The idea that it is impossible to truly comprehend anything.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Their laughter had died down after sometime. They rubbed some lost tears that had managed to escape from their eyes.

The kids, so young yet, they had seen so much of this world and its intentions.

It is such a pity how some of the most purest souls created by this world become tainted; All because of this world.

"Thank you." Y/N murmured, not loud enough for Jisung to hear her.

Jisung barely saw her lips move.

"Thank you." She said it a bit louder for him to hear.

"For what?" A genuinely confused Jisung wondered out aloud.

"For bringing me here."

His mouth formed into an "o" as he recalled himself rushing to get immediate medical attention for you.

A light pink tinted his cheeks and mouth curved into a Cheshire grin. His eyes sparkling with embarrassment. They grew even smaller than they already were.

The sight of a soft Jisung made Y/N feel so warm and weird inside. She could feel the loud thumping of her heart in her ears. He looked so small and so awkward that she was pretty amused that a guy like him could look like that.

Aaaah... He looks so cute.

It did not take long before realisation struck her as to what she thought of him.

Before Jisung could catch Y/N staring at him, Y/N averted her gaze down to her fingers as she continued speaking.

Stupid Y/N! Be glad that he did not see you. She could just hear her conscience scolding her at the back of her head.

"It means a lot to me." An abashed Y/N confessed, playing with her fingers and not looking up at Jisung, who had his gaze fixated on her figure.

The sight of Y/N made his heart  go wild inside his body and his stomach felt so weird. He felt that same adrenaline coursing through his veins whenever he was dancing yet, this, it felt so much more stronger and powerful.

And, he did not know if he liked this feeling.

For the first time in so long, Jisung felt scared about this unknown feeling that was rising in him. He was terrified.

Being the older of the two, there was something inside of him that just snapped at that moment. It was like as if he was now a new adult who was making his very first important decision. He needed to choose one.

And whatever his choices were, he knew that he had to stop whatever this was, from progressing anywhere further.

"Yeah, well since you are technically part of this gang, I was obliged to help since you are part of the assignment that we have this week. If not I don't really care what happens to others' lives." His once cold and monotonous tone resurfaced as he snapped at her. His eyebrows furrowed at her and his hands were clutched into fists at his sides.

Obliged.

All she could hear was that word ringing through her ears as she processed his words. The sudden change in his voice raised a spark of fury in her as she tried to restrain herself from exploding at him.

"Do not think of yourself as anybody special in this team especially since you are the only girl amongst us." He reminded her.

That was all it took as he triggered her rage to explode from the confinements of the cage of her head.

"Hold up there! When did I ever say that I thought of myself as anybody special? And also, please do not trouble yourself, kind sir, by doing me a favour next time. I can handle myself very well. Thank you very much." She retorted sarcastically.

"Also, a genuine reminder, next time you want to bring this trash attitude of yours around me, please kindly dispose yourself off in the garbage bin first. You see, I have an allergy to attitudes like yours." She snapped, mentally patting herself on the bag for such great replies.

Before Jisung could say anything in response, the door slammed open for the second time that day as some bodies came tumbling in.

"Alright kids, how about we apologise and forgive and forget. Yeah, sounds great, don't you think so too?" Doyoung babbled, clapping his hands together.

The two adults stared at Doyoung in response.

"I see. Well, I tried Taeyong." He conceded before going to sit at the couch in the room.

You could see a visibly frustrated Taeyong sigh as he glared at the now slouching figure of Doyoung on the couch.

His focus then shifted back to the two younger ones who could be seen muttering some words under their breath.

"You two need to learn to get along. If not your mission day after tomorrow, is going to be a failure. And if that happens, be prepared for an intensive training for the next few weeks. Do you understand?"

Jisung and Y/N both stayed silent.

The others could be seen eyeing those two in anticipation of what was to come.

Truth be told, they knew that the two of them would rather take the trainings than get along with each other.

"Do you understand!" Taeyong's once soft-spoken voice now bellowed through the room, scaring everyone out of their wits.

A furious Taeyong was always a rare sight making it scarier for them when that side of him emerged in front of him.

Y/N and Jisung chorused a "yes", their voices quavering through the room.

"Good. Now, let us leave Y/N alone. I presume she would want some peace and a quiet time to herself." Taeyong declared, forcing the boys out of the room.

"Gosh, Jisung would it have killed it for you to actually be nice to Y/N so that my ship could have sailed successfully!"  Taeil grumbled, his clear voice resounded in the room.

And although both Jisung and Y/N had heard it clearly, they definitely did not show it on their faces.

Though their ears were tinted red.

