   TW: Panic attacks

Why didn't they fight back though? We learned in middle school that their quirk is much superior to mine, why didn't they just use it to defeat me? Did Ray think I was going to stop? That I could stop? Those questions ran through your head as you continued to rage at yourself on the concrete floor.

"Mouse, it's going to be fine," Dabi said, leaning downwards with his arms out towards you.
"Don't 'mouse' me, it won't work to make me feel any better." That was a blatant lie, and Dabi knew it. He scooped you off the floor, and laid you gently on the bed.

"Well if you're going to cry, at least do it somewhere comfortable." You appreciated the effort he put into taking care of you. Still, you couldn't get your mind off Ray. I could at least ask Dabi a few questions to keep me occupied for the time being.
"When?" You asked.

"What do you mean 'when' mousey? Be more specific."
"When did you fall in love with me?"
He thought for a moment,
"I think I really fell for you whenever you told me that you felt like you needed a purpose. I saw pieces of myself in you, and I think that's really what drew me towards you all those months ago."

"Wow... and we've been dating for almost 3 months now. That's crazy, and so many things have happened in that time."
"I know. Isn't it great though, all the things we've been through have just brought us together."
"Yeah, you're right." Your phone buzzed. On the screen was a breaking news notification. You read the headline aloud.

Local venom hero Void has been hospitalized due to extreme acid burns.

"DOES THAT MEAN THEY'RE ALIVE?" You lit up with the thought, the hope that they weren't actually dead.

"Maybe. Did you want to go visit them mouse?"
"Can we?!"
"Of course. For now though, we should get some rest, you haven't had decent sleep in a while."
"Heh, I guess you're right. Let's get to bed, we can visit Ray tomorrow."

You moved yourself closer to Dabi, letting yourself be enveloped in his warm embrace. Sleep didn't come easily, and you tossed and turned, reminders of your deed flashing in your brain like bombs.

"Hey, hey now mousey. Calm down, I know doing something like that really pains a person, but you gotta relax. Everything is going to be fine, they're in the hospital now, remember? They have plenty of good doctors and nurses to help them while they're there."

Dabi's voice calmed you. Something about his deep voice soothed you. "Everything is going to be fine, mousey."  He held you tighter, and your eyes closed. You turned around and buried your face into his chest as an attempt to block the flashbang of memories.
"Shhh," he said, stroking your hair as you gripped his shirt.

You felt the salt water beginning to trickle from the corners of your eyes. Your heartbeat sped up, and so did your breathing. You were having a panic attack.
