We leave for the mall an hour after school, after promising to take Daphne along. Even though I hate being seen around with a lower class like her, I still had to. It was part of my plan to ruin Gemma once and for all, I don't mind spending ten thousand dollars on clothes I intend not wearing. I'll probably give it to some derelict in the street.

I sat at the back seat in the car with Caroline and Betty, while Daphne sat in the front seat with the driver.

"So what store are we going to?" Daphne asked.

"Abercrombie and Fitch," Caroline suggested.

"It's going to be a party I'll never forget!" Betty exclaimed with a devilish grin.

Seeing Betty so excited about the party makes the butterflies in my stomach dance around. After the incident with Gemma, she grew mutual feelings with us and now she agreed to our plans.

I guess she stops being the good girl. I love this!

The driver secured an empty parking space and turned off the car. We climbed down the SUV and headed toward the building.

"This is so cool!" Daphne clamoured. As we walked into the store, I guess she couldn't still believe she was hanging out with me.

Inside the store, we took an elevator to the third floor. Daphne went straight to the clearance racks. Caroline, Betty and I stared at her, dazzled from the embarrassment. I sigh, regretting my decision.

"Oh. Zoey. This feels like torment," Caroline whispered as she bit her lower lip.

"You didn't think it through before bringing someone of her level with us to the mall," Betty narrowed her eyes with a slight chuckled.

We wandered toward the other side of the shop. The First thing that caught my eyes is a black dinner gown with a crystal sequins. I didn't bother to check the price tag. I love the dress no matter how much it cost.

"Are you going to get it?" Daphne asked, suddenly behind me. "It's too expensive!"

I nod.

She brought out a pair of jean shorts and wave them at me. "These are cute and cheap."

I groan slowly and gave her a shammed smile. "I don't buy cheap things!" I mouthed through gritted teeth.

She reluctantly dropped the clothes back from where she took them. Caroline discovered a pink bikini with a bead design and a price tag of $30, she raised it toward Daphne.

"This will look good on you." She gave her the bikini, she collected it from her gladly surveying it.

"I love this!"

Forty minutes passed before we stroll up to the cash register, our bags filled with  clothes.

Caroline and Betty's purchases come up to $5,500. Daphne's come to $498.33 and mine $6,345. I paid for our purchases.

"I can't believe you guys spend so much money on clothes," Daphne's eyes widened.

I rolled my eyes tempting to ask her to shut up, but I have to continue with the friendly act.

"I know you don't usually go out shopping like this, but live the moment," I told her and she gave me another bright smile.

Caroline bit her bottom lips as we made our way to the car, she was so angry that it became obvious.

"Zoey's after today, let's not make such a mistake about bringing a poor girl, to the mall or anywhere with us again."

I reminisced to her about our plans. The driver collected the bags from us and put them in the trunk of the car, and we got in.

After stopping by to drop Daphne, Caroline, and Betty home. The car finally drives into the parking space. The driver opened the door and I climbed down of the car slowly. As I made my way toward the door I could hear voices of people quibbling and at that moment I felt my stomach grumble.

This can't be happening again.

When I was close to the door, I heard my Fathers voice, ensue by Ashley's. "Dad, please just stop!" Ashley pleaded.

"Your mother is a selfish woman, she doesn't care about this family, she's always goofing off with that man, spending the money I labored so hard for on him!"

"At Least I'm better than you, low-life man, no matter how much you earn in your lifetime, you can't take them to heaven, that's if you're even going to see the gate!" Mom yelled back at him.

I'm not surprised, to see my parents squabbling. It wasn't an unusual thing to me, they do that a lot. If it wasn't about money, then it will be about who's cheating, or who's a better parent. Believe me when I say this. I'm fed up!

I nudged the door open deliberately and walked in. My mom was standing on the stair, Dad was sitting on the couch with Ashley beside him. I felt like I was imperceptible as I walk up the stairs, no one even look in my direction not even mom, whom I almost bumped into on the way to my room.

This is outrageous!

I close my room door slowly and plugged on my earplug, I turn on the music by NF and hum to the rhythm moving my hips from side to side, trying to alleviate the sudden sadness in me. I turned towards the window and bumped into someone. I almost screamed my voice out, I held my chest trying to breathe slowly. Only to figure few seconds later it was my boyfriend. Josh stood by the window with a headphone around his neck, his hair in perfect curls, and his shirt a little rumple. He smiled at me showing off his flawless white teeth, as I tried to calm myself from the sudden shock.

"What the fuck, baby!" I Blurted out. "You scared the hell out of me."

