a plan?"

"It good. I like it. I just not know what gala about."

"What does it sound like?"

"Sound rich."

"Exactly."

****Saturday 6:00 PM****

I glance at Arthur as Bella and Talia walk up the front stairs to our house. Shaking my head I kind of wish it wasn't her, but it's the only convincing way.

"What wrong?"

"Bella. I don't want to dance with her."

"But this your plan. Beside," he stood in front of me as he took my hands, grinning,"you say when we get there they separate off. It be just us. Then will it be worth it?"

I smile, nodding as I hug him. Never really one to do sappy shit like this with my girlfriends. Mostly had to act more manly it seems and be something I'm not.

I mean, I'm myself, but then I'm not...

Arthur just brings out the best in my opinion.

The door bell rings, and we pull away as we go to the door. Opening it as we stand in front of them, Bella having her arms folded and Talia smiling.

"Hi." Arthur says first, grinning as he grabbed her hand. Kissing Talias knuckles and she smiles, Bella extending her hand and I turned away from it.

"Why can't you act gentleman-like, like Arthur?" Bella whined, and I glanced as he had Talia enamored by him.

"Maybe because I choose not to?" I hiss, making her roll my eyes." Don't want to give you false hope." I sneer, making her snort.

"Never in a million-."

"You guys have your dates - William I thought you broke up with Bella? Arthur..." My mom shook her head as she stared at us. I knew they didn't like either of them, but she thinks they're straight. Everyone does.

"Is there a problem Mrs. Moretti?" Talia asked, making my mom sneer.

"Not at all. Hope you four know you have your own ride, I'm not sharing one with these two. You know what, you four take the first car. I'll wait." She says, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she's usually never petty like that.

I shrug, taking that opportunity as we walk out. Going to the Escalade as Arthur opened the doors for all of us. Him walking around the car with me until we were in front of one another and he frowned.

"Why mom hate them so?"

"Because they're bitches. Who wouldn't hate their fake asses?" I say, making him shrug.

"They misunderstood."

"So I've heard." I mumble, him opening the door as he let me go in. Sitting beside me he closes the door as the car ends up starting, us beginning to go on.

Watching my house disappear behind us and I smirk, looking to Arthur. The both of us smirking knowingly as the girls have no clue.

"I know that smirk. What are you planning?" Bella asks, and I roll my eyes as I lean near Arthur. Brushing my lips on his ear as I smile.

"Vous pensez qu'ils vont attraper?" ( You think they'll catch on? ) I whisper, pulling back as I bit my lip.

"Je ne veux pas offenser, mais pas moyen." ( I mean no offense, but no way. ) He chuckles, and I nod as I glance at them. Seeing the two of them staring at us and I lean my head onto his shoulder.

"What are you two saying?" Bella asked, and I shrugged.

"Gibberish."

"Doubt it. Thought you were smarter than the two of us combined? If you were, you wouldn't just be speaking gibberish."

"I'm surprised you took my words to heart. Shows me what flicks your fancy-."

"You're disgusting." She hissed and I smirk as Talia laughs, Arthur shaking his head in disapproval.

"Kidding. Besides, what we said is none of your business."

"Clearly...when are you two going to have sex?" She suddenly asked, and I felt my face heat up as I looked at Arthur. Him looking out the door and not even paying mind to her question.

I clear my throat, deciding that I'm going to try to flip this question onto her.

"Have you and Talia done the deed?"

"Yeah. That's why I'm asking and if you and him did it."

"You nosy ass bitch, no we haven't!" I snap, Arthur finally looking.

"You want to do it?" He asks, and I just think about what that would look like. It's obvious to me that I'm not going to be top - if I was to have sex with him. To be honest, I don't think I'd want to either... Doesn't that...I don't know...lower your masculinity a little...?

"I hear women get more beautiful after have sex," he ran his fingers along my cheek, grinning as I blush," Maybe that apply to men as well."

I hear Talia squeal and I shake my head. Embarrassed out of my mind, but also happy so that they can see he's mine.

When we finally get to the gala I watch as I see a red carpet going up the stairs and through the entrance to inside. People getting pictures and I smirked as I stepped out the car.

Walking forward Arthur was helping them out the cars and I was just waiting until they were all with me.

"Such a gentleman." Bella sneered, and I smile.

