Aubrey's POV:

"Let me get this straight, he pretty much asked you out and you rejected him?" Claire questions

"I didn't reject him and he didn't ask me out, he simply said I could see him tomorrow, or tonight, whenever I like." I shrug

"So he low key asked you out and you reject him."

"Okay sure, I rejected him." I shrug and sit down on my bed trying my best to get her to drop the subject.

"I'm jealous, the man is hot" she grins and sits down next to me

"Who's hot?" Caleb asks as he walks into the room

"Aubrey's new boss."

"You got a job? congratulations." Caleb grins happily "I guess this means you don't have to move out now."

"Looks that way." I smile

"Guess who her boss is? The hottie of all hotties, Easton Raven" Claire gushes

"Easton Raven? That asshole who owns Raven's?"

"You know him?" I ask sitting up a little straighter. "That's where I'm going to be working."

"Of all the places in the world." He sighs "That guy is bad news Aubrey, you should be staying away from him, not working for him."

"How do you know him?" I ask feeling worried.

"I've seen him around, and I've seen enough to know he's a dick."

"Sure you're not jealous big brother?" Claire taunts

"Why would I be jealous?"

"Because you want Aubrey all to yourself and you see Mr. Hottie as competition."

"You're ridiculous." He huffs and leaves the room

"You know he's in love with you right?" she turns to me

"Don't be silly Claire, no he isn't."

"Okay, pretend you don't see it just like you've done our entire lives." She shrugs "what are you wearing tonight?"

"We've been over this, I'm not going out." I sigh and lay down on the bed staring up at the roof.

"You are, and we're going to have so much fun." she bounces off the bed and walks over to my closest where she slides the hangers across the rail before pulling out a black dress. "Wear this, and put some heels on with it."

"So now I have to go out and wear heels?" I complain.

"How will you ever find a man if you're sitting in your room all the time? Come on Aurb, you're twenty-three years old and you're still holding onto your V card."

"So." I sit up and cross my arms with an annoyed expression on my face.

I hate it when she brings this up.

"Okay virgin Mary, chill." She huffs "I know, I know, you're waiting for the right man to come along, but you're not going to find him here." She places the dress down on the bed next to me. "I'll meet you at the door at 7 pm." She exits the room

After a quick shower, I dry myself off and apply my make-up, nothing over the top just some foundation, mascara, and lip gloss. I fix my hair, keeping it in its usual straight style but add a little volume to the top.

Once I'm done I walk back into my bedroom and pull my dress from the hanger sliding it over my body, I grab my black heels from the wardrobe and slip them on as well. I give myself I quick glance before I exit my room and make my way down the hallway, once I reach the living room I find Caleb on his laptop typing away, he looks up for a moment, his eyes running up and down my body.

"You look stunning" he gulps softly

"Thank-you." I give him a soft smile

He closes the lid of his laptop and stands up making his way over to me. "Promise me something." He asks as he closes the space between us.

I nod looking up at him.

He places his hand on my cheek stroking it gently. "Don't let my sister talk you into doing anything you don't want to do."

"I won't," I tell him honestly as I look up at him

"And I'm sorry for storming out of your room before, there is just something about your boss I don't like." He speaks honestly as he holds my cheek on his hand. "I care about you, so much, you know that right?" He questions as he moves his lips closer to mine.

"I care about you too," I assure him. The space between us becoming smaller and smaller.

He leans in closer, his lips inches from mine, and I place my hand on his cheek, not sure within myself if I'm trying to bring him closer, or push him away. Once our lips are about to touch, my eyes close and I lean in closer.

"Are you ready to go or-" Claire calls as she makes her way into the room. "Oh." she grins and crosses her arms over her chest.

Jumping at the sound of her voice I move back, Caleb doing the same. I turn to Claire and tuck my hair behind my ear. "Uh, I'm ready to go if you are."

I turn back to the door quickly and make my way down the front steps. A moment later the taxi arrives and Claire skips down the steps next to me. I open the door and slide across the seat to let her in next to me.

"Raven's please." She tells the driver as she slides into the car

"Raven's really?" I huff softly next to her.

"How many other bars do you know around here?" she questions "And what the hell was that with my brother?"

"Nothing." I look out the window feeling embarrassed

"If you say so."

It's only a short drive and we arrive at Ravens. If I had known this is where we were coming, I wouldn't have come. This is going to be the place I work, I can't be here drinking and making a fool of myself.

The taxi stops at the door and we step out. Once we reach the door, we show our I.D's to the security on the door and he allows us in.

Just like the night before, it's dimly light, with loud music coming from the night club section upstairs and people everywhere.

"I'll go and get us some drinks, find us a table," Claire yells over the music and I nod in response.

I look around trying to spot a table, finally, I see a free one and begin to make my way over. As I reach the table so does a stunning woman who looks to be my age with long, jet black hair and huge blue eyes.

