I had Nick take Alorah home and he agreed to stay and Caleb would help him get his truck from the hospital later.ย

I can't believe that piece of shit tried to hurt her. I realized in that instant I can't live without her and we both love each other so the next logical step is to ask her to marry me. But I'm jumping the gun a little bit I need a ring first.

I hope that asshole gets years in prison so we don't have to be bothered with him.

"Hey Ridge, can you come to my office please?" Sarge calls.

"Yeah what's up Sarge?" I sit down in a chair in front of his desk.

"So we are charging Dawson Wiles with First-degree attempted murder. He should get 10-15 years if we are lucky." Sarge said.

"Good deal Sarge I wished for more but I know how this all works. I just want that man out of her life." I said.

"I know son she's a tough cookie she took that grown man down all on her own with your help on techniques though." He said.

"Yeah, I'm glad she paid attention. She had the gun in her purse and was able to hold him on the floor with it." I said.

"Well, it's better that she didn't shoot him or we would be trying to get her out of jail," Sarge said.

"Is it ok if I leave early? I had Nick take her home but I'm worried about her and between you and me since all of this happened I have come to realize how much I love her and want her to be my wife." I said.

"Wow, son! Well, you better go get that ring and figure out a way to propose to her." Sarge smiled.

"Thanks, Sarge I appreciate it." I smile and head back to my desk to lock everything up to leave.

"Where are you going man?" Brian asked.

"Sarge said I could leave early I need to go check on my girl," I said.

"I heard you checking on her earlier in the bathroom." He laughed.

"Oh shut up you're just jealous." I laugh.

"Oh for sure I am." Brian laughs and sits at his desk.

"Later asshole," I smirk and walk out the door toward my cruiser.

I decide to text Nick to let him know I would be home soon and check on Alorah.

๐Ÿ“ฑHey, Nick, I'm getting off soon is she ok?

๐Ÿ“ฑHey Ridge! Yeah, she's upstairs napping right now so take your time I'm outside with my feet in your pool.

๐Ÿ“ฑSounds good man! I'll be there shortly and thanks!

I decided since I have time that I'm going to stop by a jewelry store in town and look around at rings and prices and see if anything jumps out at me.

I walk into the town jewelry store and see Ms. Virginia Greybel she's been the owner of this jewelry store since before I was born.

"Well look here if it isn't Ridge Cavanaugh." She smiles.

"Hello, Ms. Greybel how are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm good sweetie what can I do for you?" she asks.

"Well, I'm looking for a ring more specific an engagement ring." I smile.

"Oh, that lucky girl that blew into town a few months ago has stolen your heart huh?" She asked.

"Yeah she has and she deserves the perfect ring." I smile.

"Well come over here and let me show you what I have and see if you like anything." She said.

I walk over to the jewelry case and she pulls out a tray of nice diamonds on it and I look at each of them trying to figure out which one I feel suits her.ย  When my eyes land on this beautiful ring I smile.

"Can I see this one?" I point to the ring that has caught my eye.

"This is a solitaire square engagement ring with a floating diamond band." She said.

"This is the one Ms. Graybel." I smile looking down at the diamonds shining.

"Well, that was easy what size do you need do you know?" She asked.

"I actually do because she told me. I need a size 8." I said.

"Well perfect that's what this one was is. Let's get you checked out and on your way." She smiles.

She tells me the amount and I whip out my credit card because no amount is too much for my girl. She wraps it all up and hands me the bag.

"I appreciate your business Ridge. Bring that pretty girl in here so I can see her with the ring one day." She smiles.

"I sure will thank you Ms. Graybel! You have a good day." I said as I walked out the door to my cruiser.

I am in such a good mood now I gotta come up with a plan. Maybe Alorah is still asleep and I can talk to Nick about it. Maybe shes told him where she wants proposed to.

I pull into the driveway and basically skip into the house but I don't see Alorah or Nick so I look out the window at the pool and see Nick still by the pool.

"Hey, Nick! I'm finally home." I smiled.

"Your all smiles after what all happened today." He said.

"I am but for a different reason. I stopped by a jewelry store on the way home." I smile.

"No, you didn't! For what I think it is?" He asks.

"Yeah tell me if you see her but look," I said pulling out the ring to show him.

"Holy shit that's beautiful and so her," Nick said.

"Do you happen to know what her perfect engagement is? I mean she hasn't told me anything and I have no idea." I said putting the ring back in my pocket.

"She really hasn't but she loves the outdoors but I have an idea. How about you take her out to a nice dinner and me and Caleb can decorate out here and make it romantic and I mean even the girls and Lonnie can help and we can make it beautiful." Nick said.

"Wow, that sounds like a really good idea. Do you think that you guys can get it together for next weekend? Maybe Saturday? I can make dinner plans somewhere." I said.

"That would be perfect. I will text you later in the week and we can get it all figured out now shut up here she comes." Nick laughs.
