The next morning the alarm wakes us up and Ridge heads to his room to change clothes and get ready for work and I make it to the bathroom and wash my face, brush my teeth and pull my hair up into a bun on top of my head. I walk back to the bedroom to find him sitting on the bed.

"What are you wanting to wear I'll get it for you and help you dress so we can leave together." He said.

"Those leggings and any shirt in the closet please," I said grabbing my shoes.

"How about this Nike shirt?" He says turning around with it.

"That's perfect Ridge" I smile.

"Boy, you sure aren't picky at all you don't really see that nowadays. He laughs.

"Well I don't have many clothes to fuss about options and I just don't care what people think." I shrug.

"Come on let me carry you out to the car," he said.

He swoops me up again and carries me all the way to his Chevelle making me hang on for dear life.

"I appreciate you doing all this heavy lifting." I giggle.

He sets me on my feet and pulled me close. "Be careful ok? I worry about your legs." He said.

"I promise to get your car back in one piece," I smirk.

"I wasn't talking about the car I mean you Alorah and I really need to get going to work." He leans in closer.

I pull him by his gun belt and lean in closer to him and reach up to kiss him. When our lips meet his are so soft that I get lost in that kiss. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me so close to him as he deepened the kiss.

"I really gotta go baby girl." He says on my lips.

"Ok if you must." I sigh running my fingers down his bulletproof vest.

"Please be careful out there Ridge and I'll cya this evening."

"I will be and I will see you this evening." He smiles and waves before getting in his cruiser.

I get in his car and head toward the hospital with a few mins to spare. Walking in I spot Lonnie right away and she smiles and motions me on.

"Hey, girlie how's it going?" I ask.

"It's going it's been a busy morning and I'm so glad to be off tomorrow." She said.

"Oh speaking of that Ridge and I talked last night and would love to invite you and your hubby over for a bbq are you guys free tomorrow?"

"I'm pretty sure EJ is off tomorrow and that would be fun." Lonnie smiles.

"He has a big pool out back and we thought about inviting his sister and her husband and son and his mom and maybe a few guys from the station. I would really love for you guys to come." I said.

"Let me text EJ and see he knows who you are because I talk about you often and I'll get that stuff to wrap your legs I'll be right back." She said.

She walks back over with her medical supplies when her phone beeps. "He said he's off and would love to come so I just need the address and a time." She said.

"That's great! I'm excited even though I can't get in the pool which is a bummer but we can sit on the sidelines and have lemonade or alcohol it's going to be fun." I smile.

"Oh reminds me there is a position opening up very soon for Dr. Shaw he's a pediatrician here and I mentioned you and he wants to talk to you so do you have a few mins after this wrap?" Lonnie asks.

"Oh my yes! I have plenty of time and Lonnie thank you so much. I was hoping to get a job soon once I'm able to walk more." I said.

"He knows about your burns and said he would take it easy on you and let you learn the office so let me call him and see if he will come down." She says.

"I appreciate all of this Lonnie I really do I'm so nervous and look at how I am dressed omg he will think terrible of me." I stutter.

In walks a man late 30s early 40s handsome with black hair and a nice build. "Hi I'm Dr. Shaw but you can call me Andrew. Lonnie told me what's going on and that you previously worked for a pediatrician?" He asks.

"Nice to meet you, Dr. Shaw Umm Andrew. I'm Alorah Hart and yes I did work for a doctor for almost three years until this happened." I smile.

"Well once I get some credentials I am more than willing to bring you along and we will work things around your legs." He said.

"That sounds so good thank you so much and I will get the info you need and when I come back Monday for a rewrap I'll get them to you," I said.

"Sounds good to me if you want to just give them to Lonnie to avoid all that walking and I'll be in touch and oh make sure to put your phone number on the papers." He said.

"Thank yay so much Dr. Shaw I really appreciate it," I say as he walks away.

"He's easy on the eyes huh Alorah?" Lonnie giggles.

"Eh he's ok but he's no sexy cop." I wink.

"Oh definitely." Lonnie giggles.

"Ok girl I gotta get going so thanks again for talking to Dr. Shaw and I will see you and the hubby tomorrow," I said.

"I can't wait Alorah! Bye!" Lonnie waves bye.

I decide to swing by the diner and get a BLT sandwich and fries and a shake. When I pull up a couple of cop cars are there.

I walk in the door and see Polly right away. "Hey sugar what can I get you?" She ask.

I tell her my order and look around noticing the cops but I don't see Ridge so I sit at the counter and wait for my food. I decide to text Ridge.

📱Hey, Ridge, I stopped by the diner to get some food where are you? I see a few of your cop buddies but not you.
