It was around two am when Matty came home from Kat's place. He walked into his house, feeling somewhat remorseful towards her. He cared a little too much about her and that kiss they had just had didn't give him the closure he had thought it would.

"Hey Matty" A voice said as he stood in the hallway, reflecting. He looked up to see Tammy leaning against the doorframe that led into the living room.

"Hey Tim tam" His voice was hoarse from tiredness, he really just wanted to go bed.

"Your lady's upstairs; doesn't seem too pleased with you." She let him know, Matty closed his eyes as he was not in the mood for this.

"How long has she been here?" He wondered, pulling his phone out of his pocket. No calls or texts from her, she had just turned up it seems.

"All night. I bet I can guess who you were with" She grinned, knowing from George that he was with Kat. Matty smirked.

"I bet." He didn't even try to deny it which made Tammy roll her eyes. "I guess I should go up there, grovel or whatever" He really just wanted to go to bed and relive that kiss over and over again, Alice was going to make this very difficult. Tammy walked up to him and rubbed his lips with her fingers.

"Might want to rub that off your lips first" She winked before walking into the living room. Matty rubbed his lips viciously as he jogged up the stairs.

As he walked into his room, Alice was curled up in one his jumpers on his bed. She looked adorable. He was slightly thankful that she wasn't awake since now he could just lay in bed and think of Kat; wow that was fucked up.

He took off his t-shirt and jeans and got into bed, praying she wouldn't wake up. Let's just say his prayers went unanswered.

"Matty?" Her small voice said as soon as he closed his eyes. He let out a hum. "Where have you been?" she asked.

"Hanging out with Kat" He wasn't going to lie, he was already doing too much of that.

"Until two in the morning?" She wondered, implying way too much for Matty's liking.

"Yes. She's my best friend and we had a lot to talk about" He hadn't opened his eyes yet but he knew she was glaring at him. That pissed him off, but he didn't let on.

"What did you talk about?" She asked, he opened his eyes to see her sat up and watching him.

"That's none of your business." He replied, watching her eyebrows raise in offense. "What? I don't ask what you and your best friends talk about. It's private and between you two" He said, having a valid point.

"I didn't realise you were so secretive." She said quietly. He sat up and rested his head on the headboard.

"Don't be like that." He sighed, Alice raised her eyebrows.

"Like what?" Matty stared at her.

"Don't get weird about Kat just because she's a girl. You have guy friends that I don't get weird about" He pointed out. Alice bit her lip as he ran his hands aggressively through his hair.

"Did you talk about me?" She asked, watching as he met her eyes. He shifted his body so he could reach out and pull her towards him.

"Yes." He said seductively. She went to sit on his lap but he flinched and instead, pushed her down so he was on top. He couldn't have her sitting where Kat had sat only hours before. She smiled up at him and tried to pull him down for a kiss. He dodged it and kissed her cheek before placing his lips next to her ear. "Be my girlfriend, Alice" He whispered.

"Okay" She whispered, he grinned down at her. He realised he had to kiss her now, he had to wipe away reminiscence of Kat no matter how badly he really didn't want to.

Downstairs, Tammy was on her fourth glass of wine with George and Ross. She loved these boys and was feeling it tremendously tonight.

"What's your view on Matty then? Team Alice or Kat?" She asked as she sipped, Ross let out a laugh while George just shook his head.

"I think Matty should go back to being a manwhore. Now he's just messing with Alice's feelings" George expressed, Tammy nodded.

"Team Kat then, me too" She put all the words in his mouth which made Ross laugh again. Ross' laugh turned into a giggle before he kind of rolled onto the floor, indicating he was drunk.

"I'm going to bed. You and Kat are coming to see the neighbourhood on Friday right?" He asked Tammy as he stood up and stretched.

"Yeah, course. I'm still surprised you managed to get so many tickets" She crossed her legs and took another gulp of wine.

"Hmm, we have our ways" he smirked, kissing her head as he walked away.

Tammy looked at Ross, who was now lying on the floor. It may have been the wine but at that moment; he was so attractive. She stared at him as he stared at the ceiling, craving to know what he was thinking about.

He lifted his head to look at her, which gave her her answer. She passed him a smile and he sat up, not breaking eye contact.

"You seem worried" He said, his deep voice radiating her. She squinted her eyes at him.

"How so?" She replied. He brought his finger to her leg and ran it along her knee then walking it as if it had legs along her thigh.

"Do you not want to go to see the neighbourhood?" He wondered, trying to pinpoint the anxiety in her that he saw. Her eyes flared, was she so transparent?

"I do. I love them" She stumbled on her words which made him smile.

"So, what's the problem? Is it Kat and Matty?" he wanted her to let him in, purely because he cared.

"It's not Matty." She said warily, he nodded.

"So Kat?" He tried to understand but the wall she was building was going up so fast.

"Well, no. It's me." She turned away from him, agitating him slightly. He used his forefinger to pull her back by her chin.

"You and Kat? Are you two alright?" He asked, she turned away again. "Tammy" He said, that got her to look at him.

"Kat's paying for my ticket" she confessed but Ross didn't understand the issue with that so he just stared at her until she explained. "I lost my job a while ago and I haven't been able to get anything else. Kat is so understanding about it but i feel so disgusting whenever she buys me anything" She vented. Ross bit his lip, he had never even considered that possibility.

"Tam-" She held up her hand and he stopped.

"I don't want pity, or for you to start offering anything to me ever. I just want you to be aware" She explained. He nodded. "It's not my fault I lost my job, but it is that I can't get another one. I am hopelessly pathetic at interviews and my CV is shit" She shrugged.

Ross watched her, have the most normal of problems and how it somehow turned her into the most extraordinary of people.

"I can help you." He blurted, she went to protest immediately so he kept talking. "I am not going to give you money. But, I can take a look at your CV and train you how to do an interview." He offered. Tammy stared at him.

"You would do that?" She asked, he nodded.

"For you? Of course" He grinned, making her grin.

They sat in each other's company for a little while longer before Tammy yawned.

"Can i crash on your couch? I think i've had one too many to drive home" She asked, he nodded before kissing her softly on the forehead. He lingered for a second, bringing his head down to face her.

Suddenly, a familiar face crashed through the door. They both jumped apart from each other.

"oops sorry Rossy" Matty grinned at the pair. Ross went bright red and stood up to create distance from Tammy, who was just smiling happily.

"What do you want, Healy?" She asked, "I was about to go to sleep" She stood up and stretched.

"When's the next time you're going to see Kat?" He wondered, the whole room raised their eyebrows.

"Probably tomorrow, why?" She sighed. Matty furrowed his eyebrows.

"What? I thought she had work tomorrow?" He replied, Ross groaned.

"Stalker much? I'm going to bed" He complained, kissing Tammy's head again and walking out of the room.

"I'm seeing her after work so you can't intrude." She pointed at him, he shook his head.

"I would never. Anyway, can you ask her if she still wants me to drive her to the neighbourhood?" He asked, Tammy gave him a dirty look.

"why can't you text her?" She asked, he looked offended by the idea.

"I just saw her, i don't want to be needy" He said as if that was a valid reason.

"Fucks sake Matthew, get out." She went to close the door, he rolled his eyes and left. Tammy found it extremely concerning that he came downstairs just so he could talk about Kat. She would rather him be with her than Alice, yes, but if he was choosing to be with Alice then he shouldn't be like this regarding Kat. He was such a tool sometimes.
