Ahsoka Tano
13 ABY
Bonteri-Tano Hideout
Tatooine

It had been a full year since Ahsoka had escaped the lab. Her quality of life had skyrocketed, and she had been able to spend time with the people she loved. With her husband and little daughter by her side, there was nothing that could've made Ahsoka happier.

This particular morning, she had woken up early. It was still dark outside, and Lux was out like a light beside her. He'd been having trouble sleeping the past few months. It wasn't uncommon for him to wake up in the middle of the night with sweat dripping down his face having had another nightmare about the horrors from the Imperial Medical Research Lab. She'd done his best to comfort him, but it would take time for him to recover.

This time, it was her turn to wake up in the middle of the night. She had a splitting headache, and her whole body ached. Spells like this had been happening often now that her body was free of the chemical supplements poisoning her from the lab. It happened much less now than when they originally escaped.

Careful not to wake Lux, Ahsoka rolled out of bed and staggered towards the bathroom. Acid was churning in her stomach, and she wasn't sure it was going to stay in her stomach for much longer.

After turning on the light and closing the door, she promptly vomited in the toilet. She flushed it down, rinsed out her mouth, and brushed her teeth before turning the lights of and going back to bed.

Once she pulled the sheets back over her body, she felt a pair of arms slide around her waist. "You okay, love?" He whispered, still half asleep.

"Yes. I'm just sick again. I'll be fine in the morning."

But the morning came, and she wasn't fine. Something just wasn't right. When she woke up for the second time, she didn't bother trying to go back to sleep. Raiya would be awake soon, as the sun was rising.

She pulled off the covers and started walking towards Raiya's room, but a hand reached out and grabbed her wrist. "No, don't go. You're warm and I'm cold."

"It's morning now, Lux," she chuckled. "I have to start the day's routine."

"Yeah, but can't you stay another few minutes? Raiya's not even awake yet. Plus, you're still sick."

She shook her head. "I'm fine. It's just my body adjusting to the lack of chemicals in my system."

"You're sweating."

"I'm fine."

She looked at herself in the mirror, studying her features. Her face had gained a little bit of weight, and the markings on her face were not as pronounced as normal.

Lux shook his head and got out of bed. He walked straight towards her and placed his hands on her shoulders and kissed her softly. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Other than just... just..." All of a sudden, her vision was blurry, and she felt dizzy. She stumbled and fell, but Lux caught her before she reached the ground.

"Ahsoka, you aren't 'fine.' What's going on?"

Truthfully, Ahsoka didn't know. She reached out into the force and probed different parts of her body for something out of the ordinary.

She didn't have to look far. Her stomach gurgled, drawing her attention to it. She could feel something pulling her there, like a hand reaching out into an empty abyss.

But when she focused on it, she found that there really was something there that wasn't there before. Ahsoka closed her eyes and could almost hear the babies whispering to her. "Be strong, Mommy. We'll be there soon."

Even though she was as white as a ghost, her smile was warm and loving. Maybe she and Lux could live their dream and raise children together after all. They'd thought it was impossible for her to carry a child again, after all the physical trauma she'd faced, but the universe absolutely loved proving her wrong.

She took Lux's hand and kissed his palm before touching it to her stomach. "Lux, I'm pregnant."

A/N: That's all, folks! I can't believe this book is done already. It seems lime yesterday that I came up with the idea for this book. I didn't think for a minute that I'd have enough substance with the plot to carry it over an entire book, but I'm about to start writing a book 2.

Thanks for all your comments and votes. None of my books would be as fun to write or as good to read (at least I hope they are) without the support of readers XD

Book 2 will be called Annihilation. The prologue should be up soon!

Until next time,
