My soulmates tried to make Saturday as easy going as possible. They all knew how stressed I was for this last family meeting, and they were trying to make me loosen up and have fun, which of course I did. We played board games, watched movies, and of course took advantage of the pool and hot tub outside. Had I visited the hot tub last I probably wouldn't have been as nervous when I finally decided to lay down for the night.

I just couldn't sleep due to the amount of anxiousness coursing through me. So, I got up in the middle of the night and decided that perhaps taking a bath might relax me, much like the hot tub did. I considered using the jets in the tub also, but I decided to add bubble bath to the water instead. When I first moved in after seeing the tub I had googled if I could use bubble bath in a tub with jacuzzi jets, and I realized that with the amount of bubbles I tend to add I would have probably filled the whole bathroom with bubbles. Apparently the jets somehow would just keep creating more bubbles. I didn't dig far enough into the article to understand why the contraptions worked that way. I just decided if I didn't want an old sitcom comedy scene on my hands that I should just completely bypass the bubbles if I wanted to use the jets.

Since I couldn't sleep I had set my alarm and now that it's going off a few feet from me I honestly just want to dive back under the covers and sleep a few more hours. I choose against that though when I remember how Jin told me his family tends to be punctual if not early.

When I walk into the bathroom I frown at my reflection in the mirror. My hair is literally the extreme definition of bed head. I'm honestly terrified to try to run a brush through it with the amount of tangles I predict are knotting in the back. I can only conclude that even though I fell immediately asleep after my bath last night that I must have still tossed and turned rather crazy. After brushing my teeth I don't even hesitate on my decision to go ahead and take a shower. Normally I would probably debate with myself if I should make breakfast first, but my crazy messy locks took that decision away from me this morning.

After I get out of the shower I ponder over the outfit I chose to wear once again. Because I knew both Jin's father and his elder brother were office employees for some big time company I almost expected them to show up in suits. If not that then perhaps button down shirts and sweaters or sweater vests plus khakis. So, because of that I chose to wear a navy floral chiffon skirt paired with a sweater that was a shade close to the lightest blue of the print.

I took my time with my makeup and hair this morning. I felt like making a good impression on Jin's family was a must. I was of course worried about doing the same with Yoongi's family, but for some reason the idea of Jin's definitely intimidated me quite a bit more. Perhaps because at heart I am just a simple girl who grew up living a rural life. I might have lived in the big city of Chicago, but that didn't mean that rural life was taken out of me. If anything it was deeply ingrained in my soul. After all, the only thing I really did while living in Chicago outside of work was stay at home.

I knew we would be cooking lunch today, so perhaps wearing this outfit was a bad idea. However, that's why I invested in a few full body aprons. So, I would keep myself from making a mess out of my outfits.

I'm really not surprised to find most everyone downstairs already. Tannie pads over to me and begs me for love, so regardless of potential dog hair on my sweater I pick him up and hold him close. I'm unsurprised to find the guys have ordered kkwabaegi. They introduced them to me on a Saturday not too long ago. They are honestly flavor and texture wise quite similar to the cinnamon and sugar twist donuts I rarely indulged in when I lived in Chicago. They also make me crave elephant ears again, but I don't tell my soulmates that. I don't want them getting upset thinking that their kind thought in getting us breakfast might have backfired somehow.

I put Tannie down when I get to the kitchen counter. I wash my hands at the sink before grabbing one of the donuts for myself. "Whose idea was this?"

"We all considered something simple for breakfast this morning. Jimin was the one that suggested kkwabaegi specifically." Namjoon explains to me.

I look over at Jimin and smile. Now, I understand that I don't have to be concerned about how the treats reminded me of elephant ears. He had actually considered that when he settled on kkwabaegi, since our first date was the last time I mentioned elephant ears.

All my soulmates continuously trail their eyes over me from head to toe. Each of them giving my outfit appreciative glances. Of course each of their opinions matter, but it's Jin's I am most curious about. Once we are done eating he pulls me aside.

"Princess, you really didn't have to dress up for them like this." He sighs worried that his words might hurt me in some way.

I smile up at him and step out from behind the kitchen island. "Jin, I don't have a problem dressing more femininely and wearing a skirt or dress once in a while. Honestly, I kind of like having the excuse."

