Work was shitty and I couldn't wait to get home to Alorah and walking in the door to whatever that smell had my mouth watering.

I looked around for her and didn't see hers so I called her name and nothing and then I saw her sitting on the steps of the pool.

"Hey what's going on?" I ask.

"Waiting for you to eat." She gets up and walks over to me and grabs my arm and leads me to the kitchen.

"It smells so good. What did you make?" I ask.

"Well Miles and I made spaghetti and meatballs." She smiles.

I smile because she included my nephew. "You and Miles huh? How did that go?"

"With Miles it was great he helped me to make the meatballs. Will you get two plates please?" She asks.

"Sure can and it sounds like you guys have been busy and I hope you found everything ok," I said.

"I did Abby helped a lot with that and at the store I had issues and Brian's mom helped me and then Dylan the boy you mentored helped me get them in your car. I didn't think all that through but I wanted to make you a meal." She smiles at me.

"Well, it was nice of you to go through all this trouble for me." I can't help but smile at her.

"Ridge you have done so much for me I just wanted to do something nice for you plus everyone loves my mom's recipe. I even gave Abby some to take home for them and Miles wanted his daddy to have some." She said.

"Miles has a big heart like Abby and hopefully, you will meet Jacob soon but he works a lot," I said.

"That what Abby told me and she said he was a lawyer and I told her I may need one of those soon." She sighed.

"Why would you need that?" I ask.

"I don't know but I don't trust Dawson with anything." She frowns.

"This is really good like really really good." I smile.

The way she smiles at me does something to me. Shit shake it off Cavanagh.

"There is enough for you to take to work tomorrow if you want to." She says.

"Oh, I want to for sure this is awesome plus I don't get home-cooked meals often unless Patricia stops by the station and brings us stuff but that's mostly cookies," I said.

"I can bake cookies too I just need to get my legs healed if I'm still around then." She frowns.

"Alorah I want you to stay here even once your on your feet you can rent a room if it would make you feel better," I say.

"Now Ridge how would that look when you bring a woman back here?" She says.

"Don't you worry about that because that's not my thing," I said.

"Come on your a cop, a nice looking guy at that and you have to have women falling at your feet." She smiles.

"Your funny Alorah! Nah I don't get that attention and frankly I don't want it." I said.

"Then your blind to it." She laughs.

"It's been a few years ago now but I had this girl that would never leave me alone and if I see her out now she is all in my face trying to get attention but I can't stand that." I shudder.

"Did you ever do anything with her to make her feel this way?" She asks.

"Hell no, I've never touched Rhonda. She just won't get the drift." I said.

"Well, then I don't know what to tell ya." She laughs.

"Let me clean up and how about we go out for some ice cream?" I smile at her.

"Sounds good let me get this off the eye to cool and we can put it up later. I always have room for ice cream." She giggles.

I grab her hand and help her out to my car. "How do you like the car?" I ask.

"I love it!Β  My dads, his was red and he loved that thing and he took me riding all the time and burning out. Where do you think I got that from?" she giggles.

"I like burning out too and I've had it for years and worked on it here and there," I said.

"Dylan told me that he helped you some." She smiles at me.

"He did and he was going down the wrong path and I became his mentor and he's a good kid now. His dad was killed a couple years before I met him in a car wreck and he acted out." I said.

"That was nice of you Ridge. Ohh is this the diner with the good cheeseburger?" She asks.

"Yeah, it is. Let's go in and get us a banana split if you like them." I wink at her.

"Oh, I do." She opens the car door to get out but I'm already at her side to help.

Walking in the door. "Well hey, sugar! How's it going?" We were greeted.

"Hey, Polly! It's good! We came for some ice cream." I smile.

"Go to your booth and I'll be right over." She smiles.

"You must come here a lot Ridge," she said.

"All of us cops do because It's a 24-hour diner and I've known Polly my whole life." I smile.

"Alrighty, then 2 banana splits? With nuts?" Polly asks.

"Yeah sounds good Polly umm Alorah is that ok for you?" I ask.

"Hi, Umm yeah sounds good to me." She smiles.

"Aren't you a pretty little thing. You're staying with Ridge right? This town is small and the gossip is loud." She laughs.

"Yeah, that would be me." Alorah smiles at her.

Once the banana splits are sitting in front of us we have small talk while eating. Alorah is facing the door so I can't see who comes and goes and when she gets up and comes sits beside me I'm puzzled.

"A woman is coming right for us and I'm not sure If it's your stalker but that's why I moved over to save you." she giggles.

"Hi, Ridge! What are you doing here tonight?" The woman asks while wacking on gum.

"Hi, Rhonda. As you can see eating ice cream." I bluntly say.

"Ridge and I are on a date. I'm Alorah." She smiles at Rhonda.

"Oh." That's all she says.

Alorah turns toward me and giggles. "You have ice cream on your face. Here let me get it." She leans over and wipes it off my face with her finger and licks it off.

I smile at her. "Thanks for that baby girl."

"Is there something you need Rhonda?" Alorah asks.

"Umm no just wanted to say hi to Ridge."

"Well, you did. If you don't mind we would like to finish our date." Alorah smiles at her.

Rhonda stomps off and out the diner.

"Well, she's never left so fast." I chuckle.

"It was creepy just standing there watching." she laughs.

"Alorah you gotta watch out for her. You are now on her radar." I said.

"It's a good thing I have a cop to protect me." She winks at me and licks her spoon.
