My doctor's appointment went well and Lonnie doctored my burns again and asked how things were going and she teased me about the hot cop and that I'm staying with him.

Once done I was traveling back to Ridges place when a cop gets behind me and pulls me over.

"Ma'am, what are you doing in this car?" He asked.

"I'm driving it duh! Aren't you Brian? You know who I am." I said.

"Ummm yeah I'm Officer Brian Mallory." He points to his name on his vest.

"So what is this about? I just came from getting my burns rewrapped."

"Ridge doesn't let anyone drive this car." He said.

"He may not but he let me. Now, what do you want before I cut your dick off and feed it to you." I spit out.

Brian burst out laughing. "Dang lady you're vicious." Ridge already told me you had his car. I was just messing."

"Do you really need anything? I need to get home to put my legs up." I frown.

"I'm sorry but no you can go and umm feel better!" He said.

I peel the tires as I pull out and look back in the rearview mirror while shifting gears and see him laughing. I can't believe him just wait until he's not in uniform and I'll get him back.

I make it back to Ridges place and drag up the steps into the house then to the kitchen to make me a sandwich. It was worth peeling out and hurting my leg shifting gears just to see Brian's face. Once I get to the couch I texted Ridge to say I made it back and his car is in one piece.

A couple of hours pass and he hasn't responded he's prob busy so I clean up my mess and lay on the couch. My legs hurt too bad to make it up the steps and I am so thankful there is a bathroom is downstairs.

I had just dozed off when Abby sent me a text.

📱Hey Alorah! Miles wants to see you can we come by tomorrow?

📱Sounds good to me! I go daily to get my legs rewrapped and I have an appointment at 10 am tomorrow and then I'll be home.

📱That sucks! I hope they are healing but ok we will see you around lunch tomorrow. Miles is so excited!😀

I lay my phone on the coffee table in front of me and dozed back off to sleep until I hear the front door open.

"Hey Ridge!" I say sitting up on the couch yawning.

"Hey hey! I brought food so I hope you like Chinese." He laughs.

"It's my favorite even though you didn't know thank you for bringing something." I smile.

"It's no problem plus I don't want to wait and cook when I get off and I don't want you on your feet." He said.

"That's nice of you." I get comfy on the couch and rest my feet on the coffee table.

"How are you feeling? How was the rewrap?"

"Sore and then Brian the jackass pulled me over as a joke and I needed to prop them up."

"I'm sorry about him but he said to tell you he was sorry and he already knew you had my car because I told him if he saw my car out that you have it."

"He was jealous and prob more so when I peeled out leaving him in the wind." I laugh.

"Oh, he didn't tell me that." He chuckles.

"Sorry I had to and oh your sister texted me and they are coming over tomorrow."

"Oh, she is? For miles to swim?" He asks.

"Yeah, I guess she just said Miles wanted to see me." I smile.

"Wow, you must be special if he wanted to see you over the pool." He laughs.

"What can I say men love me." I giggle.

"I can see that." He winks

"So what did you bring to eat?" I ask.

"I got a variety of Chinese food because I wasn't sure what your favorite was. I could have texted you but I figured you might be napping so I just got different things." He said.

"Thanks for that Ridge I love about all of it and I might shock you but I'm not like most women and just put a few things on my plate I really like to eat." I smile.

"I'm glad to hear that because otherwise there would be lots of food left. Anything you want to watch?" He asks.

"I was about to binge-watch a show I heard a lot about if you want to join me. I mean it is your house and tv." I said.

"Yeah, I'll join you. Listen anything I own is yours I want you to be comfortable so don't think anything of it."

"Hmm, anything huh? I already took over your car." I smile at him.

"I don't know about that." He laughs... "But you will be getting some money soon won't you for a new car? What are you going to get?" He asks.

"Probably another Charger. They are my favorite cars and I'd love a hellcat but they aren't cheap so I guess it depends on how much I get. I mean I got money that my parents left me that I hid in a bank account because I didn't want Dawson to know about it and here I am telling you but I don't want to spend that." I laugh.

"Well, Alorah I think you trust me and you know that I don't want your money."

"When I land on my feet I will pay you back I swear," I said.

"Listen you haven't taken anything from me and I enjoy coming home to someone I get pretty lonely." He said.

"You don't have any females come over to keep you company?" I ask.

"Nah I'm not like that and I'm not a wham-bam kind of guy. The guys at the station think I am but I'm not."

"What kind of guy are you then Ridge?" I ask.

"One that only wants one woman and someone I can settle down with and marry and have kids with."

"That sounds nice." I smile at him.

"What about you?" He asks.

"Oh I'm not sure I thought I knew what I wanted but now I don't know really. I thought I wanted a husband and kids but after Dawson, I'm terrified to even look."

"I can understand that but not all men are like him and he's a real asshole for treating you that way. Oh, I looked him up and his record is clean." He said.

"That doesn't surprise me at all I mean he is a lawyer and he has his ways around things. Anyways let's start the movie. Enough about him." I sigh.

"Sounds good to me." He smiles

Halfway through the movie, I feel myself dozing off. Next thing I know my head is in Ridge's lap and he is running his fingers through my hair.

His fingers running through my hair feels so good. It all feels so natural and that scares me. I can't be falling for him when I'm still running from Dawson.
