One year later

Jungkook sighed, looking at the flowers he had in his hand and opening the car door.

He slid out of the car, looking at his surroundings, sighing again and slamming the door shut, giving the driver a sign to wait for him.

He started walking as he fiddled with the bow that held the carnations and rose together.

The flowers were a bright red, with a single white rose in the middle.

Taehyung would love these.

Taehyung loved flowers. Every kind of flower.

Jungkook smiled down at the bouquet.

The area was quiet, only a few rustling of the trees and a few birds chirping.

Leaves crunched underneath his feet as he kept walking.

His eyes caught sight of the familiar figure and a small smile spread out on his face.

"Hi." he said as he finally approached the figure.

"Hey." a brief reply came.

Jungkook looked down again, a sad smile appearing on his face this time.

He stared at the grave of his lover, who still had his heart. Even though Taehyung told him to move on, he couldn't. Not yet.

He wanted to cherish every single moment and memory he had with Taehyung before he stored them and opened his heart for another person.

The tombstone stared back at him and he placed the flowers next to them. It read:

In loving memory of
Kim Taehyung
30.12.2003-21.06.2020

He was an angel that walked amongst humans.
He finally returned home.

And it was true. Taehyung maybe didn't belong here on Earth because he was angelic.

He was kind and loving, friendly.

He was what everyone needed.

Beside Taehyung's grave was his mother's.

"So he wouldn't be alone and scared." Mr Kim had said when Taehyung was buried.

He still worried for his son, but seeing him next to his wife gave him comfort.

"How are you kid?" Mr Kim finally asked, breaking the comfortable silence

"I'm fine Mr Kim."

The silence returned as they basked in the presence of the dead.

"I miss him so much." Jungkook whispered.

"I miss him too. He was the most important thing in my life. I might not have shown it so much, but that he was. The only thing that mattered."

"Taehyung loved you very much sir."

"I know..." The older man trailed, sighing, "he wants you to move on you know?" He said as he placed a hand on Jungkook's shoulder.

Jungkook remembered the letter Taehyung had written him and squeezed his eyes shut.

It still hurts. He read the letter everyday.

To see Taehyung's handwriting gave him a sense of satisfaction.

"I'm trying... It- it's just hard to forget someone like him you know."

Mr Kim nodded, a small smile on his face.

"Take all the time you need, but don't be like this forever. Taehyung wouldn't be happy." he said as he walked away, leaving Jungkook alone.

Jungkook sighed as he sat next to the grave.

"Would you be upset with me Tae? You'd surely understand right?" Jungkook said as he caressed the tombstone.

"I love you. I've always loved you. I'll still love you. I'll never stop loving you." Jungkook choked out a sob, wiping his eyes.

"I'll move on. For you."

~*~

A huge gasp, left Taehyung's mouth as he coughed, sitting up on the bed.

He took a huge gulp from the glass of water that he picked up from the bedside table.

"What the fuck was that?" he asked himself as he stared around the room in horror.

"I... Died?" he whispered to himself, questions running through his head a thousand miles per hour.

He pinched himself hard, hissing at the sting and rubbing the sore spot.

It... It was all a dream.

It was a fucking dream.

It had felt so real.

Taehyung laughed to himself like a madman, a happy smile on his face.

He picked up his phone which was in the charger, wanting to press the call button but deciding against it.

He wanted to be sure.

So he'll go back to sleep.

The next day

"I'm telling you Jiminie. It was the craziest dream I've ever had."

"So you're telling me... That you had a dream that you were sick?" Jimin asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah."

"You should probably stop taking all that pain medicines."

"What do I do when I have these stupid dumb headaches then?"

"Go get yourself checked at the hospital Tae. What if this is a sign that you're going to be sick?"

"You're right. I should. What if I'm actually sick?"

"Hey babe." a voice calls out, making the two boys turn around.

"Hey." Taehyung said, leaning into Jungkook and kissing his lips.

"Your lips are so soft." Jungkook whispered, smiling.

"I know. Lip balm." Taehyung said, licking his lip.

"I'm still here." Jimin said, pinching Taehyung's bum.

"Right. I'll see you." Jungkook said as he walked towards the classroom not before placing a kiss on Taehyung's cheek.

"I'll also see you Tae." Jimin said, walking towards class. Taehyung was left alone at his locker.

It really was a dream.

He was still alive, in his body, feeling everything.

It was one crazy dream, but it was fun and scary.

He hoped no one ever had to suffer what the him in his dream suffered.

He was fine.

He was here.

That was all that mattered and he was going to make sure everyone here knew how much he loves them and cared for them.

How much he loves them and how important they were to him.

That was all that mattered.

With a small smile, Taehyung walked to his classroom, a skip in his step.

It was all a dream.

Or was it?
