"Today I'm supposed to meet Angelica."

Kai's head shot up from where his phone as soon as he heard the words leave Nicolas's mouth They were in their hotel room just chilling after they came back from grabbing breakfast.

"What?" Kai asked, staring at Nicolas.

"My mom informed me that I have to meet her in two hours." Nicolas said moving closer to Kai so he could wrap his arms around him but Kai pushed him back with a scowl.

"And you decided to tell me this now?" Kai demanded and Nicolas had the decency to look a bit guilty.

"I did not want to ruin your mood." He said softly trying to reach his arms again only to be rejected again.

"Well you did! I told you, you can't be with her! You're only mine." Kai shouted and Nicolas grinned at his possessiveness but it only ticked Kai off more.

"Baby." Nicolas said, trying to control his urge to laugh. "I'm not trying to be with her. You didn't let me finish. We are going to meet her."

"We?" Kai uttered in confusion and Nicolas nodded, finally having the opportunity to wrap Kai in his arms.

"Mhmm we're going to go and we're going to tell her about us. If she backs out of the deal, there's nothing my mom can do about it." He explained.

"What if she doesn't want to back out?" Kai asked, tightening his hold on his boyfriend.

"I don't think that will happen." Nicolas assured and Kai pulled away and looked up at him skeptically.

"How could you know that?" He asked.

"Well...I might have heard some stories about her and I don't think she's the type to want to be with someone who's in a relationship. She has her morals and she has a lot of power." Nicolas said and Kai frowned.

"If she has power why'd she agree to this in the first place? And isn't she like 17?" He asked and Nicolas shook his head.

"She's 19 and the reason she agreed is because of her father, she has a lot of respect for him so she abided to his wishes when he asked her to meet with me at least once." Nicolas answered.

"Okay we can try." Kai agreed and Nicolas smiled, gently stroking his cheek.

"Even if this doesn't work, I'm only yours Kai. You're the only one I'll ever be with, okay? I love you and only you." Nicolas murmured, kissing Kai's temple.

"I love you." Kai mumbled, burying his face in Nicolas's neck.

Nicolas and Kai sat at a table in a small but quite fancy restaurant as they waited for Angelica to arrive. Kai nervously fiddled with his fingers but Nicolas grabbed his hands under the table to stop his movement.

"Don't be nervous, love." He said and Kai nodded, trying his best to relax.

The door of the restaurant opened and Kai looked up and his jaw dropped at the sight. To say Angelica was gorgeous would be an understatement. She was utterly stunning.

As soon as she walked in it was like she owned the room. She was wearing a black fitted tailored suit and her wavy brown hair was tied in a high ponytail. Her dark skin was glowing under the restaurant's dim lights and her honey eyes roamed the seated people until they landed on Nicolas who raised his hand to let her know it was him she was supposed to meet.

Kai was still dazed at how beautiful this girl was but when he glanced at Nicolas he didn't seem fazed. To be honest, Kai wouldn't have minded if he had been because he certainly was dazzled by her beauty.

Maybe I'm bisexual.

She walked over to them and one of her eyebrows arched at the sight of both of them but she set her handbag on the table and sat down. Even the way she sat down was graceful, Kai thought to himself.

"I was assuming my father wanted to set me up with one man? Was I wrong?" She asked, her voice oozing authority but also held some softness.

"You weren't. I'm Nicolas." Nic said, raising his right hand for a handshake which she took in her own smaller hand.

Kai's stomach churned with anxiety as she started at Nicolas with a calculating gaze. There was no doubt that Nicolas was handsome and that if put together these two would look absolutely beautiful.

Kai squeezed Nicolas's left hand to calm his nerves just as Angelica turned to stare at him.

"And you are?" She asked, tilting her head to the side and Kai shuffled in his seat as he tried to find the words to explain who he was.

"This is Kai. My boyfriend." Nicolas answered when Kai didn't say anything and Angelica's face morphed into surprise before settling back to an unreadable expression.

"Boyfriend?" She asked her gaze fixed on Kai and he nodded.

"This makes things very easy then." She said leaning back in her seat.

"Huh?" Kai blurted out in confusion.

"I had no intention in dating you, even if you are this good looking." She told Nicolas.

"Um thank you?" He said.

"Why did you agree to this then?" He asked and she sighed.

"I could not refuse my father. I promised him to at least give you a chance but since you're already taken there's no need to continue this." She said.

"Wait." She suddenly said. "Why did you agree to this?"

"I didn't." Nicolas told her. "My mom has a rather hard time to understand the meaning of no."

"Ah, I see." She said looking at him with a hint of sympathy.

"Well I will talk to my father and tell him you are of no interest to me." She informed them and Kai's body dropped in relief.

"Besides." She continued, and a small smile coated her features. "I have someone I want to pursue anyways."

The expression on her face wasn't one of gentleness or innocence. It was an expression rather sinister and Kai prayed for whoever this girl was after, because she was not going to let them go easily.

"I'm off then. It was nice to meet the both of you but I have some engagements I have to attend to." She said, standing up from her seat. She shook both of their hands and then with a final friendly smile she took off.

"That...was easier than I thought." Kai breathed out and Nicolas nodded.

"I'm glad it was." Nicolas said.

"Now..." he trailed off. "We have to meet my mom."

"Right." Kai said, sitting up straighter.

"I don't have a plan for that one though." Nicolas sighed in distress but Kai smiled.

