Ace's Point of View:

"Ready for the race man?" Martin asked as I was putting on my leather jacket. Martin Giovanni is my best friend and he is pretty good at getting me races. When I race, I am known as Shadow because of my dark hair and dark clothes. This is just a wild guess, though.

"Yep, thanks for getting me in this one on short notice," I said as I put on my motorcycle helmet.

"I heard that Stone Fox entered in this race," Martin said and my eyes widened.

"Stone Fox? No way, after four years?" I asked incredulously and Martin nodded.

"I am guessing that she is back in town trying to get the fastest racer title again," Martin said and I scoffed.

"No way is she taking that title from me Martin," I said while sitting on my motorcycle. I heard the distant cheers from the crowd, as I was getting ready in an alley.

"Yeah man, but she had the title before she was gone for four years. They gave the title to you because she was MIA for so long and you were the second fastest racer," Martin said and I nodded.

"Alright, got to go," I said revving my motorcycle and driving to the start line. I recognized the driver next to me as the one and only Stone Fox. She had a fox on the back of her leather jacket and I recognized her signature white motorcycle. Honestly, her bike is sick and her jacket is probably custom made. I wonder who she got it from because the person who created her jacket must know her identity.

"You are going to be experiencing a good race today. We have Shadow, our fastest racer, against Stone Fox! Yes you heard it, our undefeated racer is back in town," the announcer boomed, "Will one of them win the race or will another one of our racers win?" the announcer said and I guess Martin heard correct.

Soon the flag was dropped and I immediately put my speed on max, but I was still behind Stone Fox. I pushed onto the gas pedal harder and was almost getting close to her. I tried to catch up with her at every turn, but she kept her speed and was able to stay in front of me. As I cranked up my engine, I saw that the other racers were a long way behind us. That is when I realized that this race was going to be between the two of us. People were cheering 'Shadow', but more were cheering 'Stone Fox' which made me roll my eyes. Since I was watching the crowd, I lost focus and saw Stone Fox turn back to glance at me and shot across the finish line.

"And our undefeated racer stays undefeated! Stone Fox is the winner!" the announcer said. I drove up to where she was when I saw her mask. I took off my helmet and looked at her.

"How are you so fast? I can't believe that I lost to a girl," I asked stunned.

"Maybe you just have to improve your game," she said simply before driving away. I was surprised at how confident she sounded when she talked to me. Soon, I drove home where I met Martin.

"Dude, I can't believe that you lost your title to a girl," Martin said and I scowled.

"Well originally I didn't get that title by beating her in the first place," I muttered, "-but yes, stop stating the obvious."

"You technically got the title by racing other people because she was absent for a while," Martin said, "-but no offense Ace...I was rooting for Stone Fox because I knew she was going to win."

"Whatever," I said and stormed into the house.

"Hey Ace, so your brother's friend is coming over today so I need you not to make so much noise because I don't want to scare them away," Mom said the next day. Jean Swift is my mom. She is amazing and she works hard to take care of my brother and I.

"Hey Ace," Jayden said as he sat next to me, "My new best friend is coming over. Her name is Macy."

"Cool," I said and Mom frowned at me.

"You are being awfully quiet today, what happened?" Mom asked.

"Did you lose a race?" Jayden asked and Mom dropped her spoon.

"Did you really lose a race hun?" Mom asked and I scowled. Mom and Jayden are aware that I race almost every night. I know what you think, but Mom said as long I am not involved in any gang activity or getting others slash myself hurt, she is fine.

"Yes to Stone Fox, the previous fastest racer before she went AWOL for the last four years," I grumbled.

"Well honey you know how fast Stone Fox is, she has never lost a race," Mom explained.

"Not making me feel better mom," I said and she laughed.

"Well just work harder sweetheart," Mom said in her calm tone and I stood up.

"Martin is helping me fix my motorcycle," I announced before retreating to the garage.

"Hey Ace," Martin said driving his motorcycle into the garage.

"Hey man," I said taking out a rag to wipe off my motorcycle. Martin did the same.

"Someone did not wake up happy," Martin mumbled.

"Well...Jay guessed that I lost a race so my Mom knows that I lost to a girl," I said and Martin chuckled.

"Well Jay is good at reading human expressions," Martin said, "-and he is pretty smart too."

"Okay jeez! I know I am not that smart alright?" I asked and Martin guffawed.

"You need to get a job," Martin said, "You studied mechanics so find a shop where you could work."

"I will work when I need to, right now I still earn money off of races, just not as much anymore," I said and Martin laughed.

"Yeah because the first place prize money went off to someone else," Martin reminded.

"Shut it before you lose it," I threatened and that just made Martin laugh even more.

"You are just mad that I am right," Martin said before I heard faint music and singing that caused my head to snap up. There I saw a white convertible Lamborghini pull up in my driveway and I could tell that the faint singing and music came from them. Both of our mouths dropped when two stunning girls stepped out. The brunette helped a little girl out of the car and they walked towards the steps. The little girl's eyes wandered around and when she saw us, she waved with a big smile.

"Hi! My sister has a motorcycle like yours too!" the girl exclaimed and I heard the blonde chuckle as she made her way around the car. Martin immediately waved back and gave the little girl a big smile.

"Let's go," I heard the brunette say, "Jayden is waiting for you." Then, all three of them walked up  the steps.

"Who are those girls? Because I have never seen them here before," I asked myself out loud.

"I haven't either," Martin said and his eyes trailed over to the car, "Sick ride. That must have cost a fortune."

"You should know, you are the one with the rich parents," I said and rolled my eyes.

Simultaneously, I walked over to the end of the garage and tried to listen to their conversation, but I couldn't make out any words.

"Why don't you get closer?" Martin whisper yelled at me and I groaned.

