Ellison Taylor

Ian was very happy after our conversation and so was I. Then I realized we are in a complicating situation now, he is my boss.

"Wait, then am I dating my boss now?" I asked suddenly pulling him back while we were walking hand in hand.

"Sorry, what? I couldn't hear you."

"I'm dating my boss." I said.

He give me an amused look. "Of all the things, you are worried about that."

"I hope our relationship doesn't come between our work."

"I doubt that." He said. "You tend to forget about me when you are focus on something."

My mouth dropped open. "When? What?"

"Back in high school too! You ignored me because of the school blog! That's how focus you are at work, so I don't think it will be troublesome for us."

"You are funny." I said rolling my eyes. He kissed my head, gently.

"Glad you find me amusing. Come, let's celebrate." As he pull me close to him. We stood away from crowds, close enough to watch the performance but far away from people's touch.

He hugged me from behind as we watched the show.

"You are working tomorrow?" I asked.

"Yes." He said. "And you are off. How nice is that."

"Where will you be tomorrow?" I asked.

"E.T in the morning and then Collins in the afternoon."

"I don't know how you handle moving around different locations and handling different type of businesses all together. I'm very impress." I said as I turned to look at him.

"Glad that you find that impressive, Ms.Taylor. I tend to be very pleasing and impressive very often."

"Is that the smell of over confidence."

"Not over confidence, Ms.Taylor. Just pride." He chuckled.

And I laughed a bit. "What did you guys talk about this morning?" I asked him.

"With El and Cooper?" He asked and I nodded my head.

"Not that they were not happy to see you, but they were not happy with me." He said.

I see.. "They think you are playing around again?"

He winced a little. "El was pretty mad, he said just things was about to get better between all of- you and all of us and he thought I might screw again! He's worried about that."

"I think I get his point of view. I think I should have continued being friends with them." I said. "I do regrets for not replying them back."

"And again I'm sorry about that."

"Things happened,Ian. I wish I could have fix or did things differently but we got a second chance, another opportunity." I said.

"I hope I won't mess up again." He whispered.

"I hope I won't mess it up too." I said. I know we both are insecure about the idea of messing things up in this relationship. We have to be confident in our selves and trust each other and I think that's what it is lacking, trusts. I need to trust him and I'm working on that.

An ice cream truck pulled over on the curb of the road and people surrounded the truck.

"Ice cream?" Ian asked.

"Sure." My eyes lit up in excitement. He put his arm on my shoulder as we walked to the truck.

We discussed what we wanted while waiting for our turn.

"Ellison?" I heard my name being called and I turned around to see Kingsley behind me.

His eyes went to Ian and then our intertwine hands. I tried moving my hand away but Ian held on it tightly giving Kingsley a smug look.

"You are here for the live music as well?" I asked awkwardly.

"Yes.." he said as he give me a hurtful look and I couldn't help but feel guilty inside.

"Hello, Mr. Collins." Kingsley acknowledges finally.

"Mr.Miller, how nice to see you after work." Ian said with a blank look. I can't tell how he is really feeling.

"Same here, sir." Kingsley said.

"You came here by yourself?" Ian asked.

"With friends." He pointed to a few group of men and women who was watching us intently.

"That's great." He said.

"I'll see you around?" Kingsley said. "Have a good night."

"Good night, Kingsley." I said in a soft tone.

"Goodnight, Mr.Miller."

"Don't give him that look." Ian said as soon as he walked away and was away from earshot.

"What look?"

"The guilty look." He pursed his lip. "It's not like you didn't make it clear that you will not date him." And his eyes widened. "You did warn him, right?"

"I think I did draw the line a couple of time.." I said.

He sighed in relief and kissed my cheeks. "good girl ." When it was our turn to order. My eyes lit up.

"I want bubble gum flavour." Ian chuckled a bit.

"In a cone? cup?" The old man asked

"Plain waffle cone." I said.

"Coming up!" I heard a voice behind him.

"Anything else?"the old man asked.

"Mint chocolate ice cream in waffle cone as well." Ian said.

Ian smiled triumphantly when he paid for our ice cream and I scowled. The old man accepted his card rather than my cash.

"Don't pout like that or I'll kiss you." He warned and I gasped.

"Ian!" I said so surprised by his forthcoming.

He laughed. A boyish laugh and I couldn't help but smile. I love his carefree and boyish laugh just like I did back in high school. It's very contagious.

"How long are they here?" He asked.

"You mean my cousins?" I asked.

"Uh huh." He nodded his head.

"For a week."

"I'm not fond of them. They make you upset and I don't like that." He scowled.

"They are still my cousins." I sighed. "Sometime I look at you with your two cousins. The relationship is unbelievable and here look at mine's. We can't stand each other."

"Our parents were always busy, they had to fly here and there. Which is why we always stuck together for support."

"Your parents are here?" I asked.

"No. They moved to Australia. Closer to the wildlife to do something about saving wildlife."

"Sounds interesting."

"Yea." He shrugged casually.

I had a good time even though we were busy talking. My phone buzzed and it was Brent.

I picked up his called.

"Where are you?" He was screaming on the phone due to the loud music.

"At the very end of the field. Are we ready to go home?" It was midnight already.

"Yea. The show is about to end soon. They have an after party but we have to leave."

"Okay. Where is Marilyn and Edith?"

"They are entertained by strangers."

"You think they want to go home?"

"We have to leave because the roads get block."

"I'll see you here." I said.

"You guys are planning to leave?" He asked as he pulled me close when a group of drunk men was passing by us.

"Yes. You need to go home too because you have work tomorrow."

He pulled me in for a hug. His nose buried to my neck while My arm was around his waist.

"I like you very much, Ellison and I hope you will see I really mean it when I say I want to be with you." He said.
