My phone rings I look down and see it's Avah and I smile.

📱Hey babe where are you?

📱Levi, it's Hunter. Avah has been in an accident and on her way to the hospital. She gave me her phone before she passed out.

📱Oh, fuck! Hunter, where did they take her?

📱To the hospital near her work. I'm on my way to get you now. I know you can't drive.

📱Thanks, Hunter ill be waiting.

My heart is in my throat and I'm so scared for Avah and the baby. I call Gray and told him what was going on so he would keep Violet.

Gray runs outside over to the porch. "I can take you." He said.

"It's ok Hunter is on his way and he has her phone and he saw the accident but I'll keep you informed," I said.

As soon as I saw Hunter's truck I walked as fast as I could on my cane and got in.

"Thanks for picking me up. Can you tell me what happened?" I asked.

I was just getting home and I had got out of my truck and saw Avah she waved at me and the next thing I know a maroon SUV plowed into her." He said.

"Shit! Did you say a maroon SUV?" I ask.

"Yeah, and a woman was driving. After she plowed into Avah she sped off but I didn't get a good look at her because I was trying to help Avah." Hunter said.

"That fucking bitch! I know exactly who it was." I said.

"I'm sorry Levi. I wish I could tell you more." He said.

"Oh, Hunter you have helped me a lot I appreciate it," I said as we pulled up at the hospital.

I get out and walk into the ER as fast as I can. I walk up to the desk and a nurse is sitting there. "Can I help you?" She asked.

"Yes, my fiancé was brought in Avah Jax. I need to know where she is please." I said.

"Umm she's in cubical five being checked but you can go back just follow me." She said.

My heart was beating so fast and my legs were shaking but once the curtain was pulled back and I saw her I felt I could relax. "Thank you," I said as I walked over to her bed and held her hand.

Her eyes were shut and they had all sorts of monitors on her and I could hear the baby's heartbeat which was a good sign.

A few minutes later a doctor walked in. "Hi I'm Avahs doctor and you are?" He asked.

"Avahs fiancé. Levi Reece." I said.

"Mr. Reece we have Avah in an induced coma to let the swelling on her brain go down. She's physically ok and so is the baby. She hit her head pretty hard on the steering wheel." He said.

"How long will she have to stay this way?" I ask.

"Can't say yet. Hopefully a day or two the swelling will go down and we can wake her up. But she's getting much-needed rest now." He said.

"Thank you, doctor," I said.

"I'm Doctor Von. I'm sorry I don't think I said." He smiled.

Hunter walked into the room and he said there was an officer who wanted to speak to me. "I already told him my story. I'll sit with Avah." He said.

"Thanks, Hunter." I walked out into the waiting room where an officer was standing.

"Mr. Reece, can you answer some questions for me? Hunter told me that you mentioned you knew who hit Ms. Jax." I said.

"I do. It sounds crazy but for the last several months Avah was being followed. She told me when she was four months old she was adopted. Her parents were killed in an accident and she has an older sister she doesn't know."

"And you think it's her?" The officer asked.

"I know it is. The stalker turned out to be her sister which we, later on, learned it's my ex-wife. I know it's crazy but she has a maroon SUV. Hunter didn't see her face but did see it was a woman." I said.

"Well, the apartment building has cameras so we will be getting those and I'll need you to see. Is she mad that Ms. Jax is engaged to you?" He asked.

"No said she just wanted to see if she was better off than Avah. Courtney and I have a ten-year-old daughter that she gave up four years ago. She doesn't want me or her daughter but she hates Avah for some reason." I said sighing.

"I'm officer Tom and here is my card. Give me your number and I'll be in touch once we get the tapes." He said.

After the officer left I call Gray.

📱Hey Levi how is Avah?

📱She's ok and so is the baby but they put her in an induced coma because she has swelling on her brain where she hit the steering wheel.

📱What the fuck Levi?

📱I've talked to the cops and they are reviewing the videotapes from the apartments. I told them it was Courtney.

📱Good. We will keep Violet and we haven't told her anything.

📱Thank you! But Gray I need a favor. Can you go over and tell Jay? I don't want Jody upset.

📱I can do that. Do you need anything?

📱Yeah, my meds I'm in pain and I don't plan to leave. I'm going to send Hunter home.

📱Alright ill be there soon.

📱Thanks, Gray.

I put my phone back in my pocket and walk back into the room. "Thanks for staying Hunter but you can go. I'm going to be staying." I said.

"Do you need anything?" He asked.

"No I'm good Gray is on his way. Thanks though." I smile.

"I'm glad I could help. Oh here is her cell phone. Also, her purse is in my truck. I'll go get it." Hunter said.

"Thanks, Hunter!" I walk over and sit down and hold her hand.
