Dr. Onsourl Pestis
12 ABY
Imperial Medical Research Facility
Wobani

Dr. Pestis had barely stepped into Ahsoka and Kal's shared prison cell before he was met with screams of protest from both of them.

He held up a hand for silence. "Your pleas for mercy won't save either of you this time. I've already decided what I'm going to do with you."

Ahsoka struggled against her chains. "You took everything from me, and you expect me to be quiet about it? I don't think so!"

Kal sighed. "He's right, Mom. There's no point in fighting; it'll end up worse."

The doctor chuckled to himself. The kid was smarter than he'd given him credit for. "Unfortunately, I am no longer in need of either of you."

Kal made a face. "But the army!"

The doctor could tell that he was expecting to live, especially since his body was needed to create an army. Yersinia had warned the doctor of Kal's adventurous tendencies, so he had taken precautions that would allow him to sacrifice the boy if necessary. "The DNA samples I've taken from you are more than enough to create an entirely new life form. Yersinia will have two genetically-modified Bonteri-Tano infants ready to deliver to the cloning facilities on Kamino within the hour for Darth Fils to pick up."

"Why do you do this?" Ahsoka cried. "What do you hope to gain from destroying us?"

"The Jedi took away my family and my community. Everyone in my village was killed because of your precious Order. We were accused of kidnapping some important Senator, but they were wrong. The Jedi destroyed my life, and I'm prepared to return the favor." Maybe there was another way to get his revenge, but Dr. Pestis didn't care. He was going to kill Ahsoka Tano, even if it was the last thing he did.

"Who?" Ahsoka whispered. "Which Jedi would've done that?"

He turned around, his back facing them. "The Hero with No Fear himself: Anakin Skywalker. You share his name, Kalex Anakin Bonteri, so you will be put to death first for crimes against the Emperor. Ahsoka Tano, I will deal with you later."

Ahsoka Tano
18 BBY
Bonteri Estate
Onderon

It had been a full year since Order 66 and Ahsoka's arrival on Onderon, and she'd never been happier. Her responsibility was to guard Lux, which meant that she'd fortunately spent a lot of time with him. He'd insisted that she accompany him everywhere "just in case", but she had a feeling that he only wanted to be around her, even if he himself wasn't consciously aware of it.

When she really stopped to think about it, some of his actions didn't necessarily add up. For example, whenever he went to Coruscant for Senate sessions, he refused to dine with anyone except Ahsoka. He always turned down invitations, saying that he already had plans with someone. Nobody expected it to be his faithful bodyguard.

Ahsoka wasn't surprised when Lux asked her to the ball. He had been dropping small hints that he had feelings for her since the first day they met on Raxus. First, it had probably just been physical attraction, but now that they had gotten to know each other more, she realized how much she really enjoyed being with him.

She had always denied harboring any feelings for him when asked by her master, but maybe that wasn't the case anymore.

Not a day went by when she didn't think about Anakin. Ahsoka missed him terribly, but he was dead now. She wanted to hear him rant about something or someone or accidentally give her a life lesson. They spent lot of time bonding over the short years they had together, and she would've given just about anything to go back to the way it was. However her life had changed drastically, and there was nothing she could do about it. She had Lux to keep her company now.

Tessilya was attempting to give her dancing lessons in preparation for the event. Ahsoka knew her talents, and dancing was certainly not one of them.

"Right foot, left foot, right foot, okay?" Ahsoka could tell Tessilya was getting frustrated. "This isn't that hard."

She stepped with her right foot, then brought her left in to meet it, and stepped forward with the left foot. "Like that?"

Tessilya shook her head. "Right, left, right! Not right, left, left! It's just fancy walking. Do you walk with the same foot twice in a row?"

"Well, no."

"Then don't dance that way either. Let's try it again, and please at least try to stay on the beat this time." Tessilya hit play, and the waltz track started back up.

Ahsoka tried her best, but moving to any rhythm but her own was difficult. Training sequences were easy since she could set her own pace and move through positions as she pleased. Having music to tell you what to do was much more complicated. "Ugh, I can't do this!" Her hands formed fists at her sides. "This is a ridiculous waste of everyone's time. I'm going to have a conversation with Lux. Thanks for trying, Tessilya."

She stormed out of the ballroom and towards Lux's office. Dancing was such a simple task. Why couldn't she do it? If she could manage to lead an entire battalion of troops into battle, then how was it that she couldn't move her feet in a particular pattern?

Ahsoka spotted Lux walking towards the kitchen. "Lux!" she called out. He stopped and turned around, walking towards her. "We need to talk."

A/N: Things aren't looking too great for uour heroes right now. Ahsoka remembers everything, but there isn't anything she can do to get to Lux. Kal tried to help out, but he's been condemned to death by the evil Dr. Pestis himself. Just wait until I getLux involved. Then it's really going to be interesting.

After lots of thought, I think I've decided to do a sequel to this book purely for the fun of it. It's a decent AU that's entertaining to explore, and I really like my OC characters. This won't be the last you see of most them, I can assure you of that. Even after I wrap this book up, there's still so much to tell. I have events on a timeline for this AU going until after the destruction of Hosnian Prime in the canon timeline, so I'll delve into that in the next book. This book still hasn't quite come full circle yet, so there's still plenty more left until book 2.

Also, just so you know, multiple characters are going to die before this book is over. They may not be who you expect, either.

Seeing as it's almost one in the morning, I should probably go to sleep. I have the next chapter almost done, so it should be up soon. Until then, may the force be with you!