I don't notice Yoongi sidling up behind me until his arms wrap around my waist and he pulls me close to him. "Honey, whenever you want to wear a skirt feel free. I know with certainty that you won't hear a single complaint from any of us."

That comment has me glancing at each of their faces in turn. Most are nodding their head in agreement but there are also some not so innocent, appreciative gazes swiping over the sheer nylon fabric covering my legs. Namjoon, Hobi, and Jimin all struggle to make a conscious effort to look away, and while this is the worst timing for me to become overheated from simply their eyes flicking over me that doesn't stop my hormones from going haywire. I can feel the blush climbing up my neck and when Yoongi chuckles into the back of my neck and presses a small peck there I know he noticed my body's reaction.

Unfortunately for me my skin is still flushed when I hear the chime go off in the house announcing someone's arrival. Jin makes a noise colored by his annoyance. "I told them to plan on being here at ten at the earliest."

I glance at the clock and see it is only 9:30 now. He definitely wasn't wrong about his family showing up punctually if not early. Although, there is still the slim possibility that it might be Yoongi's family instead. Somehow, I doubt that though. When Jin goes to the security camera I can immediately confirm that his suspicions were right by the honorifics he greets his family with.

I guess that means it's showtime.

Yoongi, who has pulled slightly away yet still remains by my side, kisses the other side of my neck and whispers. "Don't worry. You got this, Honey."

Jin escorts his family in, and I am immediately surprised by a fourth person. I only expected his parents and elder brother, but the young woman standing by his side must be his soulmate with the way she can't seem to tear her eyes off him. This almost must be recent with the surprising amount of affection she isn't afraid to show. Like me she is also caucasian which makes me wonder how the two of them were able to meet.

Jin stumbles with his introductions, probably also thrown by the new face. "Daisy, I'd like you to meet my father, Youngho. My mother, Soonja. And of course my brother, Seokjung."

He gives his brother a look filled with curiosity, but his brother only grins and somehow I can read how his expression is simply saying. 'All in good time. I'll introduce her, just let's get this part out of the way first.'

So, I take that as my cue to introduce myself the way I have practiced. "Annyeong Haseyo. Bangapsumnida. Jal Butakdeurimnida."

Soonja sweeps in and I am immediately surprised by her immaculate English. "You're family now. Of course, we will look after you my dear." She glances at her husband, but I can tell he is going to be a tougher nut to crack as I can easily see the stiffness in his shoulders.

That's when I noticed that I was right in predicting what they might wear today. Jin's father, Youngho, is wearing a full suit. His elder brother looks a bit more relaxed in a sweater and button down that is open at the collar. His mother also chose to wear a flowing chiffon skirt and short sleeved blouse.

When her husband makes no move to come closer she sighs out her exasperation with him. Shakes her head and gives me a look that I read as an apology before patting my shoulder and moving away.

That's when Jin's brother moves in to talk to the two of us. "Sorry, I know this was a surprise, but I found it difficult to tell you over the phone or video call that I had found my soulmate a couple of weeks ago." He takes a moment to nod and smile at me before he wraps an arm around the brunette caucasian. "This is my soulmate, Jasmine."

Suddenly I'm engulfed in a surprising hug. "I think you are the first American I have met since I moved here a week ago."

"A week ago? I'm sorry but didn't Seokjung just say that he found you at least a couple weeks ago?" I ask in confusion.

"Oh, that's because of the new database that the nations have been workin' on." Jasmine's voice has a slight southern accent to it, but I can't quite place it. Not to mention it's exceptionally subtle so she has probably lived in the northern part of the states for awhile now and her accent has started to gradually disappear.

"New database?" I arch my eyebrows in surprised confusion.

"Oh? You haven't heard? Every nation had this huge meetin' and decided to start compilin' a database of soulmate marks attached to each person's name. I don't understand completely how it works, but it had no problem matching up SJ and me."

Seokjung, shakes his head. "It's fairly new, and they are charging the same amount for males to put their name in those databases as they did for the serum injection itself."

"Yeah, but females get a discount." Jasmine grins in victory. Then she frowns. "I'm really not sure why that is though."

I'm kind of confused by that strange logic also. Why would the nations make it cheaper for females? I'm still pondering over it a few moments later when the chime goes off in the house again.

