"It's been one week,and she hasn't even returned any of my calls."I complain to Jax as we get our food at this Jamaican joint. "Has she talked to you any?"

"Well...."He trailed off as we sat our food down on the table, "She did call me yesterday,but we didn't talk long though."He shrugged.

"Well I don't even know what the hell I did."I say running my hands through my freshly pressed hair.

"Girl don't even worry about that right now."Jax waved me off. "This is typical Havana she will come around soon,and you know that."He say and I nodded because it's the truth.

"Anyway... My life took a turn as well."I say looking at my nails that needed to be done badly.

"Oh yeaa.."He say eating some of his food "How is it going between you and your real parents?"

"Well I haven't even reached out to them, Me or Cam aren't ready to actually talk to them."I shrugged.

"Why not?"

"Because Jax we're just not ready to catch up with them just yet."I say sipping on some of my sprite.

"Well I say give it a try,if Cj can forgive his dad then you and Cam can talk to your parents. Plus the way you described them they seem like some really good people."He say making a good point.

"I don't know, I'll talk to Cam later on and see what he wants to do."

After talking with Jax some more, we decided to go to a little Ice Cream shop.

"Jasmine must still be blowing your phone up."I say as we walk into the little shop.

"Nah, I haven't heard from her in a month. Last time I talked to her she was talking about moving to Virginia with her so called husband."He say and I looked at him weirdly.

"Husband?"

"Yes husband, apparently her family hooked her up with this rich doctor so now their engaged. I don't care though because he can raise that damn baby right with her."He said nonchalantly.

"Wow I never seen your heartless side."I teased and he rolled his eyes.

"It ain't being heartless, would you want to raise a incest baby?Everyday you look at the child you get reminded that you slept with one of your family members."He ranted on and a couple people start looking at him weirdly.

"Okay, let's change the subject, don't want these people thinking we from Alabama or somethin'."I say as we walk up in the line to order our ice cream.

"Anyway why you ask that?"He ask as I tell the girl what type of ice cream I wanted.

"Because..."I say grabbing my ice cream from the girl. "You've been texting nonstop today, and it was just the first thing to pop up in my mind."I shrugged.

"Oh, it was just business stuff that's all."He said as he grabbed his ice cream and paid.

I nodded and we both walked outside to go sit down at one of the little tables.

"So you know Jahlan's birthday is coming up in a couple of days..."I trail off.

"Yea go on.."He say signaling his hand for me to finish what I was saying.

"And I was thinking that I should invite Pierce and his family to the party.."I say fidgeting with my fingers.

"Have you run this by Cj?"He asks and I shake my head "Well I think it's a terrible idea,because for one Cj hates Pierce and for two Pierce psychotic ass wife hates you and Jahlan."

"I just wanted Jahlan to have his father there for his first birthday party that's all."I shrug and Jax looks at me.

"Look it ain't my kid, so do whatever feels right to you..but I would tell Cj"

"Tell Cj what?"Havana asks popping up outta nowhere.

"Hey Havana."I smiled up at her.

"Hi."She mumbled walking over to sit next to Jax. "What was y'all talking about?"

"We were talking about Jahlan's first birthday party coming up in a couple of days."Jax answered her.

"Oh."She said dryly.

"Your coming right? To support Jayda."Jax say trying to make light of her mood,but she just sat there with 'attitude' written all across her face.

"I'll see.."She shrugged sitting back in her chair.

"I'm sorry is that a problem for you Havana?"I asked sitting up and looking right in her eyes.

"Did I say it was?"She rolled her eyes at me.

"It seems like you have a problem with this. If you do please say so."I snapped back.

"Why the fuck your son get to have a first birthday party? Why couldn't it be my daughter? Why the fuck does the world revolve around you and Jahlan? Tell me that Jayda."She snapped back getting up outta her seat.

"The world doesn't revolve around us."I say getting up outta my seat "It seems like you got more to say, so you feeling froggy so jump then."I say signaling for her to keep talking.

"You prance around here like you some kind of princess when you not Jayda just because you out here going with Cj...You will forever be that sad pathetic ass little girl from high school. You ain't nothing but Cj's little tool,and when he gets tired of you and your son he gone throw y'all right back on the curb where you belong. I feel bad for Cam because his sister is a punk,and I feel bad for Jahlan because he gone be a lil pussy just like his mama and daddy."She snapped.

I wrapped my hair up in a bun and snatched my hoops out of my ear. "I gotcho punk bitch; hoe."I say about to jump across the table but Jax caught me in time.

"Nah let her go since she all big and bad now."She say wrapping her hair up. "I've been waiting a week to deliver this ass whoopin'."

"Girl fuck you.. You ain't whooping shit, I'll drag yo ass left and right don't do it Havana."I snap trying to get out of Jax's tight grip.

