Belle's POV :

The shrill sound of Janice's laugh resounded in my dorm room. Oh shit ! I gasped awake.

Damn ! Damn! Damn! I shouldn't have let Hector change my alarm tone !!

That sorry excuse for a laugh is not something anyone would want to wake up to. Trying to calm down my heartbeat, I sat up. The time was 6:40 am. I sighed. I was awake till 3 am last night for an upcoming assignment. I looked at my left to see my room mate's bed empty.

Must be at her boyfriend's.

Dragging myself up from the bed, I went to my bathroom to take a quick shower. Coming out with a record time, I opened my closet to grab the first item I could find. A pair of skinny jeans and a gray sweatshirt. Dressing myself, I stared at the mirror. The girl staring back at me had cold gray eyes. There were bags under her eyes from loss of sleep, hollow cheeks and black, almost blue messy hair. With another sigh, I grabbed a comb and stared to tame my waist length hair. Not feeling creative enough, I put it up in a messy bun. A quick glance at the clock told me it was 7:30, meaning I had another half hour to have breakfast and attend my first lecture. Feeling accomplished at being ready in time, I grabbed my bag and left the dorm room.

After studying hard and working my ass off, I got in my dream college to pursue my dream career, being an author. The weather suited my tastes today, with a slight chill in the air and dry leaves covering my path. The sound of birds chirping had a calming effect on me. The sky was a bit cloudy, just the way I liked it. Feeling my spirits uplifted, I went to Satiete , a small cafe with a 5 mins walk from the campus. I was smiling when I reached the cafe. The smell of coffee hit me as soon as I opened the door.

Nothing wakes up a person better than caffeine.

Glancing around, almost all the seats were taken, some of them being college students trying to cure their hangover, some being businessmen in their impeccable suits having their morning coffee. Luckily, I found a seat just besides a window. As soon as I seated myself, a waitress came up to me, " Diane", her name tag spelled.

"Good morning , what can I get you?", she asked with a smile.

"Um, a plate of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a coffee, with one milk and one sugar, please".

"Coming right up."

As soon as she left, I looked outside the window. The sky was dotted with gray clouds here and there, giving me a sense of peace. Since I was a child, I always liked looking at the sky, clouds to be precise. They were too unique to be ignored, with their various shapes, looking like fluffy cotton candy, and how they could always turn my frown upside down. Today, I saw them in the shape of a horse with wings.

Diane came back with a tray full of mouthwatering food." Here's your order, miss..?"

" Belle, my name's Belle", I replied with a smile.

"Hi,Belle, here's your food, enjoy it".

Placing the food on the table, the waitress left. Hearing the loud growl of my stomach, I quickly dug in my food. The pancakes were fluffy and the perfect colour, which I covered with maple syrup. I looked around the cafe, enjoying my breakfast. There were a lot of people in business suits today, an unusual site for a college campus area. My gaze wandered towards the person sitting on the table diagonally to me, reading his newspaper, his gaze darting everywhere. His right feet was tapping on the floor in nervousness, the coffee he had ordered long forgotten. The suit he wore couldn't hide the fear he was experiencing. Either he met someone scary, or he was about to. The bell at the cafe's door chimed, indicating someone entered. Both me, and the nervous guy, glanced at the door. Entering the cafe, was a man. Dressed impeccably in a dark navy suit, he had the perfect look of a businessman. A 6'1 height with a well muscled body, he carried himself with a grace. His blond hair was tousled by the wind. He was good looking, with his high cheekbones, an aristocratic nose and icy blue eyes, which were currently trailed on me.

Uh oh.

Feeling ashamed that I was gawking at him, I turned to my breakfast. Before looking away, I saw surprise and confusion flicker in his eyes, which turned to annoyance when I heard someone call him " Sir!".

The nervous man raised his hand, as if indicating his location. The handsome guy went to join him at his table. Having finished my breakfast, I quickly paid for my breakfast and left the diner. Feeling eyes on me , I turned back to see the handsome dude staring at me with a thoughtful look in his eyes. Weird, I thought to myself and left.