He laughed, and we wrapped each other in a tight hug, I breathe in the scent of his cologne, he let go of me and kissed me.

"What's the commotion between your parent all about again?" He asked.

I sighed. "I dunno and I don't think I want to know either."

He sat on the bed. "I heard you're having a party on Friday night, and you didn't tell me about it."

"I'm sorry, I was so busy I didn't have time to tell you."

Josh stared at me for a while like he was trying to read my mind. "What's this party all about?"

"Nothing," I replied almost immediately. "Just wanted to have some fun with my friends." I sat next to him.

"That doesn't sound like you, I mean, since when did you become so friendly."

I can't tell Josh about my plan to intimidate Gemma on Friday night, he won't support me on that. So I just continued with the lying act. He told me several times how much he understood me and what I can do or not until my phone started blaring with my favorite hip pop song. I pick up the call.

"Hey, Gemma" I said and his jaw dropped. "I bought some nice outfits for you, I gave them to Daphne."

"Thanks, I love them," Gemma said.

"I'm happy you like them, can't wait to see you on them, on Friday night!"

"Gemma, take a look at this!" I heard Daphne voice from the other side of the phone.

"See you tomorrow at school, I gotta go now." She said, as soon as the call ended Josh grabbed my hand and pulled me to himself.

"What's the plan?" He asked giving me a suspicious look. "Tell me!"

I gave him a confuse look. "What plan?"

He held my waist and place a loose strand of my hair behind my earlobe, we stared at each other for some time. But a knock on the door brought us back to our senses.

"You have to go now, before someone sees you," I said and he walked toward the window, he turned to me.

"Not even a kiss before I leave."

I rushed to him and kiss him, he climb down through the window, and I walked to the door rapidly. Mrs. Becca was standing there holding the shopping bags, which I left in the trunk of the car for the driver to bring to my room. I collected them from her and turn to leave but she stopped me.

"Zoey's dinner is ready, be fast before it gets cold."

"I'm eating dinner in my room tonight, so bring my food to me and make it snappy."

"But you know that your parent won't agree with that!"

"Do as I told you to, and don't act like you're the boss of me," I shouted angrily and shut the door on her face.

I stayed up all night after dinner, watching movies and then talking to Josh over the phone. We spoke for hours even though I was feeling sleepy, I continued the conversation with him. Until I fell asleep.

"Wake up sleepy head!" Mrs. Becca yelled and I flinched out of my bed.

"I'm up, okay!" I screamed half asleep. "Stop shouting my name.

She opened the door gradually and walked in carrying a tray of food in her hand, I looked at her still half asleep as she position the tray on the table close to my bed.

I sit up and she sat opposite me, she adjusted the rumpled side of the blanket and covered my expose legs appropriately.

"Zoey, how are you doing?" She asked with a smile, but I didn't offer a word.

"I know you might be feeling bad about your parent's misunderstanding, I just want you to know that everything is going to be alright soon, but you have to..."

"Alright...now leave my room!" I interrupt her and climb down from the bed. "Please take whatever you brought with you, while you leave, I'm not hungry!"

Mrs. Becca's eyes narrowed as she stood up gently, I guess she couldn't believe I was rude to her so early in the morning. When I'm sure she was gone, I went back to bed and let the sleep overwhelm me.

Tell me who cares about school!"

I turned to the other side of the bed, grabbed the pillows on my bed, they were so fluffy I had to hug them tight to myself.

My eyes snapped open and I saw my dad sitting next to me. I can tell by the expression on his face, he didn't look happy and was about to fuss something. I sit up, he gave me a bright smile, his face looking pale and his hand outstretched as he gently took mine.

"Dad," I began. "Did something happen?"

Dad let out a deep sigh and then caress his forehead, exhaling slowly. "Zoey, why didn't you go to school today?" He asked. "Mr. Annie called, saying you've been absent in class and school for about three days now."

I sighed. "Dad, for the preceding few days, I've not been feeling too well."

"Why didn't you tell me, I should have taken you to the hospital for a check-up," Dad stated. "You know I care about you and your sister a lot, I want you two to have the best life and education, I won't be happy if you're being ungrateful toward all my effort." He paused and shook his head. "Like your mother!"

"Dad, I'm not being ungrateful, I care about my education a lot," I lied.

He squeezed my hand and gave me a warm smile. "I'm proud to have a daughter like you." He stood up and walked close to the door before twirling towards me. "It's midday, I've asked Mrs. Becca to prepare something delectable for you."

My eyes widens as my gaze drifted to the clock in my room.

How long have I been sleeping?
