~•~•~•~

AT SCHOOL, we acted like nothing happened.

Chris and I were surprisingly normal and Bree were looking at us suspicious ly.

"When did you guys treated each other like normal friends?" Bree asked.

Friends.

That sucks.

Yesterday, I can't sleep and I can feel black circles under my eyes. I was thinking about Chris. It seems like I can't get him out of my mind. Chris was everywhere on my mind. I even think of him when I was about to shower. What the hell is wrong with me?

The word 'friends' really bothered me and I knew that I shouldn't be bothered of it.

"Since when you started hanging out with Carter?" I asked.

Ever since I went along with the 'prank' and other stuff, they started to get cozy with each other and hanging out often.

I didn't mean to sound somewhat annoyed, because I did left them out when I was with Chris so it's a fair point.

"Uhh.. I- I- We- We're just friends." She forced a smile and grinned.

"You just stuttered."

Bree is stuttering and that means she's lying. It's one of her secret habits that I discovered long ago.

The bell rings loudly and I walked to my History class.

I sat on the right corner and saw Chris waving at me. He walked towards me and sat beside me then, he smiled gloriously at me.

My breath hitched and my heart were doing this some kind of weird noises. It beats hard and fast like I was running on a marathon.

My face were flushing like crazy and I shake my thighs vigorously.

He noticed it and smirked devilishly.

I almost fainted.

Why did I never noticed that his smirk is so hot-

Scratch that, the sun is way much hotter and the teacher walked in the class and started flipping pages and write down some notes on the whiteboard.

I really, really pay attention at her but Chris right arm were brushing my left arm.

The atmosphere were suddenly so hot even the sun cannot even beat it.

No, Hailey. Stop blushing!

And I failed.

I was blushing again and he noticed it. I shamelessly buried my face on my arms and he chuckled quietly.

A piece of paper slide through the table and I read it.

Are you blushing?

I blushed again.

A stupid fact about me was I blushed easily. I glanced at him and mouthed a 'no'.

He chuckled and gave me his million dollar smile. I rolled my eyes and boy, his smile were driving me crazy.

The bell rings loudly and I quickly gathered my stuff and walked out from the class.

I spotted Bree in the middle of the crowd with Carter and they were talking about some hilarious things, I assumed. Because they kept laughing and Carter's right hand were clutching on his stomach or shirt.

I gave them a weird look and they spotted me for a second, then continue laughing again.

"Pfttt hahaha- Jesus Christ, hahahaha-" Bree laughed again and almost spat her saliva on me.

I glared at Carter and Bree and
after they sense my glare, they stopped laughing but quickly covered their mouth with their hands and tears were flowing from their eyes.

I grow frustrated and messed my hair up and they immediately stopped laughing.

"What's so funny?" I snapped.

"Sorry." Carter said sheepishly and showed me a card with a heart on the middle of the card.

"What's this?" I asked and opened the card.

Dear, hotdog..

This is a website for you to learn; How to stop blushing.

My entire body were filled with heat and the air around here were hot enough for me to suffocate.

Bree and Carter began to laugh again and I almost smacked their mouths in order to keep them quiet.

I noticed another note in the card and I read it.

It was a picture of me when I was covered in chocolate- no, I was drenched in chocolate and I was five years old at that time.

I was very messy on the picture and my blonde hair were sticking out there and then. I almost screamed out loud and then I realized that I was in the middle of the crowd at the hallway.

I stormed off from Bree and Carter and they were still laughing. Ugh.

***

I didn't realize that school is over and footsteps were walking towards me as I stifled a yawn while my back were facing the wall on the hallway.

"Hey, wanna hang out?" Chris asked me casually.

Whatttt?

Once again, my heart were doing that weird thingy- noises and my hands were sweaty as fuck. I glanced at the clock and it strikes two-thirty.

"S-sure." Did I just stuttered? Ugh, this is embarassing.

"Let's go." he grabbed my left hand and we walked together to the parking lot. For the whole time, I was staring at our hands but immediately realize that I was staring like a creep so I flipped his hand off of me but he doesn't give any reaction of it.

We got in to the car and Chris drove us to a ice cream store, that's what he said to me.

Ten minutes later, we arrived at the ice cream store and went inside. The cool air hit on my body like a wave and I shivered slightly. I wrapped my jacket tightly, it's a good thing I brought the jacket, otherwise I would be shivering like a dog.

We went to the counter and ordered our ice creams.

The waitress was smiling too brightly at Chris and I think she was in a same age as us. The waiter handed Chris's ice cream which is plain vanilla and then she accidentally brushed her fingers on his.

I was really bothered right now and I can't restrain myself to slapped her caked-makeup face and slam-dunked her. I can't deny that Chris is attractive but this waitress is currently checking him up and down and bit her lip, hard.

Chris was wearing a white T-shirt and black jeans and even in that outfit, he looks attractive on it.

Damn it.

The waitress then handed me my ice cream which is dark chocolate and I roughly grabbed it and eat it while glaring at the waitress.

"Please come back." she said seductively and Chris nodded without looking at her. He was busying licking his ice cream and I chuckled. We sat on a booth and Chris is still focusing on his ice cream as if the ice cream is his companion right now.

I cleared my throat and that bring his attention.

"Are you ignoring me?" I asked irritated ly while my fingers were rubbing my hair.

"No.. of course not." he said. I was unsure of his words but, whatever. This boy gave me a big headache there and then.

After finishing our ice cream- well, after Chris is finishing his ice cream- I ate ice cream way too long and it seems like it's gonna melt any minute. We went outside and the cold wind brushed my body like waves.

Chris sent me home and I waved him a goodbye and flashed a grin. That seems like our tradition for this past months everytime we meet and separate.

Chris and I were still 'fake dating' since three months ago. A lot has happened at this past months. I still remember that Chris and I were always fighting and bickering whenever we meet. Good old times.

My ex-boyfriend were nowhere to be found and I assumed that he has given up on me ever since I rejected him harshly.

I don't give a damn on him though. Chris was way hotter than him- What? It was a fact. Nobody can beat his hotness but I'll just keep it in my mind since I didn't want his ego inflated.

I went upstairs and locked the door of my room. I found my blue sky hatbox and opened it slowly. The polaroids were still there and many memories held in there. Hadley died because of a motorcycle accident. She was a rebel. She liked to sneaked out but she never took drugs or alcohol so my parents let her be. One night, she drove it with her friends and crashed to a big truck. She was laughing out loud and didn't pay attention at the road. Eventually, she doesn't have enough blood and soon died in a tragic way. I missed her so much, I really do. We were very close when we were little and always shared our secrets every night in our bedroom. A tear dropped on the box and I wiped it gently then I sighed.

I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep while hugging the hatbox.
