She's so beautiful and when she walked out of the bathroom in those shorts holy shit she looked good. I can't take my eyes off of her watching her play with Miles even does something to me. I never thought about being a dad but she makes me think crazy thoughts even tho we just met.

"Ridge where did you go?" Abby asked.

"I'm sorry sis just work stuff on my mind."

"Did you find out who done this to Alorah?"

"No, it was a hit and run and even though I got a good look at the van I was to busy trying to get to her."

"She's so great with Miles just look at them! He already likes her." Abby smiles.

"He ain't the only one," I smirked at her.

"I had a feeling maybe, I mean you have never asked me to help you before with anything work-related."

"I just feel for her she doesn't have anyone and she's all alone."

"Well, she not lonely now." Abby squeezes my shoulder.

"Miles we need to go because I have errands to do but we will come back later and visit Alorah ok?" Abby said.

"Do I have to go mommy?"

"Yes, sir you do now let's go." Abby stands up and grabs her purse.

Miles reaches up and hugs Alorah around the neck and says. "Don't worry ok? I'll be back."

"Ok, sweetie and thanks so much for visiting me." Alorah smiles at Miles.

"Come on kiddo let me help you down.
I blow raspberries on his face and he squeals. "Cya later ok?"

"Ok Uncle Ridge. Bye Alorah and buzzy!"

Abby takes his hand and they walk out the door.

"He's something else isn't he?" Ridge asks

"He's a cute kid. I like him."

"He likes you too Alorah."

"I appreciate all you have done for me Ridge but you don't have to stay I know you are probably tired and need some proper rest and a shower."

"Are you saying I stink?"

"Nooo, I'm not saying that Ridge. I just thought..."

"I'm just messing with you. How about I go home shower pick us up something to eat and I'll be back?"

"Sounds good to me. I'm hungry and let's face it this food is shit." She laughs

"Yeah it is pretty bad I have to agree. Ok well, I'll head out now do you need anything before I go?"

"Could you maybe hand me the water? I'm thirsty." She asks.

"I can do that." He smiles

"Thank you! I'm going to take a nap now." She says while fluffing her pillow.

"Sounds good I'll be back shortly get some rest." I walk over to her bed and squeeze her hand.

Walking out of the room I had an urge to kiss her forehead but I didn't and I don't know how she feels about me if anything.

I walk down to my cruiser hop in and head to my house. I own a two-story house with three bedrooms and two baths plus I have a nice pool out back which I never get to enjoy. Maybe I will ask Alorah to just stay with me.

I work so much that we would have our own space I think out loud as I climb the steps and head to the shower.

After cleaning up and putting on some clean clothes I head out the door to the diner down the road that most of us cops go to all the time.

"Hey, sugar! What can I get you?"

"Hey, Polly! Can I get 2 cheeseburgers and fries and 2 cokes to go, please? Oh, wait and 2 pieces of pecan pie?"

"Hungry are we?" Polly asks.

"Oh, it's not all for me. I'm headed back to the hospital."

"Oh yeah, Brian mentioned something about that. It's nice of you to stay with that girl."

"She doesn't have anyone and the accident took the rest so Abby brought her some clothes and Miles is in love with her." I chuckle.

"He doesn't seem like the only one." She smirked and then walks back out with two bags of food.

"Thanks, Polly! Did you throw some ketchup in there?"

"I did and some salt," she says.

"Thanks, Polly I appreciate it. Catch you later."

"Enjoy sugar!" She says.

Getting back in the car and heading over to the hospital I hope she likes the food because I don't really know what she likes to eat.

Walking back into her room she was awake just staring at the ceiling.

"Hey there Alorah! Your awake!"

"Hey Ridge! Yeah just staring at the ceiling as you can see there isn't much to do around here. She said.

"Well I brought food and I hope you like pecan pie."

"It's my favorite actually." She smiles.

"Well, then I made a good choice." I pull out the cheeseburgers and fries and ketchup and salt and hand her a coke as well.

"I appreciate the food and whenever I can access the bank I'll pay you back," she says.

"No don't worry about it. This is on me I Just hope you enjoy the food."

"It sure smells good and so do you," she says.

"Well, I did go home and shower." I laugh

Alorah smiles at me and giggles. "Gosh this cheeseburger tastes so good and I'm ready to get out of here. But where would I go and I have no car."

"Listen about that I have been thinking, I don't live far from here and I'm always at work and I have a two-story house with three bedrooms and you are more than welcome to stay with me until you get on your feet."

"Ridge I couldn't! I have already imposed on you enough."

"Listen it won't be forever but you can stay and I'll help you get a car and in the meantime, you can drive mine because I'm always in the cruiser."

"Ok I don't want to argue and I'll be forever grateful but I just don't want to be in anyone's way," she says.

"You won't be I promise and even Miles can come visit you some. I'm sure he will love that."

"I will too and maybe I can ask around about a job once I'm on my feet I need to get to work," she says.

"So was you just passing through to Georgia or that's where you were headed.?" I ask.

"It's where I was headed but I wasn't sure exactly where." She says fiddling with her napkin.

"I had to do a background check on you to find out your last name and I saw you're from Charlotte North Carolina."

"Yeah, I just had to get away from there because it became too toxic for me."
