Matty stood in the airport, a cigarette tucked neatly behind his ear. He had promised Alice that he would pick her up but she had failed to mention that she gets in at eight am. He was not in a good mood.

Alice spotted him, she had only been away for a week but he looked different. His eyes were wandering and his whole ambience was messy. He radiated danger and she wondered how she had never seen this before.

Matty finally spotted her and broke out into a grin. He removed his hands from his leather jacket and made his way over to her. His lips crashed onto hers and a sigh of relief escaped his mouth.

"Hey baby. I missed you." Alice smiled as she pulled away from the kiss. He brought his hand to her sun kissed cheek and smiled.

"I missed you too." And for once, he wasn't lying.

He threw his arm around her, grabbed her suitcase and guided her to where he was parked.

"How were your family? Still part of the Matty Healy hate club?" He asked, Alice hit his arm but he just laughed.

"They asked how you were and if we were still together. I said yes and they didn't protest too much." She shrugged, Matty put her suitcase in the trunk while she got in his passenger seat.

As soon as he got into the car, Alice attached her lips to his neck and rubbed his thigh, creating a warmth on his leg. He allowed her to continue as he pulled the car out of the parking space and down the road. She sucked at his neck and after a while, he couldn't handle it. He pulled into an alley and unbuckled himself.

Alice climbed on top of him as he fumbled at his jeans, her hand grabbing onto his dick a bit too hard. His mouth flew open, a gasp flying from his lips. Alice smirked and lifted up her skirt, one hand still working in his pants as his hands roamed her body.

"Fuck, I've missed you." Alice mumbled against his lips as they fucked in the car. Matty opened his eyes as she started to kiss her neck, it felt wrong to be doing this in his car but he didn't stop.

Kat entered her flat, carrying her shopping she had just got from the supermarket. She dropped it all on the floor however when she saw George and her sister sat on the sofa.

"What the fuck?" She said loud enough for them to look at her. George stood up and started helping her collect her shopping together.

"I came over and then she turned up." He explained as he followed her to the kitchen. "I didn't know how to say no or whether you wanted me to say no. She's nice." She didn't say anything as she started to put the food in the fridge.

"Need some help sis?" Angie asked as she waltzed into the kitchen. George smiled at her.

"No, I've got it." She denied. "Did you need something? Why didn't you call first?" She asked, putting the milk in the door of the fridge.

"I just thought we could grab lunch but do you two already have plans?" She gestured to George, who shook his head.

"No. I just came over because Alice is back." He directed his eyes to Kat. "And I didn't feel like listening to that situation all day." He flickered them back to Angie.

"Who's Alice?" Angie asked, genuinely interested.

"Why don't we all go for lunch?" Kat suggested, George's eyes lit up and Angie smiled. She figured at least if George was there she could probably keep her annoyance to a minimum.

"That's a great idea!" Angie squealed, Kat nodded.

"Okay, I'll just finish this and then we can go." Kat continued to put stuff away. George looked Angie up and down, she looked just like Kat but with longer hair, bigger boobs and curvier hips.

"I'll get my coat on!" Angie beamed before jogging into the hallway.

"Why are you so hostile towards her? She seems nice enough" George wondered, Kat started to fold her shopping bags.

"Parents divorced, she took mums side, I took dad's side. We're close but she's pissed me off by moving here. I preferred it when she was in London." She summarised, George nodded.

"Okay. You gonna tell her everything that's happened?" He wondered how close they were. She nodded.

"Probably everything yeah. That's how this works." She put the shopping bags back in her cupboard and started to walk to the hallway where Angie was waiting. George followed.

They started to walk to the nearest restaurant, which was in town by the record shop that Kat worked at. She had been to this independent restaurant for lunch with her work friends a few times before and knew it was good for it's worth.

They got a booth by the window, George sat on the same side as Kat while Angie had a side to herself. She looked out the window while George showed Kat all the things he wanted on the menu.

"And, you guys are just friends?" Angie snapped them both out of their conversation.

"Yes. Definitely." George replied, Kat nodded in agreement. "She has a thing for my best friend." He nudged her, Kat gave him a confused look.

"Uh, no I don't." She defended, Angie rested her head on her hands and smiled at the two.

"Who's his best friend? Tell me about him." She asked. George grinned cheekily and rested his head on his right hand, turning to Kat to wait for her answer.

"His name is Matty. We hooked up a couple times but then he got a girlfriend and now we are just friends." She summarised. "I met George and all their mates through him." She added.