"Shut the fuck up."She snap back throwing Jax's ice cream at me but she missed and ended up hitting Jax.

"I know you lying."He say letting me go and I reached for my ice cream and threw it at her which hit her dead in the face.

"See I don't miss,and I sholl ain't gonna miss these hits."I say trying to run over to her but Jax grabbed me again.

As Jax was struggling to get me tamed Havana ended up coming behind him and grabbing some of my hair.

"Jax let me go! She has my fucking hair!"I yelled swinging my legs trying to kick her off of me.

"Okay ladies that's enough."A worker said separating the both of us from each other. "You two need to leave the premises."

"Fuck you Jayda, find yourself a new bestfriend."She yelled grabbing her keys.

"Fuck you too, you wouldn't even be in this mess if you just would've kept your damn legs closed."I yell back out of anger. She gave me one last look before storming off towards her car.

"You good?"Jax asked passing me my purse and keys.

"How did she know we were here?"

"I convinced her to come, I just wanted y'all to be back cool."He shrugged and I sighed.

"That'll never happen, as far as I'm concerned we were never friends if it's ending over something like this."I say fixing my hair and walking off towards my car.

"Jayda don't say that! You two will become best friends again!"Jax yelled out.

I stopped in my tracks and looked over at him "Fuck Havana."I say throwing up my middle finger and then turning around to continue walking to my car.

"Cj! I'm back!"I yelled out walking into Cj's house and putting my stuff down on the counter.

"Hey baby."He say walking into the kitchen where I was. "How was your day?"He asks kissing my forehead.

"Woah.. yo' head bleeding?"He asks looking down at his bloody hand and then back at me.

"I know this bitch didn't pull my hair out."I mumble rushing to the bathroom.

"Me and Havana got into it today."I say parting my hair to see where the blood was coming from.

"Jayda please tell me you ain't go back over that girl house today."He say getting the first aid kit.

"No I didn't go over there, Jax had text her and told her where we was."

"Why he do that?"He asks getting everything ready.

"He wanted us to talk it out and be bestfriend's agaim,but Havana just start doing the most and we almost fought."

"She snuck you?"He asks putting the alcohol thing on my cut.

"Yes,and I want my one."I say feeling myself getting mad all over again.

I swear if I see Havana again I'm going to beat her ass on sight. No talking no staring. Just plain on sight.

"What y'all even get into it for?"

"She mad because of Jahlan's first birthday.."I say putting my hair up in a ponytail.

"That's petty. He just a baby he can't help it."He chuckled shaking his head. "Well I never really liked Havana,she was sketchy to me just like Austyn."

"Anyways..."I say changing the subject "I have to ask you something."I say walking out of the bathroom

"Wassup? Better not be something stupid Jayda."

"Shut up."I say rolling my eyes. "But sit down first."

He looked at me weirdly before going over to the sofa and sitting down. I walked over to him and straddled his lap.

"Sooo..."I say rubbing his big chest "You know Jahlan's birthday is coming up and he's about to be one."

"Yeaa..."He trailed off gripping on my ass. "Whatchu trynna do for his cake day?"

"Just a party in the backyard..but I have to ask you something.."I say biting my bottom lip.

"I was thinking about inviting Pierce..You cool with that?"I ask cuffing his cheeks.

"So that means no..I just want Jahlan to have his dad there for at least his first birthday."I frowned up.

"Man fix yo face. I said I'll see."He say kissing my neck "Now give me some love."I leaned down and kissed him and of course he deepened it.

"I got to go in a little bit."I say against his lips and he groaned out.

"Why? You been gone all day!"He whined throwing his head back.

"Quit being dramatic. On the way here I talked to Cam,and well we agreed to meet with our real parents."I answered him.

"Want me to come with y'all?"He asked rubbing on my thigh.

"Yea you can."I said getting off of him. "But I'm leaving soon so hurry up and get ready."

"Yes ma'am"He playfully said getting up off of the couch and started walking upstairs.

I sat down on the couch and start scrolling on my phone.

I bit my lip looking at his message,Now that me and Cj have something going on again I don't know how to tell Lance this.

We both walked out of the house and outside to his car.

"Cam is already had my nana's with Jahlan"I say as we pull out of the driveway.

The car ride we sat in a comfortable silence with his music playing in the background.

"Here goes nothing."I sighed getting out of the car.

We walked up to the door and rung the doorbell and my papa answered it.

"Hey Jay bug"My papa smiled hugging me. "And Hey Cj."He say shaking Cj's hand.

"Wassup."Cj say giving him a head nod.

"Where is Cam?"

"He been locked up in that room all day; the only time he came out was when it was time to eat, and Jahlan is in the living room with your nana."He tells us as we walk into their house.

