'Elvis called me one night out at the trailer, and he said, "jo, I want you to hear this song." He made Charlie hold the telephone and he sang 'Danny boy' the whole song because he knew I loved it.

And then he started the baby talk. He said, "I don't really feel good tonight." I said, "you don't?" Billy was over there with him and he said, "could Billy spend the night with me?" And I said, "Yes."

He never really grew up. He was so strong in so many ways. And if you were with him, you felt so safe. But in other ways, he was like a little kid.'