"I do!" He exclaimed.

"You do?" Nicolas asked with raised eyebrows and Kai nodded.

"We should leave this place though, I'll tell you about it as we walk." Kai told him and Nicolas nodded getting up behind him.

They walked out of the restaurant and started walking with their hands tucked together in Nicolas's pocket.

"I thought about it and you said your mom doesn't want people to know about you being gay right?" Kai started off and Nicolas hummed.

"What if you tell her that you will come out to her business associates? Obviously you don't have to but to scare her you know?" Kai suggested but quickly added, "I won't let you do it alone. You can tell her that you will tell them about us, not just you."

Nicolas stopped when he heard that and turned to Kai. "What if she doesn't believe it and we actually have to do it?"

"Then we'll do it." Kai smiled up at him.

"But.. but you-you don't like people talking about you?" Nicolas said in confusion.

"I would do it." Kai promised. "For you. It doesn't matter what people say as long as you're with me. I don't care about anything else, I just want to bring you back home."

And then Nicolas leaned down and kissed Kai straight on the lips in the middle of New York's busy, bustling street. And Kai kissed him back with just as much feelings.

"I love you." Nicolas said against his lips and Kai smiled.

They walked back to the hotel and then Nicolas got the car ready and they drove towards where his mom was staying. Nicolas refused to stay in her condo with her as he was still furious with her for doing what she did.

When they arrived they walked in the building and then took the elevator up to her floor.

"My mom doesn't know you're here." Nicolas said right before knocking on the door and Kai froze.

Kai wanted to punch Nicolas but he was too panicked to do so and before he knew it the door opened and there stood the woman who called herself a mother.

"Nicolas." She greeted with a smile but then she shifted her eyes to Kai and her face dropped.

"Kai? What on earth are you doing here?" She demanded.

"Won't you invite us in?" Nicolas asked, ignoring her question.

"I..." She stuttered but Nicolas grabbed Kai's hand and pushed past her and walked right in.

He sat on the couch and Kai was about to sit next to him but Nicolas pulled him by the wrist so he landed sideways on his lap.

"What are you doing?!" Kai whispered-shouted but Nicolas only winked.

"Shhh, go along with it angel." He said wrapping his arms around Kai's waist and leaning his chin on his shoulder while he stared at his mother who was now turning red in anger with innocence.

"Mom as you already know this is my boyfriend Kai. I figured it's time you guys meet officially hm?" He said and his mother gaped at him.

"Nicolas!" She shouted and Kai winced. "You-you were supposed to meet Angelica and tell me good news. Not-not this!" She said pointing at them in disruption.

"I am here to tell you good news." He smiled.

"Angelica has no interest in me whatsoever. It's so sad, really. You will probably get a call from her father soon." Nicolas said with a ridiculous pout and Kai hid his red face in Nicolas's neck.

He felt Nicolas's lips press a kiss against his hair and then he heard a phone ring.

He heard Luciana's footstep go away into another room and he peeked up to see her disappearing behind a door. He glanced at Nicolas who was grinning at him and he let a small giggle slip through his lips.

"She's so mad." Kai whispered and Nicolas hummed in contentment.

A few minutes later she walked back in, her hand clutching at the phone and her face filled with rage.

"How dare you?" She hissed. "Do you know how much trouble I went to strike up that deal with them?"

"I. Don't. Care." Nicolas said, dropping his smile, now glaring at his mother.

"You had no right to interfere with my life like that." He said and Kai rubbed his back for comfort as he noticed how tense Nicolas was getting.

"I'm going back home with Kai in two days." He added and she shook her head.

"You will not!" She exclaimed. "You will stay right here, away from this boy, and-and I will find someone else for you!"

"Mom." Nicolas sighed. "I don't understand what is wrong with you, but you need to understand you cannot control me."

"I am your mother!" She screamed and Kai truly thought that she had some serious issues because at the moment she was acting completely insane.

"Yes. But that does not give you the right to do any of this. Besides, I'm turning 18 in a couple of months so there will be nothing you can do then." Nicolas said and Kai tensed.

Is he saying that he will stay here till he turns 18?

"But." Nicolas said. "I'm going back with Kai now."

"I won't let you." She declared.

"But you will." Nicolas shot back.

"Or else all your business partners will know what you just tried to do. I'm going to tell them how you tried to take me away from my boyfriend." He told her and her face paled.

"Y-you wouldn't." She muttered, but as she stared at his determined face she realized that he would.

"Why?" She whispered. "I'm trying to do what's best for you, for us."

Her eyes teared up and she started to cry, like cry. Her face crumpled and sobs wracked her body as she slid to the ground.

"D-Don't do this Nicolas." She cried but he remained unfazed.

"Why did you do this then?" He asked, his voice shaky.  "Why did you break us mom?"

"I-I just want the best for you." She hiccuped.

"Kai is what's best for me." Nicolas softly told her.

"B-but he's a boy." She said clutching at her hair and Nicolas sighed.

"He's the one I love. He loves me. He makes me happy." Nicolas said.

She stared at them, at Kai who was still rubbing Nicolas's back in comfort. At Nicolas's arms that were tightly wrapped around Kai's waist as though he was the one who was keeping him together. She stared at Kai who gazed at her son with love and care.

Love and care that she could have never given to her son.

"Fine." She said, getting up. "Go, just go."