I walked to the back where Cam's room was. I gently knocked on the door before walking in.

"Hey Cam."I say walking over to the bed to sit next to him.

"Hey."He replies looking down at the ground.

"What's wrong? Why the sad look?"I ask rubbing his back.

"A lot have been happening lately."He sighed "And now we find out that we haven't even been raised up by our biological parents. It's all coming way to fast for me."

"I get what your saying."I say looking at him "But at least we have each other,and we gone get through all of this together. I promise."I say laying my head on his shoulder.

"I love you Jayda,and I don't care if that lady out there is my real mom your basically the one that's raised me. So your my mom in my eyes."He say and I felt myself getting emotional.

"Shut up."I chuckled playfully punching him in the arm. "Let's go meet our parents."I smile at him.

When we walked back into the living room,Cj and my papa were outside and Jahlan was on the floor playing with his toys while my nana was watching him.

"We're ready nana."I say and she looked up at us with teary eyes.

"Let get them."She say getting up and wiping her eyes.

We both walked into the dining room and sat at the table. After a few minutes my nana came out with my parents.

They both looked young,and looked way better than Tyrone and Malinda.

My mom was a mocha short thick woman. She had no type of hips,and her skin looked smooth. Her hair was long as the way to her waist,and she still had a baby looking face.

My dad on the other hand,he looked like he could be somebody fine ass sugar daddy. He was very tall and built up with a crisp cut and waves,and he had mocha skin just like my mom;with straight pearly white teeth. He was dressed down in designer clothes with expensive bling to match.

They both looked like that had nothing but money.

"Hi, Jayda and Cameron."My mom says as they sit infront of us.

"It's Cam."Cam say to her and I nudge him.

"I'm sorry."She smiles. Wow this lady is pretty.

"So why were y'all not in our life?"I ask and her smiled dropped and her eyes began to start gettin glossy.

Me and Cam was just sitting there waiting for them to talk.

"When you both were very little,We was a very happy family."He say cuffing his hands together. "And I was in the game I was in it really deep,but it kept us fed."He continued.

"But then we got into it bad with these people."My mom intervened.

"Let me guess...Those people are Malinda and Tyrone."I say and they both nodded.

"Those people are very powerful,and we underestimated them."My mom said "And one night me and your dad was on a date night when this big truck rammed right into us."She said getting teary eyed again.

"At the time your mom was pregnant....The baby didn't make it."He say takin a deep breathe. "At the hospital they came to our room,and told us to fake our death and leave you two with them."He says and my mom gaped open.

"Why would y'all agree to that?"I ask looking at them with teary eyes.

"Because if we didn't say yes,they had already had snipers pointing at your nana's house. They were going to kill you if we didn't do as they said."My mom answered me with tears rolling down her face.

It all was making sense now,Malinda and Tyrone always acted like they never really cared for me and Cam. Now I know why.

"I need some air."I say getting up and storming out of the room.

Lots of things were going through my mind,my whole life was a lie to me. I wasn't mad at my parents; but I was pissed at Malinda and Tyrone. That's why they were so quick to kick me out of the house,it all makes sense.

"You good baby?"Cj asked coming up from behind me.

"I can't believe them...They basically stole us from our parents."I say as I find myself getting even more angry.

"Look Jayda you needa calm down."He say turning me around and making me look him right in the eye. "You cannot go act out in anger at them. I know it's a lot,but you brush that shit off and do what you been doing."He preached to me.

"But like that shit is crazy. That's some sick shit."I say and he shook his head.

"I know it is,but you a grown ass woman.Boss up on they ass with yo' real parents."He say and I chuckled a little.

"Your petty but I get what you saying."I say reaching up and pecking his lips.

"I love you girl."He say in my ear while smacking me on my ass.

"I love you too."I say giggling at him.

We both walked back into the house and everybody was in the living room talking.

"I just wanted to say...I'm glad you guys are back,and I hope we get a good relationship in."I smile at them and they smiled back.

They both got up and came and hugged me,and Cam came and joined us.

"Let me get a picture."My nana says going in the other room to get her phone.

"Uh uh Nana,use my phone. You camera is trash on that andriod."Cam said and she playfully hit him.

"Shut up boy. I don't want no damn It Phone or whatever you call this thing."She say looking at Cam's Iphone 8+ in disgust.

"Mama just take the pic."My mom say laughing at her.

"Hush Marie Ann."My nana say. "Cj c'mon you be in the picture too. You apart of this family."She winked at him and he came over to get in the picture with us.

I just looked at her weirdly. She doing all of that fake ass smiling,but if it was my black ass she wouldn't be smiling this hard. Fake ass.

"They are here, but Cj please be on your best behavior. I know how your mouth can get."She said to me in a serious tone.
