"Oh I am going to keep my eyes on you Max," Ace said and I probably looked like a tomato. Honestly, I am not one to blush, but I just couldn't help it when Ace said that.

"Wow, I made you blush Max. But you should know that your eyes are so dazzling," Ace said and I giggled.

"You need to cut it with the compliments, Swift," I said and he laughed.

"Why should I stop when it seems like you are enjoying it?" he challenged and I rolled my eyes, "Did I just render you speechless Evans?"

"Please, I am just keeping my mouth shut so I don't bruise your ego," I denied and Ace chuckled.

"You are something Max," he said.

"I hope that something is a good thing," I said and I finally noticed how close our faces were. If I just budged a couple of inches, our lips would touch, but I didn't want to ruin what we had together. Besides, he said that he wasn't ready for a relationship, especially since we spent so much time apart from each other. I settled for wrapping my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me, and resting my head on his shoulder. I heard him breathe in sharply, but he didn't protest or say anything else after that.

"Do you want to come in?" I asked to Ace as he stood on the doorstep of my temporary safe house.

"Yeah, if that's fine," he said shyly digging his hands into his front pocket.

"You can meet John," I said opening the door and tossing my keys on the counter, "Hey J! Come out for a second." John emerged from his bedroom and smiled at me.

"Ace, this is my partner John Walter, and John this is my friend Ace Swift."

"This is the Ace you have been telling me about all these years," John said coming closer to shake Ace's hand.

"You have been talking about me?" Ace asked raising his eyebrow.

"Yeah I did, but maybe some of them aren't good things," I said crossing my arms and Ace rolled his eyes.

"So you are the one that recruited Max," Ace said leaning against the counter.

"Yeah, I saw potential in her, but I wasn't the only one. The Director wanted to recruit Max as well," John replied casually.

"Well she seems happy with her career choice, so I am happy for her," Ace said and I gawked at Ace's answer. He seemed so calm about it, even though he basically blew up at me before about the whole misunderstanding with John.

"Yeah, she was kind of suspicious of me when we first met," John said and Ace tilted his head in surprise.

"What do you mean by that?" Ace asked.

"Well she was sitting in the park alone and I came over to talk to her. She said that she was facing a lot of problems and I blurted out 'Was it street fighting?' I literally had to show her my FBI badge, in case she like beat me up or something," John said chuckling lightly.

"Excuse me for thinking that you were a stalker. Not a lot of people know that I street fight or used to street fight," I said and Ace chuckled.

"Your reaction was probably priceless though," Ace said and John agreed.

"So what do you work as?" John asked.

"I am a mechanic at Ty's repair shop---the place that Max always go to," Ace said and I nodded.

"That was the reason why I ran into Ace," I added on and John chuckled.

"You seemed so stressed out about how you ran into Ace-," John said before I raised my hand to shush him.

"He does not need to know," I said quickly.

"I will tell you later," John whispered to Ace and I pushed John lightly, then my phone rang. I walked into my bedroom when I saw that it was from my father.

"Father?" I asked.

"Maxine, you need to come down to the warehouse," he said quickly and I was a bit suspicious.

"Why?" I responded.

"We have a shipment coming in tonight and I want you to supervise it, nothing extreme, just watching people carry the cargo," Father said and I chewed on my bottom lip.

"Alright, I will be there," I said and sighed. I walked out of my room and took a deep breath.

"What's up?" John asked worriedly. I knew that he understood my facial expression.

"Duty calls. I am sorry to cut the night short Ace, but I have to get to work," I said with a weak smile.

"Totally fine, I understand. You have to go and make the world a better place," Ace said waving me off, "I will see you tomorrow?"

"See you tomorrow," I said smiling at him and John chuckled.

"You are blushing, Max. But I cannot get distracted, who was on the call?" John asked.

"My father, he wants me to supervise a shipment of cargo. I have to do it so show that I am 'loyal' to the Vipers," I said while making quotes with my fingers.

"That makes sense, be careful alright?" John said and I nodded slowly, "Make sure you have your earpiece, tracker, and weapons."

