Ahsoka Tano
19 BBY
Senate Chambers
Coruscant

The more time Ahsoka spent listening to the Senate in session, the more she disliked politics. Yes, they were essential to running a bunch of systems with different values and cultures, but nothing was ever actually accomplished. There was a whole lot of talking and barely any action.

Lux, however, was a different story altogether. He actually understood what was going on, and he was able to create comprehensive arguments on the spot based on the evidence immediately presented to the floor. Ahsoka knew that public speaking was certainly not a talent of hers. Even though she wasn't good at it, she recognized that it was considered an art form to others.

She sat on the floor of Lux's pod, tinkering with spare parts to try and fashion herself  lightsaber or two. They had gone to Jehda before the vote because Lux thought it was more important for her to have the kind of weapon she had mastered during her time with the Jedi. He had argued that since Onderon was a brand new system to the Republic and he hadn't completed the paperwork in its entirety, it wouldn't have a vote until the next session of Congress, and it was therefore not the end of the world if he missed it.

So, after a very successful trip, Ahsoka had acquired two lightsaber crystals and a bunch of junk parts that she'd collected since leaving the Order. She sat with her legs crossed, facing the array of parts she could use. It took her almost the entire session to figure out exactly what she wanted to do, but the final result was worth it.

She stepped outside to the hall to test them out so she didn't disturb the proceedings. Taking a deep breath, Ahsoka pushed the buttons on the sides of the lightsaber hilts. White twin blades shot out, lighting up her face. White? She had never seen another Jedi with a white lightsaber except for Master Sinube, and he had been quite the character. She supposed it made sense; they were both unique in their expressions of Jedi values, and their lightsabers showed it. They were absolutely perfect.

Lux came up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "They're wonderful, Ahsoka."

"Thanks." She deactivated them and clipped them to the appropriate spots on her belt. "Shouldn't you be in there paying attention?"

"Technically yes, but I got bored."

She knew him well enough to know that it was a lie. When he put some effort into it, he was a great actor. He could make the most absurd statement seem true if he wanted, but when he tried to lie to her, she saw right through it. "You got bored, huh?

"Okay, you win. I wanted to see how you were doing. I turned around to check on you, but you were gone. I have paperwork to do anyway, so I'm going to go back to my office and at least try to get something done."

"Then I''ll go with you."

As they walked down the halls, Ahsoka couldn't help but feel like something catastrophic was going to happen. They passed a pair of clone troopers, and instead of sensing their usual playfulness, she sensed nothing at all. Something was definitely off.

She didn't realize how deep in thought she was until she walked into Lux, who had stopped to unlock the door. "Oh, sorry. My bad."

He turned around and looked at her for a moment. "Are you alright? You seem like something's bothering you."

She looked over her shoulder at the clones. "It's nothing. I'm fine."

Ahsoka Tano

Imperial Medical Research Laboratory
Wobani

Ahsoka had lost count of the times she'd been confused that day. There was something about that man that had called himself Lux Bonteri; he seemed too familiar. Obviously, they had known each other in her past life, but how? There were things that he said that she had heard him say before. She had even felt a strong emotional connection to him though they had just met.

"Yersinia, who was that man?" Yersinia was performing an ultrasound on her baby again to check on it's development. So far, everything was normal. She was scheduled to give birth soon, though Ahsoka wasn't sure exactly when.

"Oh, just another one of our patients. He is of little importance now that we have what we need from him."

"What's going to happen to him?" From what the doctor had said back in his room, it didn't seem like the man was going to have a pleasant future. She had tried to warn him, but he didn't listen.

"It's none of your concern, dear," she replied, much too quickly. She was hiding something. For a second she wondered if they were going to kill him. She wouldn't be surprised, given Dr. Pestis's normal activities.

"Are you sure about that? I've seen him before. There's just something about him that makes me feel... well, I don't know exactly." She knew him. There was no other explanation for it.

The nurse stopped what she was doing and looked at Ahsoka. "Elaborate, please."

"When I look at him, I get this feeling I can't describe. I feel like I should know him, but seeing as you've taken my memory away, it's difficult to pinpoint where exactly I know him from. I know I've heard his voice before."

Her face paled. "Is that so?" She wrote a few things down on a notepad beside the machine before making a call.

"Dr. Pestis, we've got a problem."

A/N: *sighs* That turned out interesting. It was much shorter than I wanted, but quality over quantity, right? This chapter was hopefully pretty self-explanatory. The title was giving me issues, so I'll go back and change it when I come up with something better.

I'm going to continue both of these story lines in the next chapter, which I shall start after I eat lunch. You can probably guess what's coming next in the flashback, but prepare to be amazed by what happens regarding Ahsoka's recognition of Lux. I have a completely free day today, so I'll try to have it up before I go to bed.

Until then, may the force be with you!