"His girlfriend is Alice?" She assumed, they both nodded. "Did you want to be his girlfriend?" She asked, George turned his eyes to Kat.

"You already know the answer to that, Angie." She dodged the question. "No." She said mostly for George.

They ordered their food and drink from the nice waitress before Angie turned her attention to George.

"What do you do George?" She asked, George leant back on the booth chair.

"I'm in a band with my mates. It pays a little but I know it'll be worth it." He answered. Angie nodded. "I play the drums." He added.

"That's so cool. I wish I could play an instrument but Kat got all the musical genes." She sighed, Kat didn't have a particular expression on her face when George looked at her but he knew she was trying to figure out what Angie was thinking.

"What do you do?" George asked, Kat felt like rolling his eyes as she knew Angie was going to give her speech.

"Well, now I work at the fashion institute in Manchester. I'm a teaching assistant there but it gives me an opportunity to work on my fashion line when I'm not you know, assisting. I recently moved from London where I studied fashion, I was going to law school before that but it was so boring and I'm so bad at arguing without crying, you know?" She rambled, George let out a chuckle.

"That's interesting. You're both quite artistic then." He assumed, then his phone started to ring.

"I'll be back in a second" he mumbled to his phone before walking out. Angie watched him and bit her lip.

"He's gorgeous." She giggled, Kat's eyes widened. This couldn't be happening, she wouldn't allow it.

"Stay away from him." She said sharply, surprising herself and Angie, who's eyes widened.

"Alright alright. You sure you're just friends?" She laughed, Kat knew she was joking but a worry in her started that she was being too over protective of George. She turned her eyes out of the window to see George talking emotively on the phone. She wondered who he was talking to.

"Mate, I'm with Kat and her sister. I can't come." George said frustratingly down the phone.

"I'm freaking out. I don't know what to do. I'm confused and I feel sick and I just want to take some shit and I know I can't because Alice is in the other room." George fell quiet as Matty spoke. He didn't know what had caused him to feel or act in such a way. "George, please." Matty's voice was weak and sent his heart plummeting.

"Do you want me to bring Kat?" He asked, knowing he was probably calling him to get to her.

"Yes please." He said quietly. "Can I talk to her on the phone?" He asked.

Kat watched George walk towards her and knew something was wrong. Their food had just arrived and they were waiting for him. She watched as he handed her the phone and it read that Matty was on the other line. She didn't even think about it, she held it to her ear.

"Matty?" She asked, she heard a sob from the other end. "Matty?" She repeated.

"I'm a horrible person. I know I shouldn't want to do it again but it's there, it's there in front of me and I want it; Kitty I want it so bad." He groaned, she knew what he was talking about.

"Okay. Where's Alice right now? I thought she was with you?" She asked, Angie looked up at George who bit his lip nervously.

"She's downstairs, she thinks I'm showering." He answered. "Can you come over? Can you and George come over? I can't do this." He sounded frustrated. Kat looked at Angie.

"I'm with my sister." She never would've thought of this as an excuse and from Angie's expression, she never would've thought it either.

Kat tried to explain as best she could to Angie without telling her too much as they made their way over to Matty's house. Alice opened the door.

"Oh hey guys!" She beamed, clearly oblivious.

Angie was given the task of distracting Alice along with George while Kat went upstairs to look after Matty. After some small talk, Kat told George she was going to grab her jumper from his room and escaped up the stairs.

"Matty." She knocked on the bathroom door softly, she heard the door unlock and he let her in. "Hey." She whispered when she saw his broken face. He pulled her in for a hug and she shut the door behind them. "What happened?" She asked.

"Well, we were having sex in my car and I got like really anxious and then we came home and had sex on the sofa and then started to watch a movie. I felt exhausted and irritable then my arm started to itch and then Alice told me she loved me and i started to get even more anxious and then I said I had to have a shower and left." He looked behind him, Kat followed his eyes to his heroin set up.

"Matty, this is what we are going to do: You are going to have a shower and when you come out you will feel better and the heroin will be gone from here. You will dry yourself and come downstairs and have dinner with us. You can get through this. You did a good thing by calling George, it shows you're getting stronger." She spoke into his face as she held it in her hands, not breaking eye contact for even a second. "Breathe with me." She took a deep breath and he followed her. "You're not a horrible person. Say it."

"I'm not a horrible person." He said, she nodded.

"Go and have a shower." She tapped his cheek. He got naked immediately and got in the shower as Kat picked up all his drug equipment and exited the bathroom.