"I know J, I did go through training," I said and John scoffed.

"Yeah, 2 years less than me," he said and I rolled my eyes.

"Bye John," I said walking out the doorway.

"Bye Max!" John called out from the doorway. I had a gut feeling that something was going to happen tonight and it won't be good.

As I jumped off my motorcycle, I caught the attention of some gang members walking out of the warehouse. I took off my helmet and shook my hair back into place.

"You must be the leader's daughter," one of the men said and I crossed my arms.

"Who is asking this?" I asked challenging him.

"Viper Gang member," the man answered gesturing to the other man as well.

"Alright, well I have a meeting to get to," I said walking into the door. I went into the direction of my father's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in," my father shouted. I walked in and saw a gun pointed to his head and the man who was holding the gun smirked. Another guy grabbed my arms and pulled them behind me.

"Maxine Evans, nice to see you," the man said and I rolled my eyes. Of course this was a trap. The man threw me to the ground and I groaned when my head hit the wooden floors.

"We will be back," the man said and left. I frantically took out my phone and texted John the situation before another guy grabbed the phone from my hands.

"You do not need that," he said and I kicked him in the shins.

"Give that back to me!" I shouted at him and he kicked me back into the stomach.

"Boss wouldn't be happy if I did that," he said before walking out the door.

Guest – John's POV:

Ace actually stayed at the safe house and we talked for a while. He was pretty cool and it was easy to talk to him about racing and things like that.

"So, you said that you would tell me about how Max was stressed when she ran into me," Ace started and I laughed.

"Yeah, I guess she felt awkward and surprised that she ran into you at Ty's. Take this from me Ace, but I think you should try to work things out with her again," I said and Ace furrowed his eyebrows.

"Like try to be in a relationship again?" Ace asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, I know that she still has feelings for you, but you shouldn't wait around for her to make the move. Being an FBI agent is very risky and unexpected, so you should do it before something happens," I said and looked at Ace's worried expression, "I am not trying to scare you Ace; I am just trying to tell you the truth. I am rooting for you two."

"How do you know that Max still has feelings for me?" he asked and I sighed.

"Well she still keeps pictures of you two around her room in D.C. and she hasn't been in a relationship or had any contact with guys ever since I recruited her," I said and Ace nodded, "And what I mean is that she hasn't shown any kind of affection for another guy."

"I will, I am not losing her again. Even though I am still kind of mad that she left me, but now I know that she had good intentions," Ace said and ran his fingers through his hair, "I totally blew up on her when I assumed that she was doing something else."

"Hey man, we all make mistakes. It is a humane thing to do when you are in a situation where you don't know a lot." I replied when my phone beeped. I looked and saw a text from Max.

Max: Help, meeting was a trap.

"Shoot," I said and cursed under my breath.

"What's wrong?" Ace asked.

"I need to go help Max," I said and started to put on my leather jacket.

"Let me go with you," he said and I shook my head.

"It is strictly FBI business," I said and Ace scoffed.

"Well Max is my business. Let me come with you," he said and I sighed.

"Fine, I will fill you in on the details on the way to HQ," I said and jumped into the car with Ace hopping into the passenger's seat.

"So basically, the reason why we are back in New York is to take down the Viper Gang. Max joined the Viper Gang hoping that she could gather some information and take them down from the inside," I said.

"What?" Ace shouted and I jumped from his sudden outburst.

"Well then you need me there John, I have been in their warehouse before. I know where most things are," Ace said and I nodded.

"I am hoping that the team back at base will be okay with you helping."

This is a long needed update on Endless Fighting. I apologize for not updating for the last couple weeks. I have been behind on writing, but hopefully I can get back on track. I was suffering from some writer's block, but now I am motivated to finish the story. I will probably publish the first chapter of Beauty in Disguise soon. If you guys didn't know, I changed Dylan Jennings to Phoebe Tonkin because I felt that she fit the role better. I also changed Will Kingsford to Robbie Amell. Anyways, remember to...