"Thank you, I try." I say sarcastically, and we go forward as we head inside. Arthur baffled by all the cameras, making me want to laugh as he was just stone faced but his eyes said a thousand words.

Once inside we went to our table, seeing my family name engraved onto the table. Making me smirk, I suddenly saw someone's finger run along the mark.

"This cool. This not last name?" Arthur asked, and I sighed.

"This is my last name. William Moretti." I state, and I see him looking out at the dance floor.

"I wanna dance." He says, facing me and I blush.

"What-?"

Arthur takes my hand, pulling me into the crowd as I shook my head in panic. Realizing what he was doing as we edged closer to everyone else.

"Arthur we can't do this right now." I say, making him frown as we were now in the middle. People beginning to look at us, and I began to see the girls walking towards us.

"Why not? You not want anyone else to see us?" He asks, and I don't want to answer that question." I thought you say you not care anymore. That you try-."

"This is different-!"

"How this any different?"

"Because we're in a Gala full of well-known people and the two of us doing this right now isn't what my parents need."

"But this about you."

"Not today-!"

"You two need to stop, you both are arguing like a teenage couple." Bella interrupted, grabbing my hand as Talia grabbed Arthur's.

Suddenly pulling us away, his back went to me as him and Talia began to dance. I looked at Bella, seeing her grin as we began to dance.

Dancing here it went back to just everyone dancing, and I wasn't comfortable with this. We eventually fell in line with everyone and Arthur and Talia were on the other side.

While Bella and I were boring, him and Talia were dancing their hearts out. Him swirling her around and them both having fun. Arthur glancing at me and nodding, facing Talia as they smiled. But I felt my heart tighten, making me shake my head.

"You're jealous."

I look down, seeing Bella looking at me.

"No, I'm not-."

"When your jaw is clenched your either thinking hard or jealous. Right now, you're staring at Arthur having fun with Talia. You're. Jealous."

I blush, not willing to admit it as we continued to dance.

"If I was jealous...would...no that's not - ugh!" I cry, realizing I couldn't even lie straight about my jealousy. Making her laugh as I shook my head.

"So this is what it truly looks like when you're jealous over someone?" She asked, and I looked off, knowing what she's applying." Now I feel a little jealous myself. You were never jealous over me."

"Sorry not sorry." I say, having to spin her around in the crowd as it was part of the routine.

Then it got quiet, the both of us having an awkward moment. Neither of us thinking about the other, only focused on the person on the opposite side of this dancing circle.

Both of them so eccentric and he has the best poker face. The best at pretending...

"Wanna wall over there and get Arthur?" She asks, and I look at her as she grins.

"You serious?"

"I mean...it hurts. But I know you like Arthur way more than you ever liked me. That's for sure." She says, and I just look at her. Letting her process it, then she looked up at me." We both need to get our intended dates."

I smirk, knowing exactly how.

"Okay. Let's go."

I let her go, stepping out the circle as we were now in middle. Her and I hugging, then we pulled away as we rushed to them.

Arthur looking at me and Talia looking at Bella.

I just saw Bella fling herself at Talia. Arthur and I watching as they hugged. Then I turned to Arthur, seeing him smirk at me.

"Want dance?" He asked, and I blushed as people's eyes were on us. But I nodded, and he took my hand as he pulled me towards him. His hand going around my waist and pulling me close. Making me get in the position a woman would be in for dancing.

Him smiling and I rested my hand on his shoulder.

"Ready?"

"Yeah..." I say quietly, and he suddenly pulls us back in the dancing circle. Eyes not as focused but I saw them, almost making me want to pull-.

"Not focus on eyes. Focus on two of us," He whispered into my ear," They judge if you allow it. Act like it just you and I. Nothing else matter unless you happy."

I smile, him pulling back as he looked down at me.

"Thanks. Needed that."

"Did you?"

"Yep."

"I happy you happy. If sad...what point?"

I nod, still smiling as we danced along. Talia and Bella behind us.

"You're so...romantic." I murmur, making him smile.

"Est-ce une mauvaise chose?" ( Is that bad a thing? ) He purred, making my face get warm.

"You say French at the most oddest times... Makes it that much better." I muse, making him chuckle.

"What can I say? I mystérieux like that." ( mysterious )

I scoff, and he shrugs as the music stops. We pull back, everyone clapping in curtesy at the dance and music. Arthur trying to out-clap everyone it seemed as he wouldn't stop clapping until my hand covered his.

