[April 10, 2019]

Two weeks before your surgery and Taehyung was nowhere to be found. He didn't attend his classes for the whole week, Jungkook can't contact him and there were no knocks on your window in the middle of the night.

He was lost. Like thin air vanishing to somewhere nobody knows. Its not the first time that he left you all alone for a long period of time but it was the first time he didn't give you any notice. If he ever didn't give you a notice, for sure the other day he will show up but he didn't.

And now, its like you lost the other half of your soul. Like the way you lost your sight. Like the world is continuesly turning but you weren't moving. Though its only been a week, its like a year without him.

You gulp as you feel your throat tighten and your eyes watering, you shook your head as you try to shake the negative thought out of your mind.

He wanted you to see, he wouldn't leave right before you get your eyesight, right?

"Think positive thoughts, Y/n. Just trust Taehyung." You whisper to yourself as you wait for your Dad to get you in your room.

Today, you'll be leaving for the hospital. You'll be confined in the hospital for a week to monitor your health before you have your surgery. Some food were not allowed for you to eat and certain things too.

Your Dad knocks on your door two times as he slip his head on the opening of your door. He smiled, "Is Taehyung coming?" He asked you.

You fiddle with your fingers, "He will." You held your head up high, confident that the red headed boy won't leave you in this moment of your life.

He promised he wouldn't.

"But we can't wait for him anymore, we have to go." Your Dad said as Jungkook knocked on your front door.

You nod, letting your Dad to guide you downstairs. Jungkook was there, just staring at you and partially emotional. Even though he didn't say it vocally, he always wanted you to see and enjoy things that other normal friends do.

"Jungkook, can you message Taehyung to just go straight to the hospital?" You said as you passed by him, and Jungkook following you and your Dad.

"I will." He said as he fished for his phone on his pocket.

The night came, it will be your first night in the hospital. Your father was sitting on the couch inside your room, eyes closed but you weren't. You were wide awake, still waiting for the red headed boy as Jungkook bid his goodbye before he go home, promising that he will come back the next morning.

The door creaked, you sit up slowly from your bed. Ears attentive as you listen to the footsteps. Your shoulders cave in when you heard that it wasn't him.

"You're awake. I'm here to check on your vital signs." The soft voice came from a nurse that slowly walked to you.

You nodded to her as you slowly lay down, mind still wondering about the red headed boy's whereabouts. Maybe, he's on a trip with his family? Or maybe his father needed him abroad since his father manages a group that is now currently in a world tour.

The nurse was gone after a couple of minutes, leaving you lonely again and with your Dad's snores. The door creaked again and you thought the nurse forgot or left something but your thoughts stopped when you heard that familiar footstep.

A footstep you've memorized as you walk side by side everytime.

A pair of soft lips planted on your forehead and you quickly search for his hand while you try to sit up from the bed.

"What took you so long? I thought you left me." You whisper, not wanting to wake up your sleeping Dad.

"I would never. I had a business I had to take care of. I'm sorry, how are you?" He whispered back as he slowly sat down on the space that was left of your hospital bed.

"I'm fine but I'm a bit scared of the surgery. What if it goes wrong?" You said as he drew circles on the back of your hand.

"It won't. Trust me." He said as he caress your cheeks.

"You have to sleep now. Its not good for you to sleep late." He said as he smiled, you felt him standing up from the bed.

You grasp his hand. "Don't leave me here. You just got here and now you're leaving?" You whimpered.

He pat your head. "I'm not going anywhere. I'll just sit here beside your bed and watch you sleep." He chuckled.

"But I want you here beside me. Come on, its time to sleep Taehyung." You said as you pulled him closer.

"Okay, okay. Anything for my baby." He said as he lie next to you, your head making his arm your pillow.

"Goodnight, Y/n." He whispered then he kissed your head.

"Good night, red headed boy."

The entire week before your surgery was spent with the red headed boy. He didn't leave your side like he promised. He took care of you the whole week, without Jungkook and your father, he was the one who was always there.

Your surgery spread all over your campus, Jungkook told you. Some people are happy about it, turns out many people really wants to know you or be friends with but they were scared of your bullies. And hearing that made your insides at peace.

Atleast now, you feel a little less lonely.

The doctor is now talking to you, preparing you for the surgery that will be held a couple of hours away.

"After the surgery, you will be wearing bandage over your eyes and we will remove it after two weeks." He said as you hold onto Taehyung's hand.

"You're really lucky someone is willing to donate their eyes to you." The doctor said as he smiled at the other people in the room.

You hold on to Taehyung's hand while you wait for the remaining hours to end before your surgery. You can feel your heart beating so fast like it was going to pop out.

The nurses instructed you to lie down before they move you to the operating room, still you hold to Taehyung's hand like you don't ever want to let him go. Like your life depended on him.

Your bed was already moving towards the operating room as the nurse and the doctor push it. Still, you hold onto him.

He whispered encouraging words to you and you could only nod at him, not processing what he was saying. You felt his hand slowly slip as the nurse told him that he needs to stay outside the operating room.

You tried to tighten your grasp but it was futile. You called him, "Taehyung." You whispered.

"I'll be waiting for you, Y/n." He said before the operating room's door close.

You heard the beeping sound of the machine beside you as the door creak of your hospital room. Your eyes were covered with bandage that goes around your head, you hear voices around you.

You recognized them, Jungkook and your Dad then some other unfamiliar voices. Probably the doctors and nurses.

