~June 6th (day of the wedding), 9:00 am~

*Norah's POV*

"Wake up!" Jude squealed, his small body doing little to jostle me as he jumped around on the bed. "Momma, wake up! Daddy left earlier and he told me to keep you safe."

"You know what?" I faked horror. "I think I saw a big, scary monster in my closet last night. Will my little hero check it out?"

He stood up bravely and nodded. "I need my sword!"

His little feet pattered out into the hallway and I laughed, running my hand through my hair as I let out a deep breath.

One month ago, our adoption papers for Jude finally cleared the system and we brought him home in early May. Since then, life had been bliss. Our baby was healthy and perfect, Ernie had (barely) graduated obedience school, and Harry and I got our work schedules synced so I got home at five and he got home shortly after. Most days Jude would go to Pre-K then be watched by my mom and dad until I swung by and got him. Everything was wonderful and Harry and I had never been happier. We were finally a family.

"Found it!" He giggled loudly as his stubby little legs carried him to my closet. "Ready, mommy?"

I pulled the covers up to my chin and nodded. "Ready!"

He pulled open the door and yelled, then used his plastic sword to smack some of Harry's suits and mess up his shoes. I knew Harry wouldn't be happy but I would just tell him it was me and he wouldn't care.

"You got it!" I said in awe. "You saved me, Jude!"

He stood triumphantly on my bed and placed his hands on his hips, his pajamas now a little sideways and bunched up from our adventure.

"Okay buddy, time to get you in the bath," I sighed as I threw my covers aside and stood up. The sun was shining gloriously through my window and hitting every piece of furniture, illuminating the whole room so it looked like a big sun box.

"I'm clean," he protested as he sulked behind me into his bathroom. "Really, I promise."

"How about I get the bubbles and we can have a bubble bath?" I widened my eyes like I was excited about the bath myself. It tricked him.

"Yay! I'll get all my ships and pirates."

I shook my head slightly and turned the water on, then poured a healthy amount of bubbles into the water. He would just love this.

I was just getting ready to pull my hair up when I heard heavy footsteps and a familiar cologne filled my nostrils.

"Darling, what are you doing?" Harry chuckled as he looked at the frothing water. "Aren't you suppose to be getting ready for something?"

I pouted slightly. "He really needs a bath."

"Gretchen is outside and she's got about a million suitcases so I'm guessing that's all for you?"

"Great," I sighed deeply, rolling my eyes as I heard Jude clamber back into the room. "Can you finish this up for me, then?"

"I have to go pick up the cake, babe."

"Who's going to stay with Jude? He can't be alone while I'm getting ready."

"I already called my mum and she should be here any minute, okay? Don't worry about a thing, today is all about you."

I wrapped my hands loosely around his neck and he kissed my cheek, his lips lingering for a second until they drifted down to my neck.

"Go," he laughed, patting my bottom gently before he pulled away. "I'll get him started, you go deal with your family."

"I love you," I called as I left the bathroom. "Good luck!"

I heard him laughing. "You too!"

~12:00 pm~

"Hurry up!" My mom said hurriedly as she pushed me into the limo. "You're going to be late to your own wedding if you don't-"

"We're coming!" Gretchen called with a laugh. "Come on, Nor. Mom is about to give herself a freaking aneurism."

I giggled and we held hands as we walked into the warm sunshine and everyone helped me load my train into the car. My dress was a very form-fitting, lace dress with a beautiful long train and beaded detailing on the long sleeves. It was my dream dress and I felt like a princess every time I looked in the mirror.

"You look gorgeous!" My mom yelled as the driver pulled away with Gretchen, Kat and me in the car. "We're right behind you, darling!"

The church was huge with authentic stain glass windows and high ceilings, making it the perfect blend of modern and traditional. Harry's parents picked it out but I was happy to agree. It was a very pretty building.

"Come on, come on," Kat laughed as she tugged me out of the low back seat. "Harry is going to think you left him at the altar."

"Holy crap," I said suddenly, my eyes widening in realization. "I'm getting married. Shit."

"You'll be fine," Gretchen smiled. "You love Harry, right?"

"Yes."

"Then you'll be great, okay? Okay! Now let's go."

We went straight to the bride's quarters and they helped my finish up my hair and makeup while my mom walked around my dress and throughly inspected it. The whole morning felt like a blur and it definitely hadn't sunk in that I was getting married. Honestly it felt a lot like prom.

"Norah, they're ready," Anne said softly as she peeked in the door. Immediately she broke down into tears and went to hug my mom, which made more tears spill from my mom's eyes (even though she promised us she was done).

"You look so beautiful," Kat smiled up at me, her eyes now shining with tears as well. "I'm so proud of you, Nor. You and Harry are perfect."

"Seconded," Gretchen called as she took one hand and Kat took the other. "We love you, okay? Don't trip and you'll be fine."

I laughed through my own tears and hugged them both, my face pressing to Kat's shoulder briefly before I pulled away and wiped my tears off carefully.

My heart seemed to stop as I stood behind the giant oak doors to the church, my dad's arm looped through mine and my head resting on his shoulder as I tried to control my erratic breathing.

"You're so gorgeous," he smiled proudly. "You two deserve each other, you really do. But you'll always be my little girl, okay? I love you Norah." He kissed my temple and I breathed in his scent like it would be my last time to ever smell it.

Suddenly I heard the music start up and I breathed in, trying to control my mind even though it was screaming a million different thoughts. I just hoped I could make it down the aisle in one piece.

The doors swung open and I felt a rush of cool air hit my body as everyone looked at me. I could easily pick out Zayn standing next to Harry on the altar, a huge grin on his face as Gretchen and Kat finished their walk and stood at the altar.

Finally it was my turn. The very recognizable song began and my dad squeezed my hand before taking the first step. The first step towards Harry and my life with him. The first step towards a lifetime of happiness with the man who was so perfect for me.

As I looked at Harry, I saw that he was staring down at the ground, his hair perfectly styled like the rest of him. But at the very second I began my walk, he looked up and our eyes locked together. I could feel the emotion in his gaze and I knew he was crying as a large hand went to cover his mouth.

I finally reached him and his hands slipped into mine, his eyes never leaving me as he mouthed the magic words: I love you, princess.

OMFG THIS IS SO CHEESY IDK
