Over the next few months, Hermione and I joined the Order of The Phoenix.

As the days went on, the thought of Draco was still on my mind.

His constant letters didn't help.

They tore me apart from the inside out.

Every one he sent, was sadder than the last.

The type of sad that made your soul ache.

"Please, write back soon."

"I miss us. I want to hear from you."

"I miss your voice, I miss your smile, I miss your sunshine."

"Why are you ignoring me? I just want to hear from you."

"Please, please, just talk to me.  I'm begging you."

"I hope I'm not as forgettable as your silence is making me feel."

The worst one, was the one from the night we were getting ready to get Harry.

We had our things packed in Hermione's bag.

The only thing I kept on my person, was my wand, cigarettes, and my Peruvian Instant Darkness Power.

Draco's owl dropped a small envelope on the windowsill, before flying off into the night.

Hermione opened the window, and collected it.

I turned my head away from her.

"Let's read it together." Hermione reassured me.

I gave her a nod.

She opened the envelope, and pulled the paper out.

I stepped next to her, as she unfolded it.

We both began reading.

Dear Courtney,

I don't know what I have done to cause you not to speak to me.   I wish you would give me a reason.

I just want to hear your voice.

I want to see your kind eyes sparkle like the emeralds they are.

I must have done something utterly terrible for you to want to push me a way like this, and for that I am sorry.

The muggles talk about this place called heaven, which is filled with angels.
I didnt believe it, until I saw you.

Because you are my heaven on Earth, you are sent from above.

And for that I know, that I have met an angel in person.

This is my last letter to you, because it is unsafe for me to write to you any more.

And with that said, I would like to give you a message.

Don't forget about our promise that is held on to us, by that small piece of metal around our fingers.

I still stand by it, and I hope you do too.

In addition to that, I will continue to do everything I can to protect you.

I will do anything to keep you alive, even if that means I die trying.

This is goodbye for now.

I hope I see you again, my love.

-Draco Malfoy

Tears fell down my face, as I read through the note.

"You love him, don't you?" Hermione softly asked.

Before I could reply, the clock struck 10 pm.

"They are gonna be here any minute!" I told Hermione.

"Let's go do it quick." She folded up the paper, and stuck it in her bad.

We creapt down the stairs, and to her parents room.

They were peacefully sleeping.

We pulled out our wands.

"Ready?" I whispered to Hermione.

She swallowed hard, and shook her head yes.

We casted obliviate at them, wiping their memories of us.

It was for the best.

We quietly went back up to Hermione's room.

We waited silently for Fred and George to appear at the window.

"Hello, ladies." They said simultaneously as they winked.

Fred took me by the hand, and helped me on the back of his broom.

George did the same with Hermione.

"Hold on tight, I can be a wild ride." Fred told me.

I wrapped my arms around him tightly.

"Take it easy... alright?" I nervous spoke.

Fred looked at George, then back at me smirking.

"Never." They both said, before taking off.

We picked Harry up from his house. Half of us drank polyjuice to look like Harry, so if we were attacked there was a lesser chance of Harry being killed.

We were attacked by the deatheaters.

Moody was killed, George was hit but alive.

We all settled in for the night.

I laid awake for a whole, before hearing creaking footsteps going down the stairs.

I got up quietly, grabbing a cigarette on my way out.

I followed the footsteps out of the house.

It was Harry, with his bag all packed.

He was trying to leave.

I walked quickly to catch up to him.

I stopped a few feet behind him.

"Going for a late night walk, are we?" My voice broke the silence.

Harry stopped in his tracks, huffed loudly, before turning around.

I put the cigarette too my lips, and lit it with my wand.

"I can't have anyone else die because of me.  I'm just gonna leave and deal with it on my own." Harry replied.

I took a long drag before I spoke.

"I hate to tell you this, Harry," the cigarette dangled between my lips as I spoke, "but this has grown much bigger than you.   You've still got a trace.  You leave here, and you would be dead in minutes."

"Come with me, then." Harry said desperately.

"Yeah, and have Ron freak out that I left with his best friend... and didn't tell anyone." I rolled my eyes.

"Go get Ron, he can come too."

"You're mad, you know we wouldn't last a week out there without Hermione. And what about the wedding?"

Harry looked around him as he thought, before walking back towards me.

I smiled greatly, putting my arm around his shoulder.

"They picked a hell of a time to get married." Harry chuckled, as we walked back to the house.

"Maybe that's why they picked it? To give everyone a break from reality." I smiled at him, taking a puff from my cigarette.

"Those things still reek like goblin piss." Harry took the remader of the cigarette from my lips.

He dropped it to the ground, and stepped it out.

"They taste like it too." I laughed.
