"Who is that kid Yeonjun mentioned?", Jake asked.

The friends were packing some items to bring with them to Yeonjun's house.

"I remember seeing him briefly a while back.", Jay said, "Sweet kid. I always wondered what happened to him."

"Well maybe we can find him. We got Seonwoo back. We can find him too."

Jay and Jake continued to pack their things.

Seonwoo had a lot of stuff that the friends kept of his. Heeseung helped him pack. He also took the opportunity to ask some questions.

"So, Seonwoo, tell me a bit about this family."

"Okay! Lani is the oldest. She's really sweet. She protects me. She even tried to stop our mother and father from doing bad things to me."

"She did?"

"Yeah. Sometimes Father would to more than just hit me. And Lani would try to help, but she couldn't."

Heeseung stared at Seonwoo.

"What would he to do you?"

"Oh i can't say. Father said it was a secret. Not even Mother knows! How crazy is that?"

Seonwoo carried his bag out of the room.

Heeseung stood there, unsure of what to make of what Sunoo just told him.

He picked up his bag and followed the younger friend out of the room.

Most of the other members were waiting.

"Is he coming to pick us up?", Niki asked.

"He is.", Heeseung said, looking at Sunoo.

Jay and Jake came into the area and stood with the others.

There was a moment of silence amongst the seven.

Suddenly Seonwoo said something.

"They told me about him."

Everyone looked at him.

"The boy before me. Mother and Father talked about him a lot. They really liked him. They called him my big brother."

"Did they say what happened to him after they let him go?", Jay asked.

"All they told me was that he was just like me! They said he was really smart, but they couldn't keep him so they dropped him off."

"Where?", Sunghoon wondered.

"Somewhere in their first tour location before I joined. They spent a whole three days in Busan."

The friends made eye contact.

Maybe this kid was still around there. But it's been over 18 months. Would he still be alive?

A horn honked outside.

The boys went to the door and saw Yeonjun pulling up in his truck. He had an RV attached to the back that may or may not have been his.

"Get in losers. Except for you Seonwoo, you're an angel."

"Thank you Junie."

Seonwoo decided to sit passenger seat with Yeonjun in the truck.

The other six friends got into the rv.

When Yeonjun drove off, he decided to start a conversation with Seonwoo.

"So how are you?"

"I'm sad."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to leave Mother and Father. But...Lani said I have to."

"Hmm. You really care about these people?"

"I do! They're my family. I will always love my family."

"I see. Did they...ever talk about Kai?"

"Oh, you mean my big brother. Yes. Sometimes. They had to let him go. They said I was becoming another him. I guess he was the best they had."

"Was?"

"Yeah. They left him somewhere in Busan. He was fully dependent on them. Lani said she didn't think he could make it without them."

Yeonjun bit his lip.

Those horrible people hurt his baby. And he had no idea if he was still alive.

"Seonwoo, why do you dedicate yourself to them so much?"

"Because they told us we had to. They want us to be better performers, and better people."

"Us? How many of you are there?"

"Besides my sisters and I...probably three."

"Were they taken like you?"

"Yep. But they're not part of the siblings. No, they're staff members. They work for Mother."

"What are their names? And not their stage names, their real ones."

"Oh easy! Shota, Jiung, and Taeyang. They're so nice."

"How long is this circus going to be in Seoul?"

"A week."

"Good. Because we have a lot of work to do."

Yeonjun lived about 45 minutes away by car.

The members enjoyed the peace of the ride. They were ready for some relief from the stress of the last few days by being at Yeonjun's house.

That was until they remembered that he had roommates.

When they pulled into the circular driveway of the mansion, a boy came outside.

He had lion pajamas, messy black hair, and the prettiest eyes the boys had ever seen.

This, was Kang Taehyun.

"Hi everyone. I'm Taehyun."

"Hyunie why are you outside? You're sick, go lay down.", Yeonjun said, taking some of the boys bags.

"But I wanted to help."

"You can help me by going back to bed. Shoo."

Taehyun reluctantly went inside.

The interior was modern with some wood accents. It was nice and clean, perfect to Yeonjun's standards.

The boys were greeted again by another housemate.

"Hi. I made brownies. Do you want some?"

The tall boy stood holding a pan of freshly baked chocolate brownies.

His messy blonde hair barely covered his eyes.

This, was Choi Soobin.

"I'll take a brownie.", Jay said.

"I second that.", Niki replied.

While those two ate brownies, Yeonjun showed the rest where they would be sleeping.

Some were with Soobin.

Some were with Taehyun.

Lastly, Jungwon and Sunoo were split between Yeonjun and a fourth boy, who wasn't home at the time.

"Thank you again Yeonjun. For letting us stay here.", Heeseung said.

"Anything for you all and this baby sunshine."

Seonwoo smiled at him.

"Now all of you try and take it easy. It should be smooth sailing from here."

"You let him go?! Lani what is wrong with you?!"

"Lily it's no big deal. Don't you want Seonwoo to be free?"

"I want mom and dad to not take their anger out on us! Now what? We take all the hits?"

"We don't have to. If we just stand up against them-"

"No Lani. It's no use. Just...we need Seonwoo back."

"No. You leave him alone."

"I'm not going to be the one to find him."

The door to the girls trailer opened.

A red haired boy stepped through.

Lily smiled at Lani.

"You know Shota, right?"

"Of course. He was here before Seonwoo."

"He is going to find him, and bring him back."

Lani looked at Shota.

He had almost this programmed smile on his face. She knew he wasn't happy, but he had been trained to always look like he was.

Shota never spoke, at least not to the girls.

They've actually never heard his voice.

Lily walked to Shota, whispering in his ear. He nodded before looking and Lani and leaving the trailer.

"What did you tell him?"

"Nothing important for you. Lani you have been a constant bother to this family. For so long you have tried to stop Mother and Fathers progress."

"For a good reason."

"To feel good about yourself?"

Lily turned around, going to the drawer in the room.

"I'm sorry Lani."

She turned around, pointing the gun at Lani.

"There's only room enough for one sister in this family."

The sound of the gun firing was heard across the circus grounds.

Shota stood by Mother, who smiled.

"That's my girl Lily. Good job."

She looked down towards Shota.

"Go. Find Seonwoo. Take some help with you if you need."

He nodded.

"Good boy. Now hurry."

He quickly ran off.

Mother stood there for a while, thinking. Part of her felt sympathy for these boys. Bit if this family was going to be the greatest circus empire ever, they needed talent.

And these boys had it.

She didn't think of it as brainwashing. She thought of it as teaching.

All of these boys, and Lily, are completely devoted to them. So much so that they would give their lives for them.

She sighed, leaning against the wall.

She thought of Kai, Seonwoo, Shota, Jiung, and Taeyang. All of the boys they have tried to make perfect.

In her eyes, she failed.

But she would keep trying, no matter what.

Even if it meant bringing them down with her.