"I don't want them to know that I am eavesdropping. If you want to get closer, be my guest," I snapped and Martin rolled his eyes. Soon the girl with the blonde hair made her way down the steps and straight back to the car. I was able to take a closer look at her and saw how gorgeous she was. But even from afar, the brunette had caught my attention. After a while of Martin muttering things to himself, the brunette walked down the steps and that's when I went to talk to her.

"What is a pretty girl like you doing here?" I flirted, "I'm Ace." She had a hidden smirk on her face, but then turned to her car. I saw her exchange a couple of looks with the blonde before she turned back to me.

"And what is your name?" Martin shouted at the blonde in the car. I think I saw her roll her eyes and chuckle.

"Not relevant," the blonde sassed before crossing her arms.

"And I am late, well we are late," she said once she turned back to me and sat down in the driver's seat, "I would love to stay and talk, but I think that you already know why we are here."

"How do you know that we know?" Martin shouted back.

"Just a hunch," the brunette smirked, then she winked at me leaving Martin and I speechless. Right after, she pulled out of the driveway and I saw the blonde throw back her head in laughter.

"Seriously dude, who are they?" Martin asked.

"I don't know, but I think Jayden might," I wondered going to the garage door.

"By the way, I call the blonde," Martin said and I chuckled.

"Fine with me," I said before opening the door and walking to Jayden's room. Martin followed behind me and I walked in seeing my brother playing with a girl that looked similar to the brunette that dropped her off. My guess is that they are sisters.

"Ace, this is my friend Macy," Jayden introduced, "Macy, this is my brother Ace and his best friend Martin.

"Hi again!" Macy said sweetly and Martin waved at her.

"So who dropped you off?" I asked curiously.

"My sister did," Macy replied, "And my sister's best friend."

"Which one is your sister?" Martin asked curiously. Jayden gave me a 'what are you doing' look.

"The one in the gold and black outfit, her name is Max," Macy answered happily and I nodded. Martin mouthed 'hot name' at me and I chuckled.

"How about the blonde," Martin tried to ask slyly.

"Her name is Alex," Macy answered with no suspicion. She clearly was proud to show them off as her sister and her sister's best friend.

"What do you even care Ace?" Jayden asked his arms crossed.

"Just curious because she has a cool car," I lied.

"Who? My sister?" Macy asked and I nodded, "That's true."

"Can you leave now? Macy and I are trying to play a game," Jayden wailed impatiently and Martin and I left his room.

"Max is a hot name," Martin said, "And Alex."

"Totally," I said.

"What are you boys doing?" Mom asked as she passed us in the hallway.

"Nothing," Martin said guiltily and I sighed.

"Do you know why I love Martin? Because whenever you guys do something, he shows signs of it," Mom said and I laughed.

"Dude, she is saying that you can't lie," I joked and Mom glared at me.

"Don't be messing with your brother and Macy," Mom said sternly, "but I am guessing that you already did."

"Technically we didn't mess with him. We just asked Macy some questions to get to know her," I said truthfully. I mean, we did ask her some questions.

"Is that entirely true?" Mom asked Martin and he let out a high-pitched 'yes'. I slapped my forehead and Mom cracked up.

"Boys," she said holding a basket of laundry, "Always getting into trouble. Sometimes it makes me wish I had daughters instead of sons."

"Hey Mom, that is hurtful," I said holding my hand across my heart.

"Aw poor thing," Mom said faking tears, "Anyways I am making dinner so come out and eat. You can finish fixing your motorcycles later."

"Ooh! Dinner! I am in," Martin exclaimed excitedly while following my mom.

"Call Jayden and Macy for me will you Ace?" Mom asked and I went into Jayden's room.

"Mom said for you and Macy to come out for dinner," I said and Jayden shouted 'yes'.

"My mom is making mac and cheese, my favorite!" Jayden exclaimed.

"Me too! Max always cooks me mac and cheese, she is a great cook," Macy gushed before she went to the dining room. Wow, a girl that can also cook. I went to the dining table and sat down before mom put a huge plate of steaming mac and cheese in front of me. Jayden, Martin, and Macy were already eating there's.

"Get more if you want to because we have plenty," Mom said before eating hers.

"Wow this is great mac and cheese Ms. Swift," Macy said and my mom chuckled.

"Thank you Macy, so who usually cooks for you at your house?" Mom asked.

"Max does because my mom sometimes works long hours at the hospital," Macy replied.

"Oh well you have a very great sister," Mom said and Macy nodded happily, "So I talked to your sister for a little bit. She seems really nice."

"Yeah she is," Jayden piped in, "She has a cool name. Can I be called Jay? Since she told me that her full name is Maxine, but people call her Max?"

"Sure son," Mom said, "I like nicknames, I think they are fun."

"Ooh! We can call Macy, Mace and Martin can be Marty!" Jayden said and Macy agreed.

"Sounds good," Mom said.

"Except Ace can't have a nickname because you can't shorten Ace," Jayden said snickering.

"I like my name the way it is anyways; I don't need a nickname," I said and Martin chuckled.

"You keep on telling yourself that," Martin teased.

"Shut up dude," I snapped and Mom glared at me.

"We have children at the table Ace Demetrius Swift; you are lucky that I made Demetrius your middle name rather than your first name," Mom said sternly and Martin burst out laughing.

"I can't believe that Demetrius is your middle name," Martin said between laughs.

"My full name is Jayden Benjamin Swift," Jayden announced proudly.

"Oh...well my name is just Macy Evans because my mom didn't exactly do middle names," Macy admitted.

"Well some people don't have middle names, its nothing to be ashamed of," Mom said to Macy and she smiled. So we continued to eat dinner and I found that Macy was a nice kid. No wonder my brother likes her. There was a conversation going, but I guess I zoned out thinking about Max.
