"I.S.Y..." Manu mumbles, trying to figure out what it meant.

"Igloos..See..YouTube."

"No, Manu."

"Iridescent.. Sunflowers..Yodeling."

"What does that even mean."

"Maybe it's I.. Sound.. Yearning."

"This is hopeless."

Manu just shrugs, turning away from Y/N.

A few days had passed since their little future talk they had with the Sully kids, and currently Y/N and Manu were trying to figure out what I.S.Y. meant.

Little did Y/N know, Manu had already known. He just played dumb because he wanted Y/N to figure out on her own. He didn't wanna spoil it.

"Anyways, can you come fix my hair- oop.. nevermind." Manu says, sashaying away after seeing a certain "someone" walk toward you.

"What-"

"Y/N!"

You turn around, and see Neteyam walking to you.

"Oh, hey Neteyam." You say, waving at him.

"Hi.. I've been looking for you." Neteyam says, looking down at the
sand.

"Oh, why? Did Manu hit your brother again? Cuz I swear-"

"No! Oh no.. I just- ..wanted to see you."

"Oh. Okay.." Y/N says, feeling slightly awkward.

It's a good thing Neteyam's head was faced down towards the ground, otherwise Y/N would've saw the blush  that made it's way to his face.

"Uh..is there something on the floor?" Y/N asks, lifting his chin to face her.

"What? Oh- No..! Nothing is wrong with the floor." Neteyam says, shaking his head- his braids swaying from left to right.

"Why do you keep looking down then?" Y/N asks, and he stays quiet, shrugging silently.

You laugh at him.

"What's up with you? Why so tense? No need to be so scared of me, I'm your friend." Y/N says, patting the boy on the back.

"Friend..?" He whispers, looking at you. He felt a pang in his chest when he heard that word.

"Yeah, we're friends, right?" Y/N says, bumping shoulders with Neteyam, who just nods blankly with an unreadable expression on his face.

"Friends.. right..." Neteyam says, walking alongside you.

~

The two of you end up exploring the island, drawing weird things in the sand and searching for shells.

"Do you like it here?" Y/N asks, her hands digging into the sand- feeling around for any rocks.

"I do..but I miss home." Neteyam confesses, his leg brushing against yours as he turns to face you.

"I miss home too." Y/N agreed, picking a shell up from the floor.

"But..this place isn't so bad." She says, grabbing Neteyam's hand and placing the shell into his palm.

Neteyam looks down at your hand and his, before speaking up once more.

"Your home..what was it like?" He questioned, the gap between you two getting smaller and smaller.

You sit back, laying against the floor.

"Well..my home was- quiet." Y/N starts, staring up at the evening sky.

"Most days I'd spend alone. If I wasn't alone, I was out doing stuff or hanging out with Maya and Manu." Y/N goes on, Neteyam laying next to her.

"What about your parents? Where were they?" The Sully boy asks, looking at you as you stared on at the sky.

"Well, they were never really there. And if they were there, they would either be resting, or doing their own thing." Y/N shares, laughing quietly to herself.

"You are so strong, Y/N.." Neteyam empathized, setting his hand on top of yours. Except, it wasn't your hand he was touching- it was an angry crab.

"OH SHI- RUN!" Y/N shouts, grabbing Neteyam and running away as the crab chased after you two.

~

Hiding out from the crab, Neteyam and Y/N settle down at a more secluded area of the island.

Y/N looked at the ocean, while Neteyam looked at her.

"It's so pretty out here." Y/N says, her eyes watching the waves.

"Yes..It is very beautiful." Neteyam replies, his eyes never leaving you.

There's a silence. Not an awkward silence though. Y/N enjoyed the view, and Neteyam enjoyed Y/N.

He'd never felt this way about anyone before. It's always just been about taking care of his family, following his father's orders, and protecting his siblings.

But now, he is drawn to you. Even when he's not thinking about you, you're still at the back of his mind.

Sighing aloud, he finally interrupts the quiet atmosphere.

"Where..do you see yourself in the future?" He asks, scooting next to you.

Y/N looks down, her hand digging into the sand.

"Well.. I'd like to think that I'll be alive." Y/N starts, laughing to herself.

Neteyam's golden eyes soften.

"Why would you think otherwise?" He asks, turning to you.

"I.." you stop, turning to the boy. "It's too complicated to explain." Y/N says, fiddling with a rock she had found on the beach.

"What about you though? Where do you see yourself in the future?" You ask, glancing at Neteyam.

The boy in question laughs, feeling nervous all of a sudden.

"I already know my future..you told me, remember?" He says, staring into your eyes.

"Wait wha..-"

Y/N suddenly remembers the whole future vision thing.
*If you don't remember, it's basically everything that happened in my previous chapter lol*

"Oh yeah..I forgot." Y/N lies, scratching her neck.

"It's alright. I'm satisfied with my future, I'm also quite excited too.." he says, his cheeks turning a darker shade of blue.

He's blushing.. Y/N thinks to herself, smiling at Neteyam.

"I'm happy for you, I'm sure whoever your future love is- will be an excellent partner." Y/N cheers, standing up and dusting herself off.

Neteyam stops for a moment, "yeah.. I hope so..." He says, as you pull him up to his feet.

You are both about to walk back, when Neteyam grabs your wrist.

You turn around to him, confused.

"I have to tell you something Y/N.. something I've been hiding." He says, holding your hand to his chest- right where his heart would be.

His heart raced, his palms were sweaty. But that didn't matter to him. All that mattered in that moment- was you.

Y/N stops, her own face heating up.

"Oh, sure. What is it?" Y/N asks, still confused.

He takes a deep breathe in, before exhaling.

He intertwines his fingers with yours, before speaking softly.