"Sorry, I thought it was free," I yell to her over the music.

"It's fine." She yells back with a smile "You're welcome to share the table if you like."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, of course, it's so busy here tonight, you probably won't find one."

"Thank-you." I yell over the music and extend my hand "I'm Aubrey."

"Amara." She shakes my hand with a smile "Are you here by yourself?" She questions as she takes a sip of her drink.

"No." I shake my head "I'm here with a friend, but she's gone to get our drinks, you?"

"I'm here with my brother and a few of our cousins." She replies and takes another sip of her drink.

The door to the nightclub upstairs is closed and it becomes a little easier to ear, thank goodness because I'm already sick of yelling.

"Hey, sorry I'm late." A male tells Amara as he reaches the table, he looks around for a moment and then presses a quick kiss on her lips.

"He's at the bar." She giggles and pulls him back in for another kiss then pulls back "This is Aubrey, she and her friend are sharing our table."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Nate." He extends his hand

"Nice to meet you too." I smile shyly and shake his hand

If there is one thing I'm bad at, it's meeting new people. I always feel so awkward and have no idea what to say. Maybe Claire is onto something, maybe this is why I don't have any friends other than her and Caleb, maybe this is why I'm twenty-three years old and have never met anyone worth entering into a relationship with.

"When I said I'd see you tonight I wasn't expecting I actually would." His deep voice speaks from behind me. I bite down on my bottom lip and look at Amara and Nate who are now both staring at me. I turn and look up at him, our bodies much closer than I'd thought.

"I didn't know you'd be here."

"But I am, and so are you." He grins down at me "So it looks like we're in for a fun night."

He takes a step to the side and places his glass down on the table. "I see you've met my sister Amara and my mate Nate."

"Wait, he's your brother?" I ask looking at Amara

"Unfortunately." She rolls her eyes with a laugh

"You two know each other?" Easton questions looking between us

"Nope, I said she could share our table, but apparently you two know each other?" she grins

"Aubrey is my new employee, right Newbie?" He places his arm around my shoulder

"unfortunately" I repeat Amara's words causing both she and Nate to laugh.

A moment later Claire arrives back at the table with our drinks as well as four other people who come from the opposite direction.

"Hey, who are your frien- holy shit." She grins as she Easton

"Hi." He waves and drops his arm from my shoulders "Easton." He introduces himself, holding out his hand.

"Claire." she takes her hand in his, shaking it.

"Claire, Aubrey meet the crew" He pulls his hand back "Amara, Nate, Evie, Leo, Reid, and Emi." He points to each person one by one

"Everyone, Aubrey and Claire." He grins and picks up his drink once more taking a long sip.

I don't think I've ever met a group of people who are so easy to like. Every single of them are so nice and welcoming. As the night goes on it's now almost 11 pm and everyone has well and truly had their fair share of drinks, including myself.

"Dance with me?" Claire asks as she holds her hand out to Easton who's sitting casually on his barstool

"Sure." he grins and takes her hand, the two of them making their way onto the dance floor.

Immediately Amara takes his spot sitting next to me. "Sister to sister will you keep a secret for me?" She questions

"Sure." I nod, already knowing where this might be headed

"Easton doesn't know about Nate and I seeing each other, if he did, he'd probably kill him, so can you maybe keep the part where you saw us kiss to yourself?"

Laughing softly I nod my head "I can do that."

"Thanks." She gives me a hug and pulls back "So, what's it like working for my brother? Is he an asshole?" she giggles

"No, well not so far away, but I'm only training at the moment, today was my first day."

"Who's training you?" She asks and takes a sip of her drink

"Easton is."

Almost choking on her drink she coughs and places it back down on the table. "Easton's training you, like him, himself?"

"Yes." I nod "I-Is that not normal?"

"Aww I think my brother has a little crush." she gushes and then clears her throat "No, it's not normal at all, in fact, he usually leaves all bar matters to his second in charge."

"Oh." I nod and look back out the dance floor where he and Claire are dancing. They're crazy, both of them are dancing around like idiots, having a conversation at the same time, looking completely insane, but like they're having so much fun at the same time.

Claire nods her head in my direction and Easton turns his attention to me with a smirk, he makes his way back to the table. He leans in closer and whispers "Come and dance with us."

"No thanks." I shake my head with a laugh "I don't dance."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't know how."

Grinning he steps back and takes my hand pulling me to my feet. "No one really knows how to dance, that's the best part."

"Easton," I whine "I really don't want to."

"Too bad." He drags me along behind him until we reach Claire who is no longer alone on the dance floor.

"Well then." I clear my throat with a laugh as I watch Claire and an unknown male in the middle of a heated kiss.

Placing his arms around me, he pulls me close. "That could be us, but you haven't fallen for my charms yet." He smirks down at me

"And I won't ever." I raise a brow at him

"I wouldn't be so sure sweetheart." He grins.