~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing out of your bed?" Johnny exclaimed when he was making his rounds to come check up on her in the sickbay.
The sight of her trudging up the stairs using the support of the handrails along the staircase was terrifying for him. She could have fainted and none of them would even have known if Johnny had not checked up on her.
"Johnny, I'm fine. I just feel a bit claustrophobic in that room so I came out, wanting to get some fresh air. On an additional not, I just can't fall asleep in that room. Please can I go up into my own room? I promise I won't go anywhere else. You can even check up on me their regularly." She insisted.
Johnny considered it before allowing her to go to her own room.
"Alright, but, you need to eat first and take your medications. Then, you will be accompanied by one of the guys into your room. Capiche?"
"Aye, aye Captain!" She cheekily nodded, allowing Johnny to bring her to the dining room.
~~~~~~~~~~

To say she was shocked when she reached the dining room would be an understatement.

It was a mess.

The guys were sitting everywhere.

Everyone were not at their regular seats but, instead, they were at different seats.

"What's going?" She spoke a bit louder than her normal tone which still seemed to be too soft amongst the loud commotion in the room.

"Pardon?"  Johnny asked.

Y/N repeated her question loud enough for Johnny to hear.

"Oh, this. I beg your forgiveness for not explaining this before. Every two weeks, it was decided that that everyone could sit anywhere, wherever they liked for the entire week. Hence, this strange and wild arrangement."

"Why don't you have this arrangement every week? The dining hall seems so much more livelier." Y/N commented, enjoying this rather strange sight presented in front of her.

A part of her had always wanted to see something like this back when she was still residing there.

"We like to have a balance of a little fun and a little bit of us being serious here and there every once in awhile. It reminds us that we should have a balance of work and play in real life too. It's a bit odd of a reasoning but, you'll come to understand it." Johnny wistfully spoke as her guided her to a seat next to his.

"I would let you sit wherever you like but, today I want to keep an eye on you to make sure you take your medication."

"Pshh... What do you take me for? A five-year old? Puh-lease. I am not afraid of medicines at all." Y/N scoffed as she dug into her food seeing as how the rest had already begun eating.

