I woke up early in the morning.

I had to slither out from Draco's grip.

Draco didn't move a muscle, as I left his room and returned to the Gryffindor hall.

Did I just.... with Draco?

I was supposed to be ignoring him!

I was supposed to hate him.

I let Draco back in... after he betrayed me... after his father almost killed me, and my friends.

I hated myself for not being able to resist Draco.

I hated myself for letting him back in.

The next morning everyone said their goodbyes, as we had just finished another year at Hogwarts.

Draco stood tall across the field, we both looked at each other as our friend groups passed.

Butterflies danced in my stomach, as I thought about the night before.

The memories of Draco from last night flashed in my head, making my cheeks turn red.

He didn't say a word, I didn't either.

We just looked at each other.

...

Another summer I spent alone, and in my room.

The only difference was that Draco wrote to me.

It started out sweet little notes, until a week before school started.

His owl appeared at my window.

I took the note from its beak.

I won't be writing anymore.    Things are hard, everything is getting darker.  I don't want you to get hurt.
I don't want you getting wrapped up in this mess.

I know you'll be mad at me, I don't see how you wouldn't be.

I hope you understand.

Don't forget about how we used to be.

Don't forget about our promise.

- Draco Malfoy

"What!? What the hell is that suppose to mean?" I gasped.

I quickly grabbed a pen and paper.

What's that supposed to mean?

Are you ok?

Are you ending this, whatever this is?
- C

I handed the paper to his owl.
His owl flew off, and returned quickly.
His owl dropped the note on the floor, before flying away into the night.

I grabbed the note off the ground, and opened it.

Goodbye for now, my love. - Draco Malfoy

Did Draco just break things off with me? A week before school?

We weren't dating, but still.

He wrote to me every day over the summer.

What caused things to change?

I waited, and waited for Draco to write again, but he never did.

I sent my owl with lots of letters to him, but Rose returned empty handed every time.

...

"Let me see your paper." I told Hermione, as we sat down in our seats on the train.

The title read 'Malfoy son and wife leave trial'.

I read the article quickly.

Lucius was at trial for being seen as a deatheater last year.

I guess the others weren't caught.

Is this what Draco meant by 'things getting darker'?

I quickly handed Hermione her paper back.

"You alright?" She asked me, as the train began moving.

"Yeah, let's go get something from the trolley." I gave her a nervous smile.

We got up, and walked out of our little section on the cart.

We met Ron, and Harry in the hallway.

"Section three." Hermione told them our seats.

They nodded, as they carried their things to where we were sitting.

As we walked through the train carts looking for the trolley, my eyes stopped.

They stopped at Draco

He hadn't seen me, or at least pretended like he didn't.

Draco's cheek bones looked hollowed.

He had dark bags under his eyes.

Draco's eyes looked more gray than ever.

"Hogwarts, a sorry excuse for a school.  I'd pitch myself off the astronomy tower if I thought I had to continue there for another two years." Draco scuffed, as he talked to his friends.

What was that supposed to mean?

"Hey, come on." Hermione whispered to me, as she tugged at my sleeve.

I didn't even notice that I stopped in my tracks.

"Sorry." I whispered back, as I followed her through the train carts.

We found the trolley, and bought a few things, before returning to our seats.

"There's no other explanation, he was at Borgin and Burks.  They've got Draco." Harry exclaimed, as Hermione and I sat down.

"Whats he talking about?" I turned to Hermione.

"While we were in diagon ally, we saw Draco, and his mother go into Borgin and Burks.  We watched through the window, and they were looking at this closet..... but that could mean anything." Hermione replied.

"Why else would he be in there?" Harry asked seriously.

"It's a creepy place, and he's a creepy bloke." Ron simply replied, as he took some candy from my hand, before shoveling it into his mouth.

"I think it was an initiation ritual." Harry shook his head.

"What's that suppose to mean?" I softly spoke.

Hermione let out a sigh.

"Harry is under the impression that Draco Malfoy is now a death eater." Hermione looked at me.

I had suddenly lost my appetite.

My stomach seemed to freeze.

I shoved the rest of my candy into Ron's hand.

"Yeah right," I spoke nervously, "Malfoy's too much of a pussy. He doesn't have the chops for it.   He is all bark, no bite."

"Whatever, I need some fresh air." Harry said quickly, as he got up and walked away.

The rest of the train ride was a quiet one.

The train finally stopped, and everyone stood up.

Everyone began exiting their carts.

"Where's Harry?" Hermione asked Ron and I.

"He's probably already at the platform." Ron said simply.

The three of us exited the train.

We stood by the carriages, and waited.

There was no sign of Harry.

"You guys go head, I'll wait a little longer for him." I reassured them.

They nodded in agreement, as they hopped on the last carriage.

I looked back at the train, and through the window I could see Luna.

"What the hell is she doing?" I told myself, as I walked over to the train.

I opened one of the doors, before stepping back onto the train.
