I was the only one in the shower rooms, but I also realized that I was the only person in training that was on this side of the compound. All the other trainees, like Alyvia and Winnie had gone down a different hallway.

I guess having the shower rooms to myself at the moment was kind of nice. I didn't have anyone to worry about and showering with other people in the same room made me feel extremely self conscious.

I stripped from my sticky clothes and laid them in a pile right outside of my stall door. When I took my pants off, something clanged against the floor and I looked down to the sudden realization that I still had that fork with me. The 'souvenir' from the first fight that I had ever won.

The stained blood was crumbly, dry, and smeared across the teeth.

Should I wash it?

Yes. Yes I should. Having a bloody fork is very disgusting, I think the bent teeth is enough to remember my victory.
.   .   .
The cafeteria was more crowded than I usually saw it. I also came right in the middle of the usual lunch time, when everyone was eating.

I found the table that Alyvia was sitting at along with Aaro, Winnie, and the other trainees that I didn't really remember the names of- Cade was sitting at a table by himself against the back wall. Not often did I see him outside of the training room.

Alyvia greeted me, and the others moved their chairs to make more room, unexpectedly.

I sat in between Alyvia and someone I didn't know, not bother to grab any food at the time.

"Okay," Alyvia started excitedly and the people at the large table quieted down, "Tomorrow morning is the first day that we are allowed to go out. I got Karrie to approve the training outside the colony as long as we showed her we were making progress. Not exactly sure how we're supposed to do that.." She trailed off with a grin.

"Anyways, lets meet here tomorrow morning at 5 o'clock to prepare and go over the basic rules of going outside the premises, Karrie wanted to make sure that everyone understood what is allowed, and what isn't allowed to happen when we are outside.

I don't know about you guys but I'm really excited to.. I guess. Start this group, and it's really great to be able to help you guys..I guess"

Alyvia was an open book. A very meek, but strong book.

I could tell that she was excited, but also nervous.

I was excited but tried not to show it. This was for training, not to bask myself in the sunlight that I have missed so long.

Despite the amount of physical labor I had to perform in my home colony, it was outside in the sun, while the physical labor I had to undergo here, was in a room full of other sweaty people with un-natural light and no fresh air.

I had gotten claustrophobic being stuck inside and it killed me to not be able to see the sun, breathe fresh air that no one had yet to breathe. Tomorrow morning was sure to be true bliss.

Alyvia dismissed us, and as people finished their meals they would get up to leave the cafeteria. It had seemed that I was one of the few who had showered before the lunch meeting, which could help explain why there was no one else in the shower rooms.

"Well," Alyvia raised from her seat beside me, dishes in hand, "I need to hit the showers, I'll see you guys later". She dismissed herself from the table with a smile.
I stood up too, planning to head back to my room. As early as it is, I'm exhausted, and could definitely catch up on sleep.
Not to mention that I have a big day tomorrow.

As I begin to walk towards the door I hear a chair scrape the concrete floor and Cade stands to the left of me.
"I heard you were joining the perimeter group?"
He asked it like a question. As if his hearing was a rumor.

"Yes," I answered shallowly, but honestly.

"I don't think your ready to go out yet. You've been here for what- less than a few weeks and they're already letting you go outside? Alyvia has been here for over two years and they've just begun to let her to go outside," He clearly has a strong opinion about me. Especially for someone who saved his leg from getting infected.

"Thanks," is all I say, though I really want to tell him how much I appreciate his lack of confidence in me.

"Karrie is loosing her mind sending you out," I heard him mutter. Most likely trying to be inaudible.

"Why don't you go if you think you're so good?" I question him annoyed. If he thinks he's so much better than why isn't he going out. I'm sure he's allowed.
I looked to Cade, expecting an answer but when I turned my head I saw him sending me his usual glare and he walked away muttering something that was this time, inaudible for me to hear.

Okay..
That was strange. I only asked a question. Maybe he wasn't allowed outside?

I began the short trek back to my room. Cade on my mind of what he had said. Why did it take so long for Alyvia to be allowed outside?
Maybe it was just because there was no group like this one? That could be a reason that this group of 'outsiders' was created. To get more people outside? To patrol the grounds?

I turned the knob to my room and creaked open the heavy door.
A double live as we called it back at home. When it feels like we've been here before.
My room was nostalgic, and I had a flash of the rooms in my house in the Garden colony.
So similar to the dull, small rooms here.
Everything here was so similar. But everything here was also quite different
