When the school ended, Claire and I walked towards the bus stop. There are not many students who takes the bus to school as they have someone to pick them up or they drive themselves here. I scroll through my phone to see if there was any new updates in social media while Claire was busy doing online shopping and asked me for my opinion which I know she won't be using.

When my bus came first, she pouted. "I will see you tomorrow." She said. I nodded my head as I stepped inside the bus and tap my card. The bus was empty, not surprising to me as most people don't usually go to that route. I see the usual old woman reading her newspaper with her small basket full of grocery beside her. She give me a small nod as soon as I walked in. I give her a small smile and walked right at the back of the bus. When my stop was approaching I quickly pressed the stop button.

"Thanks." I said to the bus driver.

"Have a good day." He greeted as I stepped down from the bus and towards the small diner. This neighbourhood mostly have older generations, making the place very empty most of the time. The diner mostly have the same usual customers who sits there and interact with the same people. It keeps them busy and up to date. I went to the changing room and tied my hair into a pony tail and changed into a black polo shirt and black jeans.

"Hello dear." Kim greeted me. She is one of the oldest server in this location. She has been working here since the opening of this diner which was years back. "How was school?"

"Great." I said. "How was your day? Was it busy?"

"Same old." She smiled.

Something I love about this diner is- the environment is nut free and since you can't bring your own food, it is safer. People may think I am obsess with the fact of no peanuts or nuts, but they have no idea what people with allergies go through.

My shift ended with me counting the wastes and the money and by the time I was done. It was already ten.

"How are you going home?" Ben asked, he is the proud owner of this wonderful place.

"Brent is picking me up." I said as I checked my phone for his text.

"How is he doing?" He grinned.

"Great. His shift ended so he is here." I said.

"Take care and stay safe." He said as he walked to the exit.

I see Brent's car in the parking lot. Brent is my older brother. He is a doctor. Brent got the good looks, while me? I have no idea where mine is. He is the young and handsome doctor, that should be doing a TV show. Brent is the overprotective brother. He will make fun of me but if anyone else make fun of me, they have a difficult time standing up for a while. He takes my anaphylactic thing very seriously. He got the look, the smartness and success and he deserves it. He is too nice sometime.

"Hey buds, how was your day?" He asked as he put his phone away and give me the smile. His black hair a little messy, his eye bags was visible. He seemed tired and I felt bad that he had to pick me up from work.

"Good." I said as I put on my seat belt. "How was your day?"

"Tiring." He said. "Tomorrow I am off." He grinned as he pulled out of the parking lot.

"Great! You should consider taking rest." I said, worried for him.

"I know. It was a long week."

"I brought you your favourite burger and fries."

"That's perfect." He said giving me a genuine smile. "Are you carrying your epipen?" I was waiting for him to ask.

When we were younger, one time during Halloween we went around the neighbourhood for trick or treat. One of our neighbour offered us a snack which had nuts in it and oh boy after that, Brent is always cautious and always alert about if I have epipen with me or not. He was young and so was I. I told him it was not his fault but he took the responsibility and got grounded for a week. After that, he always remind me of my epipen.

Our drive home was short. All the lights was off, so I assume that our parents are asleep.

I took a quick shower, scroll through social media before I hit the bed.

The next day, I rushed to school as I was running late. My bus was late and I barely made it to school on time.

Claire was impatient as she pointed to her phone and to me.

"I know, I'm late." I said as I pulled her towards the building. We have to get our stuffs out from the locker and prepare for the day.

I grimaced when I heard the sound of heels in the busy hallway. Most of them wore expensive heels and I looked at my converse and pouted. Claire was at least wearing a ballerina shoe, while me. I wore my converse and I suddenly felt so out of place.

"Peanut." I heard Ian called out across the hallway. "You just woke up from bed?" My face flushed red as the whole school laughed at his sudden remarked. Although I was late, I tried to make myself look decent enough to school. I looked down at my feet in embarrassment when someone put his arm on my shoulder.

"She still look beautiful." Claire scowled and glared at him. "You piece of sh*t." And that got a  lots of gasped from everyone. No one ever spoke to him like that and I started to wonder if Claire will okay later.

"I think she looks cute like that." El said, surprising all of us but most importantly his best friend.