We all went to our seats, meeting my parents as they sat at the table. In the very front, meaning almost how important they were. The farther back your table is, the less important you are... That's kind of how the system in here works.

"You two were cute." I hear my mom say, and I look at her as she nods at Arthur and me." You two were probably playing a game - I don't know! - but it was cute."

I snort, seeing Arthur grin.

As we waited there was just talking going around, and I had nothing productive to say or do so I sat here. Arthur along with me in the quiet train as we didn't say anything.

"I bored." Arthur says to me, and I nod as my parents are having a conversation with another family. Bella and Talia are off in their own world. Then it's Arthur and me.

"What should we do?" I ask, and he raises his eyebrows.

"I not know... How big is place? Has to be big. This room big."

"It's huge. It's practically a ballroom that's two football fields long. It's pretty big." I state, looking around and now realizing that it was big.

"That mean there parts that not explored... I bored, you bored. We wait right now... How about we explore the castle?"

I snort, laughing as my parents glance at us. Then I have myself cracking up at his cute words.

"Don't over exaggerate, it's not a castle... But we are bored... Why not explore this place." I say, and he smiles as he hops up. I look around as people stare and he begins to walk towards the other side of a different door.

I've seen it before but I never had the guts to just go look...

I stand, going after him as he pushes through and I slip through. Then once the door closes, I see that we're in a dark hallway, one chandelier at the very end of the hall. Seeing two staircases that led to two different parts.

The light barely reaches us, but it was enough that I could see his face and he could see mine.

He grabbed my hand, kissing my fingers as he walked backwards. Pulling me along as I smiled, letting him walk us deeper into the hall. The darkness encasing us as the light faded.

Until I couldn't see him or myself, just felt his lips on my hand.

"Lights should be back here. I can't even see you." I say, and I hear him chuckle.

"That best part. You not need to me. This enough. I not see you, I imagine you and you still look perfect."

"You need to stop flattering me so much."

"Impossible. There so much I can flatter."

"Can't I try to flatter you?" I find myself asking, and I can't see his reaction but I imagine him smiling.

"That question? You do whatever you want. I happy hearing voice."

I blush, nodding as I bit my lip.

"You're very good looking. You know you're well-liked. You're nice without trying and you always bring me up. Your heart is sweet and your words are sweeter. You make me feel good emotionally and physically and that's saying al of considering how we first started out... Merci Beaucoup for falling for me..." I murmur, smiling as I feel so fuzzy.

I want to see his expression and I can't see anything. I don't know what he's thinking and what he looks like or how he's reacting to my words.

Knowing he was reacting, I felt his hand grip mine tightly. Feeling myself being backed into a wall and it was perfect it seemed as the light hit our faces at a angle. Letting me see him in front of me and he was grinning.

"Tell me something." He whispered, and I nodded as if I was under his spell. Looking into his eyes as his hand cradled my cheek. Almost mesmerizing as his brown skin contrasted mine and made almost art in my head.

"Avant que je te rencontre, dis-moi comment tu étais. Je ne peux plus le dire. Je suis tellement ... entiché de toi maintenant je ne me souviens plus du toi alors. S'il vous plaît, informez-moi, rappelez-moi." ( Before I met you, tell me what you were like. I can't tell anymore. I am so...infatuated with you now I don't remember the you then. Please, inform me, remind me. ) He says, making me smile.

"I don't-."

He suddenly kissed me, pressing a small kiss on my lips. Making me blush again as he grinned.

"I can hear it."

"I was horrible-."

"No-."

"Yes. I was horrible to you and I was wrong for that. I was mean and I don't think I helped the situation with somewhat lying."

He frowned, and I froze.

"Lying about what?" He asked, and I looked away.

I didn't mean to bring it up. See! I was under his damn spell and didn't even realize what I was saying.

In the very beginning of me starting to like him...I wanted to at first have him fall for me hard so that I could hurt him and his heart. But I don't have those intentions anymore!

"It's nothing-."

"It something of bring up." He interrupts and I shake my head.

"It doesn't even matter anymore! It was a long time ago and I don't have those intentions anymore. I like you-."

"Yes, but what were your past intentions?"

"None of your business." I hiss, only
