Ahsoka Tano
18 BBY
Bonteri Estate
Onderon

Ahsoka took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing mind. He was going to be just fine. She would find him, and they would escape together. Either that, or he'd already been killed. She wouldn't be able to live with herself if that were the case, especially since she had never told him how she felt about him.

There had to be a way to find him. She didn't have time to stop and think about it, so she slid into an old Jedi robe and ran outside to hop on a speeder. As much as she loathed cantinas, she would have to go to one if there was any hope of finding Lux. All sorts of sketchy people seemed to hide from the law there. With any luck, he'd still be somewhere on Onderon, though the chances of that were slim.

When Ahsoka first stepped foot in a local bar in Iziz, her thoughts were interrupted by the overwhelming smell of alcohol and the incredibly loud music. She scrunched her nose and removed herself from the entryway, not daring to remove her hood. She was still a wanted criminal, after all.

Okay, Ahsoka, think. If I were trying to kidnap a Senator, where would I start?

She slowly walked around the main bar area, using the force to probe for Lux's location. Much to her chagrin, he was not in the capital. There had to be something she was missing.

Leaning against a door frame with her back to the crowd, she listened to the conversations going on around her. Her mind's eye was immediately drawn to a table in the opposite corner. Two people in red stormtrooper uniforms were discussing something with a person in a black cloak.

"Thanks for the info. We got 'em all right. Now it's only a matter o' time before he be leadin' us to that Jedi," one of them said. The figure nodded. "You can visit us anytime you like, ya know. Just give Rider a call and he'll get ya a free ticket to Skirox to check up on 'em."

The figure stood up abruptly, motioning for silence. Ahsoka knew that whoever it was could sense her presence. It could only mean one thing: she had to leave now.

Ahsoka walked swiftly towards the door, trying to keep as low a profile as possible. Subtlety had never been one of her strong points. Master Plo had tried to teach her to be more discrete, but Anakin was a horrible example to follow. He turned out alright, so she supposed she would too. She could've really used his guidance in the moment. It was best not to think about that now.

Just as she was about to reach the door, she tripped over a couple stairs her brain had failed to register. She fell forward, landing on her forearms.

"Ouch..." she mumbled, brushing herself off. Her cloak was beginning to slide off her head, revealing the tips of her montrals.

Silence fell upon the cantina, and Ahsoka knew she had been recognized.

The figure in black stopped in front of her and chuckled. Two red stormtroopers stood by her side. Without warning, one of them pulled out a blaster and shot her with a stun blast.

The last thing she remembered was the figure in black removing his helmet. She caught a glimpse of hazel brown hair before her eyesight faded into nothingness.

Lux Bonteri
12 ABY
Imperial Medical Reseach Laboratory
Wobani

Lux paced back and forth in his room, lost in thought. Yersinia had felt sorry for him, he guessed, so she had allowed him to walk around the room instead of chaining him to the wall like usual. It felt freeing to be able to move, but he was still imprisoned here. Hopefully, he'd be able to change that sooner rather than later.

He was going to see Ahsoka again. Looking back on it, he'd passed by every opportunity to take their relationship one step further. Sure, he'd been the one to propose, but Ahsoka had initiated everything else. Lux had made up his mind; now was the time for him to make things right.

Kal had been able to fit through the ventilation shaft without too many problems, though he was a lot smaller than Lux. He hadn't been able to fit in the vents for a long time, so he didn't expect to be able to now. There had to be a simpler solution. What hadn't he tried?

The door, he thought sarcastically. Who in their right mind would leave the door to a prison cell open?

He walked over to the control pad and pressed the button to open the door, and it slid open without a problem. Okay, somebody definitely wants me out of here for some reason...

As skeptical as he was, Lux wasn't going to just sit around when he could practically taste his freedom. He would find Ahsoka, free her, and figure out a way to get out without getting caught. With any luck, he'd be able to find Raiya. He hadn't forgotten about her. Once they escaped, he would make sure she didn't have to grow up the way he did—with absent parents.

Lux peeked out into the hallway. There wasn't a soul to be seen—not even his normal guards. Something was definitely up. He crept down the hall, picking up his pace as he got further from his room.

Ahsoka's wing wasn't too far away. Once he reached the vault doors, he guessed a couple times at the password, but was granted access without too much trouble.

It was silent. Not a single guard could be seen anywhere, and the usual ambient noise from nurses running about doing whatever they were doing was simply gone. Where had everyone gone?

Darth Fils must already be leaving with Raiya. What else could be happening that required the presence of every single stormtrooper in this facility?

Lux opened the door to Ahsoka's room. She was suspended in the bacta tank, her eyes closed. There didn't seem to be any chemicals mixed in with the water. That was a good sign. He started pressing buttons, hoping that something would get her out. Time was of the essence. Lux had to free her before his little mission was discovered by someone. In his past experience, he almost always got caught in he act.

As soon as Ahsoka was free of the tank, Lux helped her stand up and dry off. She was weak. Her knees kept giving out beneath her, and her breathing was shallow.

"Who... who are you?" She asked.

Lux sighed. They were back to square one. "I'm someone you used to know."

"I'm terribly sorry, but I don't remember you." She shifted in his arms, trying to stand on her own. Once she realized that it wasn't going to do her much good, she relaxed and let him hold her. "Who are you? There's this sensation inside me I can't quite explain. I..." she shook her head.

"Maybe I can help you."

Lux looked into her eyes, overjoyed with the fact that he could get lost in their sapphire blue ocean just as he had before she was killed. He had missed her, and it was time to bring her back home.

His face bent down into hers in slow motion, like one of his dreams, as his hands slipped down the smooth curve of her sides to rest on her hips. He let his lips linger a moment, his heart beating widly, before closing the distance between them. Lux leaned into into it, forgetting everything but the moment.

Ahsoka was kissing him back, but not with as much passion as Lux. He was just another pretty face to her since she couldn't remember him. It was a shame that it had to end like that, but there was nothing he could do about it.

All of a sudden, images of him and Ahsoka came flooding through his mind. The first time they met, the night of Order 66, their first kiss, the sunset after he proposed, the beautiful white dress Ahsoka wore when she became his partner for life...

The sound of their heartbeats echoed through his ears as Ahsoka tackled him to the ground and kissed him back with even more fervor than Lux had managed. He could feel the energy radiating off of her like waves crashing down upon him.

When they finally parted, Ahsoka smiled, her eyes brimming with tears. She reached her hand up and brushed the hair out of his face. "I remember everything."

A/N: FLUFF HERE, FLUFF THERE, FLUFF EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

This chapter was fun to write a) because this was one of the original scenes I had in mind for this novel b) because there were some important hints dropped that pretty much give away the way the ending is going to turn out and c) because who doesn't love writing fluff?

I feel like I spend a lot of time developing Ahsoka's character in a lot of my other books simply because I narrate from her perspective a lot. One of my goals for this book was to go into more depth about Lux's character because, when compared with the number of fanfics narrated by Ahsoka, there aren't that many. Hopefully I pulled it off so that it was enjoyable to read :)

School is back in full swing, which makes me want to cry every day at approximately 3:00 pm when I get in my car and think about how much homework I have to do. I haven't died yet in all my years of public school, so I think I can hang on for just a couple more years.

I'm going to try and get at one chapter posted weekly. Maybe more, depending on how much free time I have, but at least one. I want to be finished with the entire trilogy by the end of the school year (which is in May for me) so I can work on other projects.

Until the next update, may the force be with you!
