This started when elvis was alive, and the ground keepers worked diligently to keep the wall clean.

After Elvis died, the volume of fans graffiti proved overwhelming, and the estate decided to leave the wall alone.

The messages would usually last a year or so until exposure to sun and rain faded them, giving newer visitors a chance to add their thoughts.

Over the years, fans have turned the wall into a special place where they would write personal messages to Elvis. The graceland wall has been signed by millions of people, including celebrities, politicians and fans from all around the world.
