Ellison Taylor

"You want to go out for dinner?" He asked.

I shake my head, No. I don't want to get in trouble with Brent when he finds out.

"How about take out?"

"I'm actually tired." I said hoping he would get the hint.

"Okay." He frowned as he stood up. "I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked as he rubbed his neck, awkwardly.

"See you." I said with a small smile. When he left I took a sigh of relief and then went to take a shower.

The next morning, the office was chaotic as everyone wanted a glimpse of our new boss. Some already started drooling when they heard the news. He walked inside the building confidently as I watched him from upstairs. He was wearing a sunglass with his fancy and expensive attire. I see him smirk a little as the man beside him started talking about something.

"How was your weekend?" Kingsley asked.

"Good. How about you?" I asked.

"I went to watch the basketball game." He grinned.

"Sounds like you enjoyed it."

"Of course." He smiled.

We turned around to walk to the elevator. "Can I have my sandwich today?" He said and I laughed.

"Okay." I agreed. "At 4:30 pm?"

"Sure." He said. "Meet you in the lobby at 4:30?"

"Cool." I said and he laughed.

"That's the most causal thing you said to me." He pulled my cheeks slightly and I stuck my tongue out.

"I like this carefree styles of yours, it's contagious."

I rolled my eyes. "At least someone finds it contagious." I teased and he laughed.

"You are surprisingly happier than usual."

"Am I?" I questioned as I tilted my head to the side.

"More than usual." He said. I shrugged. "See you later?"

"See you."

The morning, went by quicker than usual. Everyone has so far met Ian while he dropped by each department. When he came to mine, he didn't even hide the fact that we know each other and very casually called out my first name and asked me to join him in some meeting with Taylor later this week.I glared at him when no one was looking.

"You guys know each other?" Everyone started throwing questions when he walked out and I was overwhelmed by their curiosity.

"We were classmates back in high school."

"Which high school? Was he always this good looking? Does he have a girlfriend or he is gay? Why did he call you for a meeting? Did you know he was buying the place?" Was all the questions that was thrown at me.

"I think we should refrains from gossips and actually focus on our work." I said with a straight face. Everyone grumbled as they walked back to their desks and give me hopeful looks thinking that will work on me.

During lunch time, it was clear that he have left the place but he was still the hot topic just like in high school. Fame follows him wherever he go, with his age, good looks, educations, money and success. Everyone seemed to adore him.

I was munching on my sandwich while looking at my computer when someone put a small carton of strawberry milk on my desk. I looked at the person and saw Ian with a smile. I looked around in the office and was glad no one saw that.

"What are you doing?" I whispered. I have no idea why I am even whispering. I cleared my throat and asked again.

"I was looking for you." He pulled a chair from the side and sat down as he looked at my screen. "Why are you working during your lunch hour?"

"I have to go through this, approve it when ready so that we can start this project." I said as I looked at the screen. "What are you doing here?"

"I just came back from the other company." He started. "I have a meeting later with some angry directors."

"You seemed to have displeased some people.." I said tilting my head to the side.

"We can't always please people." He smiled. "If I please one, I need to please the other one. I don't have time to please anyone else at this moment other than you."

I cringed. "Sorry." I apologized. "That made me cringe."

"Too cliche?" He asked laughing and after sometime he give me a serious look. "I really mean it, I want to make it up to you."

We were interrupted by two people walking back to the office. They gasped and stood still with their mouth open.

"I guess you have to go." I smiled and he grinned.

"Don't worry, it's my lunch hour and so is Ellison's feel free to use the space." He looked at them giving them a smile. They gawked and fan-girl slightly and moved to their desk.

"What are you doing?" I questioned him, this time whispering.

"I'm not your boss at the moment." He said tilting his head to one side. He look like a lost child who is curious and waiting for some answer.

"People will start spreading rumours." I muttered.

"Rumours?" He said amused. "Office romance." I give him a glare and he laughed a little. There was a ping and I see a message from Kingsley asking my whereabouts.

"I thought we are meeting for sandwich later?" I asked.

"But what about lunch?"

Just then Edith called and I groaned. I stood up and Ian followed my movement. I excused myself before picking up the call.

"Yes Edith." I said as I rubbed my forehead. I won't be surprised with they numerous calls before their arrival.

"We need the full itinerary for our trip."

"Excuse me?" I said, surprised by what she said.

"We want full itinerary of things we are going to see and places we are going to eat, so that we can make plans to meet people outside that plan." Marilyn said.

"There is no itinerary." I said rolling my eyes. "If you have to meet someone you can do it, when you don't have any plans.Brent and I will take you guys out."

"Why there is no itinerary?" Edith demanded.

"Because I'm not a tour agency."I snap. "If you have unnecessary questions like these- please feel free to NOT CALL ME."

"I need the full itinerary so that I'm aware where you are taking us."

"Look Edith." I started in a calmer tone. "It's difficult to make itinerary for you guys, if I send it now- which is not possible because I have due dates for my works. You guys will complain about the places we are going or the foods we will be eating."

"That's exactly why we want to see the itinerary. We don't want to waste our times.."

"Excuse me." Ian said as he snatched my phone. I had no idea he was with me. I left the damn room for a damn reason.

"Whoever you are.. I'm not happy with you. I don't care who you are. I'm not happy that you are making my Ellison this upset. Please refrain from using profanities. Good-bye." He hanged the call and I breathed angrily. I don't know if I should be mad at him or them. I chose the latter.

"Thanks." I said. "But then I'm also not happy you interrupted my talking." I rolled my eyes.

"I got your back, always." He said. "I really mean it." His eyes held the truth and I sighed.

"I hope so." I muttered to myself before he pulled me in for a hug. He smelled of cologne, mint and well, Ian.

"I don't like seeing you upset." He said. "Not after the last time." He said so quietly I almost missed it.