~~~~~~~~~~
"You can't catch me. I am not taking that devil's drink. What do you take me for? An adult? Yeah right!" Y/N shrieked as she ran around the dining table.
Not even minutes after she had finished her food had Johnny brought her medicines to her.
The sight of the tablets had made her scream her lungs out. Her fear for tablets was overpowering and she would not stop wailing until Johnny finally persuaded her into drinking the liquid ones instead.
She had only drunk one when Johnny claimed that she had another two more to go. Her eyes had bulged out of her sockets, her mind shook from the information.
Since then, she had been running around the dining table, away from Johnny and his dose of bitter medicines.
The rest of the boys had already left the room after eating and were currently either practicing or relaxing in the living room or their own rooms.
"Y/N come back here! You could faint! Let's be responsible here!" Johnny screeched, his lungs starting to ache from chasing her.
"Responsible? What's that?" Y/N question, pretending to be dazzled at the word.
She continued running around with a now trailing Johnny, lagging behind her. He was already starting to give up when figure entered the room.
"Hyung, what's wrong? I heard  a lot of commotion fr-" Jisung's voice was cut off as a figure slammed into him from in front.
He fell backwards, grabbing onto the nearest thing for support which happened to be a falling Y/N's t-shirt, bringing the both of the down even faster.
Jisung landed on his back with a loud thud on the ground. Y/n had bumped her head onto Jisung's forehead, moaning in pain.
"Ouchhh..." The two of them grumbled as they held their heads, trying to massage it to alleviate the pain.
Johnny took this moment to catch up to a fallen Y/N with the dose of medicines not before shouting at Jisung to grab hold of her.
Jisung obviously did not know what he was speaking about and reacted without thinking.
His arms wrapped themselves firmly around Y/N's waist, accidentally bringing her closer to him. Their faces were now inches apart from each other. They could feel the hot breaths just gently caressing the both of their faces.
"Well, I didn't mean you had to do that but, I guess that works." He spoke realising their awkward position.
The two of them immediately sat up away from each other, bumping their heads again in the process.
"Owwiee..." Y/n whined.
"Now, since you've ben caught,  you have to take them. I promise they won't be that bitter." Johnny tried coaxing her into drinking it.
For some reason, Y/N's antics were starting to resemble one of a child.
Perhaps the drowsiness of the former medicine was starting to kick in.
Johnny realised this and whispered to Jisung.
"Quick. You try convincing her. The drowsiness will make her more easy to persuade." He nudged Jisung, urging him to say something.
Jisung, being the inexperienced one that he is in this field, fumbled around his mind, trying to think of words to coerce her into drinking them.
Noticing the fear on her face, he rushed to put his hand out, grabbing her attention.
"Here, umm... Squeeze my hand if it's too bitter for you." He rushed out his words, praying that it would work.
She looked up at him with big doe-like eyes, starting to get influenced by the medication. There seemed to be unique sparkle in her eyes that Jisung could not help but notice.
She stuck out her pinky finger as she softly stuttered, "Y...Yo...You'll stay right?"
And, in that moment, he felt himself slipping into the addiction of how small and vulnerable she looked .
He could not help himself but, interlock his very much larger pinky finger with hers. He chuckled when he saw how Y/N's eyes become even wider than they were from before as she compared the size of her teeny-weeny pinky to the large gigantic one of his.
She looked like a baby-version of Nemo with extremely big and soft eyes, clad in a blue Disney shirt with coincidentally images of Nemo on it too and a pair of black leggings.
Hence, he breathed out the first few words that came into his head, loud enough to get both their hearts to stop beating for a bit.
"I would never leave you, baby Nemo."
At this, even Johnny, who had been observing this little interaction between them blossom, could not help the whole zoo that was exploding inside his body with giddiness as he watched.
This new side of maknae was startling yet, a big indication that he was actually growing up.
It was the most precious sight that he had seen so far. Honestly, he could see why Taeil was so deadset on shipping them always.
Remembering that Y/N had yet to take her medication, he coughed awkwardly, hating himself for interrupting such a sweet moment.
"Will you take the medicines now?" He asked her softly, not wanting to scare her in any way.
She bopped her head up and down, eagerly grabbing onto Jisung's hands.
Johnny poured the medicines into tiny cups after measuring the right amount before handing it to her.
Everytime that she felt it was too bitter, she squeezed his hand.
And, everytime, he squeezed back to let her know that he would always be right beside her.
After Y/N finished the medicines, she kept on holding on Jisung's hand, not wanting to let go.
Seeing this, Johnny took this to tell him to drop Y/N off at her room so that she could call it a day.
Jisung tried refusing. However, it did not seem like Johnny seemed to be taking a no for an answer.
Grudgingly, he pulled her up and started dragging her to her room.
~~~~~~~~~~

Honestly speaking, the trip to Y/N's room was rather eventful.

All Y/N had done on the way there was ask some ridiculously weird questions.

And, all Jisung had was respond back to her questions, amused at this sight of her.

"Can potatoes fly? Oooohh... What if we got Johnny to fly? I want to see him fly." She had started rattling at one point of time and she had not stopped after that.

Jisung could not get himself to get her to keep quiet.

He liked this sight too much to stop it.

When they had finally reached her room, Jisung had got her to brush her teeth before he started tucking her into bed.

He pulled the comforters up to her chin and turned off the light switch beside her bed. She looked adorable in bed.

He had stopped himself from leaning over and placing a small kiss on her forehead.

Before he could leave from her side, she grabbed onto his wrist, stopping him successfully in his place.

"Don't leave me." She murmured, looking straight into his eyes.

Bewildered at what to say to this, he started thinking about what to say.

During this process, Y/N tugged his hand down a bit too harshly, causing a surprised Jisung to be pulled down to her face level.

At this point, the two of them were just staring into each others' eyes. Time seemed to have been frozen and a rather comfortable silence had enveloped them.

Jisung seemed to have been captured by her eyes. Her warm dark brown irises seemed to contrast the slight ring of hazel surrounding it.

He could have sworn that he saw stars in them.

While he was caught in an entrance, Y/N's lids had begun to droop before her eyes shut. Her chest was rising at a steady rate. She was breathing softly and it seemed like she had fell asleep.

Jisung snapped out of it and gently removed Y/N's hold from his wrists. He carefully placed her hands on top of her, afraid to wake her up.

He quietly crept out of the room and softly closed her door shut.

He could hear his heart hammering inside his chest at an extremely fast rate. He clutched onto his shirt and tried patting his chest, hoping to calm it down.

Just what are you doing to me.

~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere along the middle of the night, Y/N had woken up.
She had had yet another one of these dreams and was petrified to sleep by herself again.
There was a sheen of sweat that had formed on her forehead. Her heart was beating in her ears and vivid memories kept playing through her head.
She turned on the light switch next to her bed. Her body was shaking in fear. She clutched her legs close to her chest, having a tight grip on her legs.
She was petrified out of her wits. She could not bear to stay alone in this room for another second.
So, she did the first thing that she thought of.
Maybe it was the little bit of drowsiness of the medication that was making an effect on her thinking or maybe it was just her heart speaking.
She turned off her light switch and crept out of her room into the first room that she could think off.
It was a surprising name but, it was one she realised she would never trade for.
She opened his door quietly and crept to other side of his bed. She snuck inside his comforters and laid facing towards him.
Y/N was relieved that he had not woken up from his slumber.
Grateful that she was lying next to someone, she closed her eyes and tried going back to sleep.
She just hoped that she would not have a second nightmare tonight.
Have you ever felt yourself slipping into the addiction of someone that it just feels like you might be going crazy. Have you ever felt so blessed that you have the company of this one person whom you know you would never ever trade in this world because that person just makes you feel like as if you are their world?
A/N
Hey guys!
2 updates in 2 days? Is this world coming to an end?
Well, let not. I decided to be productive for once and lately, I feel like being more productive too for some reason. So, I decided to post again. I was planning on posting this Friday or Saturday but, I just could not wait to share this chapter to share this with you all. It was a bit difficult writing somewhat cute scenes for me because I am never one to indulge in romance and hence, I had a hard time thinking about it. However, I hope you guys liked it.
Anyways a fun fact about me:
I hate tablets. I just cannot seem  to get myself to swallow them which is why we always have to get the liquid version of it. I am absolutely terrified of those tiny little things.