But no Kim Taehyung.

You try to lift your fingers, you try to move your toes and your head. The doctors were alert, they quickly walk up to you, checking your vital signs and asking you random questions but you don't answer any of them as you listen to every voices carefully.

"Taehyung?" It was the first thing you said after your surgery and it made the room filled with silence, only the continues beeping sound was heard.

Nobody answered you.

You inhaled. "Where's Taehyung?" You asked, a little too quickly.

Your father decided to walk up to your side. "Princess, how are you feeling?" He asked you.

"Dad, where's Taehyung? He told me he'll wait. Where is he? I don't hear his voice." You said and your father held your hand.

"Shh. He'll be here. Don't worry." He said as he try to calm you down.

You shook your head. You don't know where the panic comes from but it does, and its overflowing. And you hated it.

"No. No. Where is he? I need to know where he is." You asked them again.

"He'll be here. You just have to wait." Your father said again, brows furrowing.

"Did he tell you where he is?" You asked. Jungkook and your Dad looked at each other, not sure what to do.

Jungkook, gulping, walks to your side too. "Its okay, Y/n. He messaged me earlier that he'll just go somewhere. He asked me to tell you to wait." He said, biting his lower lip.

You relaxed. Somehow, all you needed was assurance that you will be seeing the red headed boy.

But little do you know that everything was a lie. Taehyung never sent a message to Jungkook. He just left. He left after you got in the operating room. The only words he left was to take care of you.

Even though it was a lie, you still believed it. You waited. And waited. Day by day. Each of them passed by without the red headed boy. Still, you waited. You were patient with everything. You ask over and over again if he's there yet but they always change the subject.

"Is he there yet?" You asked again for the 8th time.

"What would you like to see first, princess? Paris or Japan?" Your father asked you out of the blue but you knew what that meant.

The red headed boy isn't here.

"We'll take off the bandage today and you'll be seeing the world again. But you have to stay for a week as we monitor you. And you'll be coming back for a few times after your discharge for the therapy." The doctor says as he slowly unwrap the bandage.

Your eyes slowly flutter open, eyelashes batting as you adjust to the brightness of the lights. The white walls welcomed you, the brown couch on your right sit still, the blankets that cover you were dotted with green. And there stood two men before you.

One that had his arms crossed on his chest and the other had his hands clasped together with a worried look on his face but a bit relief. You tilted your head, the latter was familiar to you.

"Dad?" You ask as you look at him.

He quickly shed a tear. Then a horrible sobbing came along with a dozen sniffs. He hugs you.

"You can see. You can see again. My daughter can see again!" He said as he sobbed on your shoulders while your eyes remain at the boy standing before you.

His eyes were still as it look at you, full of wonder and joy. His body built was perfect, not too thin but lean. His skin was fair, his lips were had sharp edges and upper lips almost disappearing, his nose was pointed and his eyes were round and dark. The same with his hair, it was black.

No sign of the red headed boy.

"Y/n? Its me. Jungkook." His lips quiver and your father let you go.

His lips slowly forms a very deformed shape before he wails. He runs to you and envelopes you into a hug.

"I'm okay, Jungkook. I'm okay." You whispered to him as you caressed his back.

He pulls away, his hand going to his face to wipe away his tears and snot that was falling down, "I know. I just can't believe you can see now." He said in a raspy voice.

You smiled at him. But it quickly disappears as you remember the red headed boy.

"Where's Taehyung? He promised me that he'll be the first person I will see after I get my eyesight back. And I already waited." You ask as you search the room but still, no sign of him.

Both men stood there silent, their eyes doesn't meet yours. "Where is Kim Taehyung?" You asked again but still answered with silence.

You start to tremble. Terrible things started to grow in your mind. You shook it off. He'll never leave you. Jungkook told you to wait for him so that means he'll be back.

Right. He'll be back.

"Jungkook, where is he?" You asked again but Jungkook shook his head.

No. "He didn't leave me, did he?" You asked, your voice almost breaking.

But Jungkook only shook his head again, this time with sad eyes. You shook your head too as you process everything.

"No. No. He won't leave me. He said he wouldn't! He told me that he'll be waiting here. Where is he? Where is Kim Taehyung?" You started to panic, your eyes started to give abnormal tears.

"Where is he, Jungkook?! I need to see him now." You said as you tried to stand up from your bed and he quickly goes to you, holding your shoulder as he try to stop you.

"No! Please. Let me see him. Please! I need him." You plead as your tears start to grow more. You shake off his hand from your shoulder but he shook his head.

"Y/n no. I don't know where he is. He just left. He told me to take care of you. I'm sorry for lying." Jungkook said as he sobbed, tears trickled down his cheeks as he stared at you.

Your doctor tried to calm you down. He doesn't recommend for you to cry or have something in your eyes. But you can't seem to stop it.

Everything was echoing inside your head. His promises. His never ending promises that he wouldn't leave you. And the words that Jungkook said. He just left.

He left.

The red headed boy left. You sob as you feel your heart aching. If having your eyesight again means losing him, then you'd rather be blind forever.

Everything was so hard to grasp. Your memories of him wasn't enough. His voice and his touch were the only thing that was left in you. You didn't even saw his face. How can you remember him? How can you remember the red headed boy?

You cried as Jungkook hold your shoulders, your father caress you back and the doctor trying to make you stop.

Taehyung, you bad guy. You said you wouldn't leave me.