Yoongi comes up to me and grabs my hand before he answers the security system alert. Sang Hee, one of the security guards that happened to be protecting us on my date with Jimin and Jin smiles at the two of us before stepping aside so we can see his family.

Yoongi greets them warmly but honorably. I immediately notice how much respect he has for his family. It reminds me of a video I saw of him doing a full big bow, or keunjeol, when he was surprised to see them there. I remember how he cried during that moment and my sweet Jimin was right there by his side to console him. I haven't seen him cry yet since we have been together, but I do know that the moment he sheds a tear I will be right there beside him probably crying even harder than he is.

Yoongi happily introduces me to his family. His father Kwangsu. His mother Jungsoon. And his elder brother Geumjae.

Before his parents can greet me his brother bows and apologizes to me. He speaks rapid Korean, and I can barely follow what he is saying. Luckily, I am supposed to be pretending I still no longer understand so Yoongi translates. "He apologizes that his soulmate isn't here with him. She is resting in the hospital." Yoongi's explanation catches up with him.

"Wait. She's in the hospital? Why?!?!"

Once again Geumjae explains in rapid Korean what is going on and Yoongi is left stunned. It's Jin, who is still standing nearby, that comes to my rescue. "Apparently, in six months or so, Yoongi will be becoming an uncle. Unfortunately, Geumjae's soulmate, Aecha, is experiencing severe morning sickness. The doctor has her on an I.V. to make sure she stays hydrated. Her nurse is also trying to help out with some homeopathic procedures. They are hoping that reducing her stress might help her appetite."

I turn to Geumjae and even though I am not supposed to know the Korean word for congratulations I can't help but smile and say, "chukahamnida."

Yoongi finally regains some of his composure. "Shouldn't you be with your soulmate while she is in the hospital?"

He sighs and quickly explains. Once again I am not able to follow all of his words, but he is more or less saying that she basically told him to go and meet his new sister-in-law. If he stayed and missed out on the opportunity she would never forgive him. Somehow, I feel like I am going to like Aecha already.

The rest of the morning runs pretty smoothly. I'm still getting the impression that either Jin's father doesn't like me or perhaps he is simply unsure of me. But everyone else is really jovial and pleasant. I wasn't completely certain how meeting Yoongi's family was going to be since I knew in the past that they hadn't originally supported his career choice. But, I can see that this is definitely no longer the case. I imagine the turning point was around that concert they made an appearance at.

When Youngho discovers that we are making lunch he immediately seems curious. His mouth practically waters when Yoongi grabs a container of marinating steaks and lobster tails that he plans on splitting and heating on the grill. Jin and I start preparing some of the side dishes in the kitchen, and I ignore the fact that Youngho is tracing my every move. We first focus on the roasted vegetable medley that I decided to make for everyone. We work side by side peeling carrots and parsnips. Then cutting them to appropriate lengths. Then we slice up celery, potatoes, and onion to cook along with it. It may be more of a western cuisine but I personally don't like braising as much food as some of their meals call for. I put all that in a roasting bag with some olive oil and garlic salt. The oven has already been preheated so I set it in the oven right away. I grab my phone and start a timer for thirty minutes, hoping that the vegetables will be out about the same time that the meat is ready.

After that Jin pulls out a few mu radishes. I learned really quickly that mu and daikon are not the same although they look somewhat similar. Mu is much shorter and rounder than daikon though. It also is texturally denser than daikon and supposedly has a stronger flavor. Jin starts cleaning them and preps to julienne them since he is a touch more skilled at the cut than I am. While he is working on that I mince a small amount of garlic and grate some ginger. He's still working on the radish so after that I chop a couple scallions for the dish. Once he is done with the radish he adds some salt to it to take away some of the water content.

After about five minutes I add the ingredients to a mixing bowl along with gochugaru, fish sauce, a tsp of sugar, and sesame seeds. I toss it altogether and that's when Youngho comes up to peer at the dish. "I wasn't sure you could handle Korean dishes." He openly admits. "You could have made it easier on yourself and simply served kimchi instead."

"Regarding Korean cooking, honestly I'm still learning and I openly admit there are some cooking practices that I will always prefer a more western style. However, the reason I chose to do musaengchae instead of kimchi is because honestly I personally like the fresh flavor a touch better. That doesn't mean I don't like
