Ellison Taylor

"That's a nice place." He said as he parked the car in front of the building. I was suppose to take over and drive it to the basement parking inside the building.

"Thanks." I said. "It's expensive, but convenient."

"Your brother lives with you?" He asked.

"I shake my head, "too far for him. He stays over during long weekend and sometime visits me when he have times off."

His phone buzzed and he shake his head. "I got to go. Seems like El found out who I'm with." He chuckled lightly. "Cooper said he is pissed and I must come and see him."

"I'm glad you guys have great friendship bond." I said, meaning it. "You always have each other's back."

"We're cousins after all."

My eyes widened. "No way." I said.

He nodded his head, "We're cousins."

"How come no one in school spoke about it?" I asked.

"We never told anyone about it." He said thoughtfully.

"Glad to know that..." I said. "Am I suppose to warn Claire about it?"

"I mean if you want to share it with her. I don't really mind. This is no secret, honestly. It's just in school- this topic was never brought up so.." he shrugged.

"This is news." I said chuckling a bit. "But I think you guys can tell her when the topic actually comes up. It's not my business anyway."

He patted my head lightly. "You were different and still is... I'm glad you are still you."

"I think I'm more mature now.." I joke and more cautious.

He shake his head as he laughed. "I missed you." He sighed. I didn't say anything back. "Have a good night?" I said  and we climbed out from the car and I switched places.

"See you Monday?" I said. He winked and give me a mysterious smile before waving me off. Today, has been good. I think I spoke everything off my chest and even learn something new. I smiled at the progress and hope everything gets better.

The next morning, Brent walked in to the apartment with lots of bags in his hand. He did groceries shopping for me. He does that every single time he comes here which is often and buy way too much things that I can't even finish all by myself.

"Brent, you should cut down on buying groceries or let me do it on my own." I said as he put all the bags on the counter.

"If I don't buy for you, you will starve." He glared. He brought back about the topic that happened two years back when I didn't eat much and I fainted on the road. I winced at that memory.

He started unpacking things and started putting it away. I boil some water for my tea and sighed.

"Would you like some tea?"

"No, thank you Ellison." He said. "We should go out for lunch."

"Sure." I said. "You should look for someone to hangout with." I indirectly hinted him. He is old now.

"If you are talking about 'date' I want you to know that I'm slightly busy for that thing now." He chuckled and I frowned. "If I get married, you will be very very lonely." He teased and I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I won't be lonely when you have children." I smirked and this time he rolled his eyes.

Brent doesn't want to date anyone that I'm friends with just incase it didn't work out. I was very curious about his coworker and if he was interested in any, but it seemed none has caught his eyes yet.

I sat on his Range Rover and put on my seat belt while patiently waiting for him to start the car.

"Tacos?" He asked.

My eyes widened and I clapped my hands in delight. "That will be great!"

We drove to another city for the delicious tacos. It's always worth the drive though. We parked the car outside the Mexican Restaurant and it seemed pretty empty than usual. I was surprised by that it's always busy here.

"What would you like to drink?" Our server for today, Candice asked. She seemed like a college student to me.

"Lemonade for me,please." I said.

"Same." Brent said and she nodded her head.

"Are you ready to order yet? Or would you like some more time?"

"I'm ready." I said. "Fish tacos." I love their fish tacos.

"We'll have one chicken tostadas as appetizer- with on side Guac." He purses his lip as he looked at the menu. "One fish tacos and one shrimp tacos, please." He said as he nodded his head in approval. "Would you like some soup, El?" He asked. I shake my head. That'll be too much food. He always orders more and expect us to finish it all. Most of the time we have to ask for take out boxes.

"That'll be it." He said as he passed her the menu and I see her flushed for the first time since our arrival and I almost wanted to tease Brent that how his charm is lost but now I can't bring the subject anymore. I must admit, Brent got the look and everyone always have to turn back again to look back at him. While there is me..

"How was your week?" He asked as he took a sip of his drink.

"Not bad." I said. "What about you?"

"Just little stress here and there." He frowned.

"Anyone that caught your interest?" I asked, not really expecting anything.

"There is a new coworker." He said with annoyance. "She gets on my damn nerve all the time."

And I was surprised and I suddenly sat up straight and grin.

"Don't give me that look, I'm not going to entertain you with gossips." He rolled his eyes.

"Someone caught your eyes." I teased.

"Honestly, she caught my eyes for wrong reasons." He snap. "She is so so annoying."

"How?"

"She spilled her iced coffee on me on her first day, doesn't know what the heck is going around. Ask way too many personal questions."

"Sounds like someone is interested in you." I muttered. I'm not surprise, she is interested in him.

"Not really. She just wants to get on my nerve and challenge me." He raised one of his eye brow. "He challenged me in front of interns."

"And I'm sure you were up for challenges."

His eyes sparkled with pride. "I definitely won." He said arrogantly. "Serve her right for challenging me in front of interns."

"What did she challenge you for?"

"She thinks I don't know my job!" He rolled his eyes. "I have been working there before her."

"Seems like an interesting week."

"Long week." He said, correcting me. "Has someone caught your eyes, yet?"

And I look thoughtful.

"Should I be worried?" He asked casually, but I know he is waiting to push me for answers.

"I met Ian." Avoiding his eyes.

"You what?" He snapped.
